He has allowed 2 runs or less in 4 of his last 5 home starts (7 runs in total allowed) where he has an overall 2.31 ERA compared to a 6.60 ERA on the road. Like Bedard to do well here and gets some runs support as the Pirates have scored 4+ runs in 8 of his last 10 starts including 4 of his last 5 home starts. Zito is 6-6, with a 3.84 ERA as he has allowed 4+ runs in 3 of his last 5 starts, as well as 8 runs in each of his last two road starts. He has gone 1-3 with a 3.25 ERA in 6 starts against Pittsburgh, and allowed 3 runs in the 4-3 home win over them in April but has lost twice in Pittsburgh. While he does tend to get some run support, the Giants have struggled of late and are up against a left handed pitcher which they have also had problems scoring against of late. Pittsburgh have won 4 straight games and are hitting well while SF have lost 3 straight games and like them to keep their roll on here. NY Mets -1.5 @ 2.35 pinnacle Santana is 6-4, with a 2.76 ERA as he has allowed 2 runs and 4 scoreless starts in 5 of his last 7 starts, with no runs allowed in his last 3 home starts. He is 4-1 with a 1.16 ERA in his 8 home starts and hould get some good runs support as the Mets have scored 5+ runs in his last 3 home starts (total of 22 runs). Santana is 3-1 with a 1.89 ERA against the Cubs and allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in the 6-1 road loss to them two weeks ago, so like him to bounce back from that start and win here. Wood is 3-3, with a 3.05 ERA as he has allowed just 1 run in his last 3 starts, as well as just 7 runs in his last 4 road starts. He opposed Santana in allowing just 5 hits in the 6-1 win but the difference between the two sides is hitting as the Mets have scored 5+ runs in 4 of his last 6 starts while the Cubs have scored 3 runs or less in 4 of Wood's last 6 starts. Mets have won 25 of their 43 home starts while the Cubs have won just 12 of their 43 road starts, so Mets look to have the edge in this game. Chicago White Sox -1.5 @ 2.35 pinnacle Peavy is 6-5, with a 2.96 ERA as he has allowed 3 runs or less in his last 6 starts (total of 15 runs) but due to a lack of run support, where the White Sox have scored just 2 runs in losing his last 4 starts, then his record does not reflect his good performances. He has allowed 7 runs in his last 3 home starts but with the addition of Youkilis, Chicago's batters have started to hit and score runs. Peavy is 1-0 with a 5.03 ERA in 3 starts against Toronto and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in the 4-3 home win over them last month, as they are hitting just .191 against him. Laffey is 0-0, with a 2.14 ERA and has allowed just 3 runs in his last two starts, but Toronto has lost both of them, as he has pitched only 6 innings and the bullpen then gave up runs. He is 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA against the White Sox who have hit him at .290, and given that Peavy has pitched for 30 innings in his last 4 starts and will go deep in his start once again here, then if the Chicago White Sox batters do not get to Laffey early, then they should get to their bullpen later on.
