DeanK Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 In what might be the making of a future star of the turf, Moment Of Change has claimed his first Group 1 victory by taking out the Sir Rupert Clarke Handicap at Caulfield on Sunday. The Peter Moody trained 4 year old drew barrier 15 but jockey Luke Nolen got him out of the gates swiftly and within 200m the barrier was nullified and he was in the perfect on-pace position. He quickly went passed his stable mate Mr Make Believe early in the straight and then was challenged by We’re Gonna Rock but was too good. Peter Moody reflected after the race on the bad luck his horse has endured over the past 12 months. “It's no secret I hold him in very regard the horse, he's just been dogged by a bit of bad luck,†Moody said. “His record could have been a bit better but it was nice to see him get that Group 1 out of the way today.†“Luke didn't rush around them, he took his time and he knew what he had under him and he nursed him over the first 200 or 300 and did just enough, he said of jockey Luke Nolen’s ride. “He got a nice breather in the middle stages, he was there to be run down, but he's a bloody good horse this bloke.†http://www.betzone.com.au/the-caulfield-wrap-moment-on-the-big-stage Quote
