Unlucky McG :( I knew it would be close, but not quite THAT close. To be honest, I thought I was even further outside the qualifying group, and reckoned I was dead when Robbie won the leg to reduce the number of other qualifiers On Wednesday, I just couldn't resist defending my blinds with QQ, even though Bart had less than 2 BB's, and I could/should have just folded - unlucky to run in to Milber's KK. Having only been around for 3 or 4 months, I'm not exactly sure what the etiquette on these is. I'm wondering if I should step aside having already won a previous seat? :unsure On the basis that I've already used my "one time" on several previous occasions and highly unlikely to bink another, will just continue to play my normal game. Just so long as no-one has any objections. In the extremely unlikely event that I bink again, will sort something out so that all other finalists benefit. You made some tremendous laydowns there, I was playing my absolute A-game and set so many traps but you just saw straight through them all. You truely have a 6th sense. Very well played. Very mixed emotions at the moment. Obviously delighted to have outlasted a high quality field again and my game has improved beyond all recognition since playing against you guys, everyone of whom I rate and respect so highly. But to come back from 3bb mid-tourney was just uber sick luck and genuinely gutted that you (& others) have just missed out on a couple of occasions now. Every player who plays in our leagues and events will agree that the seat you won tonight is yours and you may do with it what you want, but whatever you do, never feel guilty or feel that you've done something wrong etc, like my dad said tonight at the tables, you buy your ticket and you take your chance! Ill not submit anything til midweek so it gives you a few days to decide on what you want to do, but IMO you would be daft NOT to play the big game, you won the seat, you want the experience and you DESERVE to play! A lot of you already know my recent history, health problems and frustrations. Finally arriving in PL via other poker communities and leagues however was the best thing to happen to me in a long time and I mean that (as I already wrote in these forum pages) long before starting to win stuff (which you'll be pleased to hear won't last, it's just standard variance albeit extremely biased in my favour currently it seems). Indeed you only have to look back a month or so to see me very much a consistent wooden-spoon candidate and I'm sure I'll soon have two of those as well :) but will wear them on the forum with pride. I'm enjoying playing every one of the PL events (well as many as I can realistically play at the moment) equally and just the same, from those with no prizes through to the ones with T-shirts, added value and of course major live event seats included. The friendship, comaradarie (absolutely no idea on spelling so just took a punt ;) ) and great banter displayed by everyone in this community is always the same in all these events irrespective of prizes on offer and is a credit to everyone involved. Punters Lounge is truely an awesome place to chill, enjoy a game surrounded by friendly yet uber-competitive & highly skilled players with superb sponsors who are highly supportive of us lovers of this game. It will be an absolute honour to represent this whole community in the forthcoming events (Luton confirmed & possibly now Coventry as well). I do however stand by my desire to share my exceptional good fortune and the incredible added value with those that I've shared the tables with over the last few weeks and hopefully many more weeks to come. Can't currently get my head around what would be the best way to do this but I'm sure it will involve the giving away of a small free % stake in me somewhere along the lines subject to the sponsors having no issue with this. Once finalised, I'll make it official by posting in the staking thread or other relevent forum area. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow where I'll be gunning for the overall league title this time around, but will equally be happy with the wooden spoon.
