DeanK Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Wet track specialist Second Effort has added a Group 2 to his resume by taking out the P.B Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday. The freakish mud runner was aided by a gun ride from jockey Chris Symonds to sit handy to Zamorar who led the field at a moderate tempo. When Symonds asked the Clinton McDonald trained galloper to quicken on the Heavy 10 surface, he did so better than his more fancied rivals to come away with a 1 and 1 ¼ length victory. The win was Second Efforts first Group win and took his career stats on Slow and Heavy tracks to 8 wins from 9 starts. The consistent-without-winning Zamorar finished second whilst Ready To Rip ran 3rd. Western Australian star Luckgray who was having his first start on a rain affected surface was a close up 4th and didn’t lose any admirers. http://www.betzone.com.au/the-caulfield-wrap-wet-trackers-day-out Quote
