laying

Hi, just new to the forum and been reading all threads with great interest. I would like to do a challenge where I would start with a tenner and see how far I could get it, similar to another challenge I just read about on here. Only problem is I really can't get my head around laying? I tried to work it for myself but really couldn't, maybe I'm just being thick. Anyways would anyone be as kind as to try and explain this to me? P.s. sorry if this is wrong section, just seemed appropriate. Thanks in advance :D

Re: laying Hi tomeesha and :welcome I take it you know what laying is ? Your betting on something NOT to happen,so if you lay the 0-0 in football you want any other score but the 0-0 Horses is were you are betting on a horse NOT to win. But your liability will be more,so if you want to win say a fiver,all depending on the odds your actually putting up a lot more money to win the said fiver. Anyway thats the basic laymans terms,I am sure someone else can explain it more in depth better than I can.
