Jockey's Bans

Eddie Ahern has got a 2 day ban, and Big Mac pressed him on the pathetic bans jockey are currently getting (Dettori's 10 days etc) what you you think should happen bigger fines or longer holidays, but 1 thing that should happen which was suggested that the jockeys can pick and choose what meetings they cant ride at

Re: Jockey's Bans I don't think they should be able to pick and choose willy-nilly, but there should be an option to postpone suspensions incurred for minor offences (i.e. 2-day bans) if they fall on Group 1 racing days. The suspension would then kick in the following day. I don't know if this happens, or not, but if I had a possible Group 1 winner in my upcoming book of rides, I would take a day or two off rather than race in low-quality races where I might pick up a ban. That is obviously bad for the sport, which needs its stars riding (and riding hard) as often as possible to keep the public interested.
