Jumps racing ~ Saturday 11th February

2:05 Musselburgh: West Brit 1pt win 10/1 Bet365 West Brit was about the second best of these on the flat. First time out over hurdles he was sent off favourite and during the early part of the race was going well, and then the Racing Post says he found nil after three out. For a horse that was going well it was highly likely there was something amiss and on his web site Charlie Longsdon says West Brit has had a wind operation. The tongue tie is also applied today. Presumably connections could have gone for a mid week novice yet they pitch West Brit back in here. The selection is still high risk as even if he is over his breathing problems he may not be good enough, however at 10/1 its just about worth chancing as West Brit does handle the going, its a long way to travel for a run, and West Brit must have been showing something at home to go off at a short price at Plumpton. 3:10 Musselburgh: Woody Waller 1pt win 15/2 William Hill Woody Waller has a touch of seconditus having joined John Wade from Howard Johnson, however those two runs look pretty decent form. At Wetherby Woody Waller was not beaten far behind Best Lover who came in to the race on the back of two wins. And last time out Woody Waller was second to Storm Surge who although was out of the handicap was getting loads of weight. Woody Waller has won here over hurdles handles the going and two miles is just about right.

Re: Jumps racing ~ Saturday 11th February 2.35 Musselburgh - Everaard - His form at Musselburgh is 1311, so he has a definite liking for Musselburgh. His three wins here are also over todays distance with his last race being a class 3, he looks to have conditions again today to take on the favourite. The only negative is a going concern as he may prefer better going than today's good/soft. Trainer Mrs K Walton is 5 wins and 4 places from her last 20 runners to a L.S.P of +26.5pts and the trainer/jockey combo is running to 5 wins and 5 places from 20 for an L.S.P. of +23.5pts. I can see Ostland as being a danger here as he is now on a rating he has previously won at. 2.30 Musselburgh: Everaard - 1pt win @ 13/2 Bet365 (BOG) 3.45 Musselburgh - Dontpaytheferryman - His four runs at Musselburgh have resulted in a 3rd and three 1st's. He will need to improve today in this very competitive race, but may be capable of running into a place. He won his last two races here under the jockeyship of K James, who is riding again today and takes off a useful 5lb's. Trainer/jockey combo is running to 5 wins and 7 places from 20 to an L.S.P. of +0.75pts. 3.45 Musselburgh: Dontpaytheferryman - 0.5pts E/w @ 11/1 Bet365 (BOG)
