DeanK
[h=1]The Moonee Valley Wrap: Rusambo set for a Guineas tilt[/h] The Darley team may have a Caulfield Guineas prospect after Rusambo took out the Essendon Nissan McKenzie Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday. The 3 year old colt who was coming off his debut victory last start settled at the rear of the field before swamping his rivals late in the race to win by the barest of margins. The Matt Laurie trained Dominant who was having his first start this preparation ran 2nd and looks a horse of the future. Adjuster rocketed along the inside to finish an eye catching third. Rusambo will now step up in distance to the 1400m of the Henry Bucks Stakes at Flemington in a fortnight. Co-trainer Paul Snowden was complimentary of Rusambo’s ability and has high hopes of the horse stepping up in distance. "We knew he was a quality horse, all he needed was to breakthrough and win one," co-trainer he said. "We're hoping he can get the 1600m, but there's every reason to think he can," Snowden said. "Every start we've raised the bar and so far he's handled it. "But we're not going to put him into something he's not competitive in." http://www.betzone.com.au/the-moonee-valley-wrap-rusambo-set-for-a-guineas-tilt
