Jumps Racing - 19th January

Recommended Posts

1.40 Newcastle Rupin win @ SP The step up in trip seemed to work the trick last time winning very easily over 3M 1F at Carlisle. To be honest did not really beat much on that occaision but goes over a similar distance today and with more improvement likely should run another big race today. 3.15 Newbury Flaming George win @ 11/4 bet 365 Won a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last spring on heavy ground. Was beaten 0.75 of a length by Baseball Ted on is chasing debut back in November. Looks to be a geniune chasing type the slight step up in trip will suit and with the ground to his liking further improvement is likely today. 3.50 Newbury Vamizi ew @ 10/1 bet 365 David Pipes Sona Sasta was very impressive last time out and looks very hard to beat recieving weight virtually all around. The best alternative seems to be Vamizi who twice finished second over fences at Exeter in the autumn following up the win at the course earlier in the year. The 10/1 offers a bet to nothing for me because Vamizi should make the frame here and would be the most likely to take advantage of any mishap with the favourite.

Re: Jumps Racing - 19th January 110 Newcastle - Quinola des Obeaux 0.5pts EW @ 11/1 SportingBet. Was a very smart bumper horse back in '09 when trained by Willie Mullins, before going wrong in the Champion Bumper and has never quite recovered the same sparkle he had then, despite winning a maiden hurdle race. Was always regarded to be a future chaser, who would pick up some decent prizes and whilst he didn't exactly shape well on his chase debut in November, it is likely that he will strip fit here and be much better for the experience. While the market leaders are to be respected, both have negatives about them too and it could be that they cut each other's throats with my lad nipping in and splitting them or beating both. He will appreciate the ground, should jump ok and has more than enough pace to trouble the market leaders here. At the price available, I cannot pass it up.
