3.25 Ascot Pastoral Player ew @ 12/1 BetVictor This horse goes very well fresh and actually won first time up last year. He was hugely consistent last year never finishing out of the first 6 in handicap company. His record at Ascot is good and actually won over CD on his last start. He also finished a good 3rd in the Wokingham on soft ground behind the talented Deacon Blues. There has to be a slight doubt over whether he wants the ground this soft, but he is in my ten to follow list and I expect him to be consistent again this year. Trainer has a great record at the track and has had a winner in the last week. He is drawn bang in the middle so the dazzler has a choice of where to go with him. If anything this race looks less competitive than some of the races he contested last year and he should be able to get involved even carrying top weight.

Re: BBOTD 12th May 3.25 Ascot King Of Jazz - wasn't given a hard race at Doncaster over 6f last time and trainer has commented that he's been saved for this race all along. The ground is a slight unknown but he's the sort that will get plenty of cover under Jamie and relish the hustle and bustle of this large field. 12/1 Hills, 0.5 pt EW
