Jump racing Fri 29th April

Recommended Posts

4.35 Perth Been looking through the races and finally found a bet. This is a marathon event over 3m 7f, and many just wont stay. Twoston Davies doesnt often leave without some decent prize money at this track and PETITE MARGOT despite being 2yo now has a great chance of running to its chasing mark of last year where it finished 2nd off 20lb higher mark (!! yes 20lb!!). The trainers son is a capable rider now and great to see him on board. 9/1 with Stan James

Re: Jump racing Fri 29th April LATIN CONNECTION 2.50 Perth. 0.5 points each way. Yet to win over hurdles, but getting better and better, and although a rise of 5lb for finishing 2nd appears a little harsh, it still gives him very good claims in context with today's race. The trip and ground's not a worry, so all in all, should go close.

Re: Jump racing Fri 29th April Catleen 5.10 Perth. 0.5 points each way. Hard to win with, but consistent enough and should run her race again today. The trip and ground's fine and should get the race run to suit. Up a pound in weight, which isn't ideal, but most things are in place for a big effort.

Re: Jump racing Fri 29th April 6.45 Bangor - Gorge -Sportingbet 14/1 - ew I confess I've never heard of Mr Cosgriff the trainer & don't know anything about the horse bar its last two runs. It must have shown something somewhere in the past though to be in this handicap at 11-10lbs, second top weight. In fact its last run 11th of 21 in a big handicap at the National Meeting reads well in the context of this race so I feel inclined to venture a couple of shekels each way. Well done re Petite Margot - nice pick

Sport Horse Racing
Event Bangor-on-Dee 18:15
Selection Deputy Dog (Each-way)
Strength 5/10
Date 29/04/2011
Bookmaker/Price Victor Chandler @ 7.50
Reasoning Well backed LTO and makes chasing debut for yard that won 3 out of 5 runners yesterday. Chasers won two out of two runs yesterday. Trainer Jonjo O'Neill has two runners today with this being the last entry. Jockey booked is Alan Berry and he rode a winner for O'Neill yesterday. The selection was beaten only 7 lengths LTO and that was for 2m4f for hir first run beyond 2m. Back down in trip will help and this track will him well. There is a run-in of 325 yards. Penultimate at Huntingdon was for a defeat of 22 lengths and there is a run-in of only 100 yards there. 200 yards at Fakenham three runs back had him within 4 3/4 lenghts of the winner. Warwick LTO had 240 yards but the trip took too much out of him too soon.

Sport Horse Racing
Event Bangor-on-Dee 18:45
Selection Crystal Rock
Strength 10/10
Date 29/04/2011
Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 5.00
Reasoning Finished 3rd or better in the last 7 runs last year. Won 1, 2 seconds, and third 3 times. He is trained by Nicky Henderson so that form can be expected to improve. This is one of two entries from Henderson today. David Bass is booked and he's ridden in three races last year. Finsihed 1st, 3rd, and 2nd. He finished 2nd at Cheltenham in his penultimate run. There is plenty more from him, good price. The race is competitive and this horse brings the most consistent form.

Event Fontwell Park 19:35
Selection Carrig An Uisce (Each-way)
Strength 3/10
Date 29/04/2011
Bookmaker/Price Boylesports @ 15.00
Reasoning One of 2 runners out of 7 in the field that brings their best when held up. The other 5 runners will set a decent pace and hopefully get each other tired after 2 miles of that. That will help the selection in the last 2 furlongs of the race and have more in the tank for the run in of 1f10y. The selection is trained by Mrs A E Brooks who has a form of 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 1st the last 30 days. The last runner won 4 days ago.

He finished 2nd a year ago from being off for 7 months. Jockey Mark Quinlan is booked and he rode in 6 races with the selection last year. They finished 1st, 1st, PU, 4th. Chase debut tonight.

Sport Horse Racing
Event Bangor-on-Dee 19:45
Selection Rackham Lerouge
Strength 10/10
Date 29/04/2011
Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 3.50
Reasoning Won 5 of 9 career runs. NHF = 3, Hurdle = 1, Chase = 1. Making his fourth start over fences. There is more to come from this half-brother to leading staying hurdler/promising chaser Punchestowns. They are both owned by the same owner Mrs Judy Wilson. Trained by Nicky Henderson and this is his last entry of the night. Henderson also trained Punchestown. I think they have higher hopes for the selection and this is below the level he is capable of. His last 5 runs had been on softer ground and the form reads 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 3rd. His first 4 career runs was on on Good or faster and he finished 5th (debut), 1st, 1st, 1st.
