Re: Flat Racing - Sat 15th Jan 2 for me this afternoon, first one below. 14.55 Lingfield This looks a decent Class 5 handicap over 6f with 12 going to post. I quite like the fav Picansort but, despite it running a good race earlier this week, the form of its previous run was let down by Clear Praise and it's possible the minimum trip could suit better. I'm not a fan of Chjimes in this grade, really needs to be racing in Class 6 to shows its best, whilst Al Gillani could go well but just not certain it's shown enough to take this. Gwilym's a decent type but I'm not sure where this 8yo will find the necessary improvement from so I'll take one EW. Tislaam is the one for me. A very consistent type who remains on a very fair mark and the stronger handling it receives today could be crucial. Form on the AW on and around this mark (1lb either way) reads 3-3-2-3-5. On all of those runs, I think this run has had excuses. The first over a furlong too far (7f), next time in an apprentice event which aren't always the best form guide and where it didn't settle early, whilst the next 3 can all be put down to racing wide. At Lingfield for starts 3 & 4, it was drawn widest of all and we go immediately into a bend over 6f here. Travelled strongly in both of those events and went down both times by under a length. Lto, the Fibresand wasn't ideal but again raced wide all the way and was leading a furlong out. The surface won't have helped its stamina but there was more than enough promise to suggest it remains in top form. A much better draw today, I think 10's is a massive price for this one.
