Caulfield Betting: Big day for the South Australian's on the cards in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Speed looks pretty good here. THE BIG CHILL or LONGPORT lead from LADY OF HARRODS and MAYBE DISCREET. If EXCITUS gets a run she’ll be up there too. COMMANDING JEWELL and MEDITRINA next in line and expect MOLTO BENE and DAZZLER to be closer from good gates. The rest of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race where every horse should get their chance barring bad luck or track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: Looks an open Thousand Guineas on paper but it is hard to ignore MOLTO BENE’S last start run in the Tranquil Star at this track over the 1400m. She drew an outside barrier, sat 3 wide for the majority of the race, made an early move and at the turn looked like she might drop out after the tough run but managed to build momentum and on the line she was the strongest of her rivals but the start she gave LADY OF HARRODS and COMMANDING JEWELL was too great to bridge. Today she steps up 200m to the 1600m which looks ideal, draws the perfect barrier in number 4 and champion jockey Craig Williams sticks with her after riding her past two starts. MAYBE DISCREET is a tough on-pacer proven at the distance after two strong victories at the 1600m. She destroyed her rivals in the Morphettville Guineas before proving too strong in the Edward Manifold at Flemington a fortnight ago. She will give herself every chance with her on-pace racing pattern and has shown she enjoys a fight. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-big-day-for-the-south-australian-s-on-the-cards-in-the-group-1-thousand-guineas

STAR OF GISELLE probably leads from OASIS BLOOM. They are the clear cut market favourites and they also looks well advantaged on the speed map. SISTER NORMA and BLUE NILE can also go forward but there are a lot of back markers involved here so on-paper it does look advantageous to be on the speed. RACE ANALYSIS: OASIS BLOOM looks extremely well placed here. She had no luck in her first two runs this preparation before taking her place in the Group 2 Stocks Stakes in only her 5thcareer start. She was caught wide and Glen Boss opted to go take the mare to the front and although having endured a tougher run than most her rivals she won the race by a small margin. The form out of the race like last year has been terrific. 2nd in the race was Spirit Song who has since been placed in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap, 3rd in the race was Chateau Margaux who has since won 2 races, 5th in the race was Midnight Martini who bolted in the Cranbourne Cup and 8thin the race was Dame Claire who has since won the Ansett Classic at Mornington and ran 3rd in the Listed Bart Cummings Handicap. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-oasis-to-bloom-against-the-mares-in-the-race-tech-classic
