DeanK
It was a landmark day for Ballarat trainer Darren Weir on Saturday when he trained the quinella in Saturday’s feature race the Sir John Monash Stakes at Caulfield. Weir saddled up 3 runners for the race, consistent sprinter Rue Maple, 3 year old filly Platelet and in form wet track specialist Royal Bender. The youngster of the trio got the money with Royal Bender a half head away 2nd in what was a thrilling finale to the race. "After the first 300 metres every horse was in the spot I wanted them," Weir said. http://www.betzone.com.au/the-caulfield-wrap--monash-quinella-for-weir
