Probably aimed at traders but would welcome advise from others

Probably aimed at traders but would welcome advise from others. I have been following the market lately just before the off (last 30 mins right until off) and noticed the following in three different races in the past few days. - race 1, odds of the clear favorite, who was at 1.69 for all day long, went from 1.69 to 2.18 AND all the other horses shortened in reaction (instead of just one other horse being backed heavily). - race 2, Clear fav went from 1.7 to 1.85 (again all the other horses shortened instead of just one) - race 3, clear fav went from 1.29 to 1.44 (again all the other horses shortened instead of just one) May not look significant but these are drifts of 20-40% in only the last 10-30 mins. race 1 was todays

2:00 Goodwood,

Sky Lantern. race 2 and 3 I will have to check my records later (think one of them was which Pearl Secret won). But doesnt matter which race it was, in all three races, fields were 5-7 horses with only one clear favorite. The second favorite had odds of at least 4.50. And though I have listed only three races, I have noticed this a lot of times.

And the most important thing. In all three races, the clear fav that drifted in the last 10-30 mins, WON! What are your theories on why this could be happening? In all three races, at least £1million was matched on betfair alone (excluding other exchanges and bookmakers whose odds moved in tandem the whole time. The bookies odds drifted as well which obv indicates they were following betfair). So if the market is efficient and there's enough liquidity and enough money on it to prevent one player from moving it so significantly in such a little time, what do you think is making the odds drift so much so fast? would welcome any theories as to why this may be happening.

Re: Probably aimed at traders but would welcome advise from others could it be simple as money coming in for all the other runners as the favs price is very short and alot of people wouldn't back at those odds and would look for something to oppose it or maybe each way money.
