DUSTY STAR knows no other way than to lead so he is near certain to take up the running. TARIANA will be on his tail giving ZAMORAR the box seat. Just note that ZAMORAR was slowly away last start so a repeat would change the speed map. HOT SPIN positions next in line with GREEN BIRDIE not too far away today from a good gate. The rest of the field will settle midfield or back in a race where every horse should get their chance barring bad luck and track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: For some racing die hards this race signifies the start of the Spring Carnival. It’s a competitive edition of the Bletchingly, with a couple of handy types resuming and many of the Sir John Monash field which was run at Caulfield a fortnight ago. Of those runners GREEN BIRDIE and ZAMORAR were two of the best runs. GREEN BIRDIE was forced back from a wide gate and then failed to get clear running in the straight until the 200m where he accelerated quickly under what looked to be his own steam. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-well-backed-birdie-the-one-to-beat

Re: Caulfield Betting 28th July [h=1]Caulfield Betting: Yula to relish the class drop[/h] t172_96e_Yulalona_14608_n.jpg [TABLE=width: 461]

I’d say THE TIGER will probably lead from MANNOPOLY and STONEBLACK. COSMIC CAUSEWAY just behind them with YULALONA. ROWLAND is versatile but may settle back in the field over the 1800m. VOLANDO and LYONELL are likely to be next in line without getting too far back. I don’t think you’d want to get too far back in this field. RACE ANALYSIS: It’s the kind of race where a smart ride could win it and there’s no smarter rider than Glen Boss. He jumps aboard YULALONA today and I think he is the horse to beat. He is 3rdup from a spell, his two runs back have been good and have been of a horse looking for further. Last preparation 3rd up he ran an excellent 0.3 length 2nd to Zara Dancer in the Listen Underwood at Canterbury. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-yula-to-relish-the-class-drop
