Critical Moment (0.5pt e/w 12/1 SJ) - Chester 2.20 This horse won in listed class last July and was staying on strongly over 8f on his seasonal reappearance a couple of weeks ago at Ascot. Although he didn't get 12f on Gd/Sft in the Chester Vase last year, it may be that he is now best suited by the 10f that he encounters today. Quick thoughts on the other five runners: Aidan O'Brien's Await the Dawn is the clear favourite, but he does carry a penalty today and doesn't have the benefit of the previous run. Distant Memories has done all his winning on good or softer ground. Dream Eater is 0/21 at Group level. Forte De Marmi was beaten 21 lengths on his reappearance. Light From Mars is a good handicapper, but likely not up to this class. Anyhow, Critical Moment seems great each-way value at 12/1.
