Fully expect Barca to go all out for a positive result tonight, they will not want to play a decisive match in the Ukraine so i can see them going for goals as always.Xavi, Messi, Villa, Iniesta all start so a strong line-up for the Spaniards with also attacking full-backs in Adriano and Alves. Should be able to create plenty of chances tonight. And they have Busquets playing centre back tonight which may open the door for Shakhtar who are a dangerous side going forward and may need an away goal here. gl! In my eyes they were our toughest test in the competition and they did look value for being the holders. I am not sure if there squad has changed much in the space of one season so I am guessing they will have a similar squad to choose from to play Barcelona. If this is the case if Fulham can get up at home against them surley Barcelona can do the same with a handicap of -1.5. So I have chosen Barcelona -1.5 @1.67 with Betfair With the unpredicatble games of yesterday, surely tonight we have to see a cagey quarter final unders game. With the Barcelona game looking to be open I personally think Chelsea V Utd will go under. Even at old trafford penalties looks like the way this one is going. I would love to get a bet on under 2.5 goals for the 2 legs total goals. Completely agree but just like to add that I think the absence of Abidal and especially Puyol will make a huge difference. Puyol was missing for the away game at Arsenal wehre they lost 2-1 of course. He also didnn't start when they drew against Sporting Gijon and when they lost against Hercules back in September. Also as mentioned a hundred times already Shaktar are quite good on the counter attack, so for these reasons as well as the ones "Iamgooner" outlined I'll also be taking over 3 goals on the asian, at medium stakes! I personally rate Shakhtar highly and IMO they would do well in major European leagues. Just check the recent games between these sides: Barca 1-0 SD (ET goal) Barca 2-3 SD (even against Barca B) SD 1-2 Barca SD 2-0 Barca Barca 3-0 SD With Puyol and Abidal missing can see Shakhtar scoring here. Man Utd will be well aware of what happenned at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago, however Fergie has said in the press in the last couple of days that he will be pushing his team to go out and get the away goal as he feels that at Old Trafford Man Utd will be too strong and I agree. Man Utd will be fired up off the back of the big comeback against West Ham and to beat Chelsea away would certainly be the biggest victory of the season so far. Yay, won! Chelsea's dominance in home matches is superb, keeping the ball for long periods and generally winning several corners with the way they are set up. Obviously against poorer opposition but they dominate the corner count in games played at the Bridge; Chelsea 11-3 Copenhagen and Chelsea 12-1 MSK Zilina. Ferguson has said he is going to attack, like Redknapp, so expect a counter type tactic tomorrow night. Believe it or not, United don't force that many corners. You would think with the pace of Nani and Valencia on the flanks that they would but they've lost against two very good corner count specialists in the Champions League already; Marseille 5-2 Man United and Valencia 6-3 Man United. I do think this line is set a little too high considering Bet365 have this priced up at 20/21 and they are good judges of this market. Chelsea won 10 to 2 on corners in the Premier League at the Bridge. 3-5 (Corners) FT. Sorry to anyone that followed. Went exactly how I wanted it to with United taking the lead and the corner count at 3-2 to United however Chelsea were extremely poor and slack after the break. They have only played a handful of competitive games since their winter break (which could be viewed as a help or hindrance I guess) and Barca have started rotating players a bit, resting a few at the weekend and this will only continue now I guess as the league is sewn up. Chygrynskiy has a knock on his ankle and didn't play on Friday which would leave Shakhtar short of a fair bit of experience at centre back, having been at Barca he knows a fair bit about how they play and in my eyes would be an important miss, imagine they will do everything possible to get him playing, Eduardo is also doubtful. Fernandinho made his long awaited return on Fri after a fair few months out with a broken leg (I think?) but wouldn't have thought he would be considered for this game.. Its a game Barca must win imo because of Shakhtar's home record and I think they will. Messi hasn't scored in 4 games now which is a severe drought for him! Villa is struggling in front of goal currently but Pedro will be back and he has a very good scoring record so far this season. Puyol will be back for the return leg but Pique will prob line up alongside Busquets for this one. Shakhtar will have to be disciplined and the backbone of the side is set up to do this, the eastern European grind and the Brazilian flair in front of it. It might take a bit of time for Barca to get through but as I said I think they should be looking at 2 or 3 goals if they play to their optimum, I wouldn't rule out a Shakhtar goal on the break though and will be looking at goals and correct scores in this one. I will only be going for low stakes on this one, on the following: Over 3 Goals - 2.05 (bet365) 3/10 :) 3-0 - 7.2 3-1 - 12 :( Messi 1st Goalscorer -3.6 (betchronicle) 1/10 all :( The biggest one won but it wont be paying the mortgage :lol..didn't watch the game but sounds pretty comprehensive, no surprise, should have had the balls to do Barca on a handicap really..Chelsea were utterly dire, what has happened to Essien and Lampard!?
