245 Cheltenham - Simarian 1pt EW @ 10/1 Bet365 High class hurdler,having placed and won in graded company, who has been hit and miss over fences in his 5 starts thus far. LTO showed a significant improvement however, finishing 2nd behind Pouvoir at Bangor over 2m5f and off a mark of 122 with Aodhagan Conlon taking 5lbs off his back. He lines up here off the same mark, with the same claimer on board and that good run lto can be built upon. Ground is the key here, with form on good or quicker over hurdles and fences reading 12P413212. Last 3 runs there are chases, so will act at his best on the ground. Also has good course form in the past, so taking the chance that on this ground and having placed off this mark, he could be weighted for a big run. 10/1 is a more than fair price for me to get involved.

Re: Jumps Racing - Thursday 14th April 2011 430 Cheltenham - Dantari 0.5pts EW @ 16/1 Paddy Power Tough class 2 handicap here where the selection has now slipped to a mark where he makes a decent level of appeal. Always leaves his racing out on the track and gives a good account of himself even when finishing down the field. Has placed off a mark of 128 as little ago as April at Sandown, before going on to run very well round here in the Coral Cup, finishing 6th in a very competitive field. Comes down to 123 here which is only 4lbs above his last win mark. Step up to 3m could be a big bonus and will really appreciate the ground. Figures on good ground read 58112516222736 all in competitive races, so should give a good account of himself here. Happy to take my chance here at this price.
