€1000 laying Strategy?

Recommended Posts

Any help on this. I have a grand i want to double, how about laying €40/€50 on long shots that i am pretty confident wont win.. 2/3 races a day max. Flat racing only. 8+ runners. Quick way to the poor house or can it be achieved? Thoughts please .. if i got €50 per race it wouldn't take too long to double up. And then I'd bank my original grand and play ball with the thousand I've made. I understand the liabilities will be huge but if carefully selected, so can the profits..

But what you don't understand, and seem to be ignoring completely, is the size of risk. If you bet on odds of 2.00 the implied chance of winning is 50% Nothing you've said changes that in any way, all you do is shift the odds and strike rate but the risk is the same. Considering the bookies overround then yes, quick way to the poor house. " Carefully selected " needs to result in more than 50% wins on odds of 2.00. You need to prove that to yourself first before committing any real cash. And if you can manage that there are far better money management methods.
