That has mirrored the form of the yard who are flying at the minute and this one is 4lbs lower than his last win - which came in September last year. His last three wins have come over this 3m2f trip on decent ground so he's got his optimum conditions today, although he hasn't raced at this venue in the past. However, his handicap mark has come down sufficiently for some disappointing runs over the winter. This isn't a huge concern for me because his record over the summer months is much better. His form figures read 2112P3421 in the months June, July, August & September so his recent promising effort last month shows he's probably coming back to the boil and the yard are 2-7 here. I like the fact that the cheek-pieces are on and he's going up in trip. The ground's fine and he's only 2 pound higher than when last successful.
