There are only 2 genuine leaders and they are the favourite in GLENCADAM GOLD and VOILA ICI, they are both drawn off the track but should be able to cross easily if they step away well. LIGHTS OF HEAVEN has drawn ideally to sit just off the leaders with SANAGAS, MY QUEST FOR PEACE and DECEMBER DRAW all enjoying nice runs. FOLDING GEAR and NIWOT settle next in line with the rest of the field settling midfield or beyond in a race where every horse should get their chance barring track bias and luck in running. RACE ANALYSIS: Competitive edition of the Caulfield Cup this year. The barrier draw has thrown a real spanner in the works with some fancied runners drawing wide. LIGHTS OF HEAVEN has a real sense of timing about her. After 2 disappointing runs at unsuitable distances, she found form with a close up 3rd behind Lamasery and Mourayan. Mourayan has since gone onto win the Craven Plate and Lamasery was thrashed by GLENCADAM GOLD but in hindsight he is probably better suited over 2000m. She steps up to 2400m which clearly suits her as she was dominant in the Brisbane Cup over the same trip and equally dominant over the 2200m in the Eagle Farm Cup. She regains the services of Luke Nolan who has won on her 6 times, she drops sharply in weight, has a terrific 4th up record and is drawn perfectly for a nice run just off the speed. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-moody-s-mare-light-of-heaven-can-cause-a-boil-over-in-the-caulfield-cup-

MCCLINTOCK looks the sole leader from a wall of horses capable of settling handy. They include TAGUS, RENEWED VITALITY, WHATEVERWHENEVER, KINGS ROSE, MASTER MILTON, and SHADOWFAX. The rest of the field will settle midfield or beyond in a race where being on the speed looks to be advantageous. RACE ANALYSIS: KINGS ROSE looks extremely well placed back to Group 3 level at Weight For Age. Of her 10 starts since joining the Peter Moody stable 7 have been at Group 1 level while 3 have been at Group 2 level, two of which she won. She is 4-time Group 1 placed of those 7 starts and was arguably unlucky not to place in the Cox Plate last year when Luke Nolen admitted to making a tactical blunder at the turn. She resumed in the Gilgai over 1200m down the Flemington straight and acquitted herself terrifically running an eye catching 2nd over a distance she is not suited at. Stepping up to the 1400m today with the nice drop in grade suits ideally and I expect her to be winning well. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-king-s-rose-looks-a-class-above-her-rivals-in-the-moonga-stakes
