Re: Johnnie Walker Championship (23-26 Aug) I will take a couple in this tournament because I expect the market leaders to completely dominate but only these 2 offer value for me... 2.5/10pts Each-Way T. Olesen to win - 22/1 with William Hill (1/4 odds 1-5) I have only been taking golf punting seriously for 14 months or so but this is my biggest bet so far on a single player. I really like the chances of Olesen this week and I think this price offers great value for a player who has everything going for him at the moment. He is still relatively new to the tour but his results so far would make the older pro's a little jealous because they make great reading for the Dane. He has recorded 8 top 10 finishes so far this year and one of those was a win back in April. He had a fantastic Open so will come over to the U.K. in a confident mood and a position of 27th in th USPGA is very respectable. The weather won't be ideal this weekend and his experience at the USPGA in difficult conditions will only help him going in to future tough rounds. The bit of recent form that really stands out is his 5th place finish in the Lyoness Open. That was a very tough tournament because of the weather and he played brilliantly for most of the 4 rounds but let it slip on the Sunday to give away what looked like a 2nd victory of the season. That disappointment will be a massive help to him in the future as he has found out what it feels like to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Those 4 days at the Lyoness Open were very wet and it should be the same here this week. He has put in good performances in tough conditions, done well at the Open over here and has had a very consistent year so I expect him to go close once again. 1/10pts Each-Way A. Noren to win - 33/1 with Coral (1/4 odds 1-5) Alexander Noren is another with plenty of top 10 finishes this year as he has recorded 7 already. He too had a good Open as he ended tied for 9th whilst his last 3 regular European tour outings have produced 3rd, 15th and 10th place finishes. He has been putting in solid round after solid round and I am willing to ignore his USPGA performance because he bombed out of contention with a score of 80 on that tough, tough Friday. With that Open results and also the 3rd at Aberdeen there won't be many coming over here with as much confidence as Noren and I think he will go well at a nice price.
