Jump Racing 22/1/11

2:40 Haydock The Giant Bolster 3pt win - 12/1 (Bet365) A few novice hot-pots in the race make this price massive for the least fashionable trainer. Has only had two starts over fences, starting off with an easy win over Bob 'N' You, travelling well before sprinting away after the last to win by 11 lengths. Then went to Cheltenham and was bang in contention when falling at the 12th. He had been niggled a few hundred yards earlier but looked to come back on bridle before falling. This was a hot race with the likes of Time For Rupert, Hell's Bay, Mr Thriller, Reve De Sivola etc. it would have been interesting to know how well he would've fared. He likes Cheltenham, ran on to finish 6th behind Peddlers Cross at 200/1 at the festival and looked to be running another big race there. I think he is being very underrated in the current market.

Re: Jump Racing 22/1/11 3:15 Haydock Frankie Figg 1pt EW - 18/1 (VC) Surprised at the price here. Frankie Figg won pretty convincingly last time out at Aintree, making all to win by 5 lengths. Has only been raised 6lbs for that effort and could prove capable of bettering it. Has won over further than three miles once before, although that was a novice chase with a distinct lack of depth, his efforts since then have pointed to the horse favouring a trip like this. Soft ground is a bonus and he gets a nice weight of 10-9. Is a solid jumper, too bold at times but is up there with the best in that department. Johnson's stable are running pretty consistently at the moment and Hughes maintains his partnership with the horse here.
