Re: MLB: April 16th 2012 Picks Boston -1.5 @ 2.63 pinnacle Patriots Day in Boston so expect them to be up for this game, and they usually do well on this day, having won 6 of their last 7 games on this day. Expecting Bard to bounce back after allowing 5 runs in his opening start in Toronto, and has good numbers against the Rays bats, while Shields is 1-9 with a 6.75 ERA in 10 starts in Boston, so he has struggled there in the past. The Red Sox have been hitting well and like them to give Bard some run support here Record: 12-24 (-7.98)

Re: MLB: April 16th 2012 Picks

Boston -1.5 @ 2.63 :(
Well that was a fizzer Record: 12-25 (-8.98) Washington -2.5 @ 2.50 pinnacle Strasburg was very good in allowing just 2 hits in the 4-0 win over the Mets while Weiland allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in the 6-4 loss to Atlanta. He has struggled to go deep into his starts and with the Astros also having a weak bullpen, then the Nationals, who showing some form with the bat, they look better than the inconsistent Astros. Arizona -1.5 @ 2.65 pinnacle Saunders pitched very well last start as he did not allow a run in 7 innings but did not get the run support in the 2-1 loss to the Padres. Bedard has also pitched well in his last two starts without getting run support, but with the roof expected to be open in this game, then can see some runs being scored. Arizona's batters have been hitting the ball better of the two teams, and with Pittsbugh having problems against left handede pitching, going 4-11 in their last 15 games against LHP, then like Arizona, who have won 14 of their last 19 games at home to Pittsburgh, to win here Philly -1.5 @ 2.65 pinnacle Two aces go at it here, with Halladay so far, the better of the two. He allowed 2 hits over 8 innings in the win over Pittsburgh and followed that up with one run allowed in the 7-1 win over Miami. Lincecum has allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in the 8-5 loss to Arizona and then gave up 6 runs in the 17-8 loss to Colorado. While Halladay has struggled against the Giants in the past, and Lincecum has done well against the Phillies, like their respective current form to hold up here, as the Phillies also do have the better sets of batters. They won 3 of their 4 games in SF, and can see them winning again here

Re: MLB: April 16th 2012 Picks Padres (-1.5) 1pt @ 2.75 Bet365 San Diego may be 2-8, but 6 of those losses have been by 1 or 2 runs, they were mighty unlucky with the ruling of a triple play in the 9th last time, and they have went 0-6 against the MLB-best Dodgers (9-1). Luebke gave up just 1 ER in his first outing of the season whilst Jeremy Guthrie only lasted 3.1 innings, giving up 6 ERs in a 17-8 win over the Giants. I think San Diego, who swept the series here on the last visit, can show their record is undeserved by beating the Rockies tonight Pirates/Diamondbacks (under 7 runs) 1pt @ 3.15 Bet365 I've said before that I positively hate taking the Unders in a game, as there so many ways for your bet to get beaten, but I just can't ignore the value this line offers tonight. Erik Bedard's yielded just 3 runs in 12 innings of play so far, yet is hit with a 0-2 record thanks to the run-shy Pirates offense. Joe Saunders pitched 7 scoreless innings at San Diego on his first start of the season, yet couldn't gain a decision as they ultimately went down 1-2 to the Padres. 2 in-form pitchers v 2 toothless offenses, over 2/1 for under 7, with money back if exactly 7? Yes please! Phillies/Giants (over 7 runs) 1pt @ 2.70 Bet365 Conversely, I'm keeping faith with taking an inflated overs line at good odds in SF. Giants have only scored fewer than 4 runs once this season, so their bats are 'on', whilst Lincecum was chased in less than 3 innings by the Rockies after giving up 6 runs in no time at Coors Field. Whilst we obviously know he is better than that, I think this is a more than fair price with stakes returned if there's only 7 runs scored.

2012 record: 6-15 (-4.53)

Re: MLB: April 16th 2012 Picks

Nicely done too SS :clap Unlucky with the last one not to get that extra run
Cheers BC, none too shabby yourself ;)
Padres (-1.5) 1pt @ 2.75 Bet365 Pirates/Diamondbacks (under 7 runs) 1pt @ 3.15 Bet365 Phillies/Giants (over 7 runs) 1pt @ 2.70 Bet365
Nearly a sweep on the day with the game in SF notching a 7th run in the bottom of the 4th, but no more thereafter.

2012 record: 8-15 (-0.63)
