Longest Travellers System

Going to paper trail this as a system for a while to see if will make a profit, definately will throw up afew winners. I used to follow them some times when i used to buy The Sun newspaper at work its shows the longest travellers at each meeting and did have afew winners. One rule i used to follow was that it had to be the stables only runner at the track as i thought that the trainer wouldn't send just one horse on a long journey if they thought it had no chance. Here are the i will follow, i may change some things slightly as i go to get the best out of the system. Rules: 1) Must be trainers only runner at the track. 2) Must of travelled 150 miles or over to get to the track. (i may change this if i get too many qualifiers) 3) I will do it for each uk meeting of the day, i wont just take the longest travel, it will be any runner over 150 miles so could be afew sometimes but i may change this if there is too many qualifiers. I will start with two 100 points banks, one for flat and one for jumps. Depending on the price it will be 0.5 e-w or 1pt win.

Re: Longest Travellers System I seem to have come across a problem with this already, i've been looking at the meetings at Ayr for the 2nd and 3rd and there are qualifiers on the 2nd january but the same trainer has runners the following day also, would the horses of travelled together and stayed overnight? as the system will rely on there being only one horse from the trainer so this would not be so good.:unsure

Re: Longest Travellers System I will go ahead with this anyway although i may have to up the milege as there seems to be plenty at around the 150 mile mark so maybe its not that far after all. I will try this for a while though and see what the reulsts suggest. I have inclueded the trainers name aswell as this maybe give some clues which trainers are good for the system and the ones the are not good for it. Ferdy Murphy did have 2 runners today but 1 is a non runner so i will include his runner. Re: Longest Travellers System Thanks twinny, i'll be happy if it just keeps ticking over like that. Going to post up afew early ones as sometimes ive noticed they do get backed so hopefully i can get a better price. Absa Lutte has already shortened up from 16/1 with Hills and opened up at 20s with bet365. I'm always going to use BOG firms for this unless there is a massive difference in the prices. 3:00 Kem - Absa Lutte - 180 miles - M Mullineaux - 0.5 e-w @ 11/1 Hills 4:30 Kem - Brouhaha - 178 miles - Tom Dascombe - 0.5 e-w @ 10/1 Hills

Tim Vaughan's runner looks to have chances if ready after a break but in the same race Ferdy Murphy has one Kellystown Lass that didn't qualify at 142 miles and is Graham Lee's only ride of the day also. B R Millmans runner Money Money Money had entry at Kempton also which is 60 miles closer but has gone to Southwell instead which is interesting. Mcconnell looks to have good chances but is a short price its George Bakers only ride today, he had a winner yesterday on his only ride and it was the only runner for the trainer but only 129 miles.

Re: Longest Travellers System 2 non-runners from the selections that i thought had chances. 1 winner and a 11/1 place on the flat and 2 losers on jumps results in 4 point loss overall. 100/1 shot Rolline looked to be going well but found nothing over last few furlongs maybe he just didn't stay. 150/1 shot Rightcar Dominic was a fast finishing 4th after being under pressure early on, with another 50 yards could of been in the money, unlucky there. Brouhaha wasn't given the best of rides as went for a run up the inside and the leader squeezed him out and that was that may have not been good enough anyway. Mcconnell did the job at a short price and Absa Lutte was 3rd after a slow start. Re: Longest Travellers System looking back at the results today there were some winners and places that travelled over 150 miles but were trevelling in pairs so were not on the system. At kempton were winners of: 11/2, 6/1, 8/1 and placed were: 4/1, 9/1, 12/1 from 12 runners overall. Southwell there were just the 2 runners for the system and at Leicester there were a 66/1 place and a 13/2 place from 6 runners.

Re: Longest Travellers System Hi Kroni, one thing you may want to consider is prize money for the race. It's all very well a trainer taking a horse 200 miles to win £80,000 in a grade 1 race but when they're taking it 200 miles to win £3,000 in a grade 6 race it makes interesting reading...

I think what Danny was saying is quite true as the cost these days in fuel alone as gone up a hell of a lot. When it comes to CLASS 1 AND 2 races these attract the best horses from all over the place and the distanced travelled may be of less importance. Also in past post a couple of selections have been within 5 miles of another and it might be wise to see if the stables are from the same AREA as 2 trainers from the same place but still 5 miles diff from each stable may join forces and split the cost between them. This is 1 of the oldest systems or ideas thats been around for years but IT WILL BE INTERESTING to see your p/losses when following on a daily bases as this may be very good overall or at LEAST HIGHLIGHT some that do a lot better than others. Thiers 1 idea were you divide the miles into the prize money and the one that cost most to get their for the prize money on offer is the bet of the day So if you had 2 races on the card 1 for 6000 and another for 2000 and to horses had traveled similar distances the 1 going for the lowest prize money would be the pick. Will look with interest T%M

Re: Longest Travellers System Some good points there about the prize money so i'm going to start recording that from now on, as for two different trainers joining forces to split the cost is a tricky one and something i will have to look into. There were 4 non-runners so 5 winners for today from 13 selections and no places. 4 winners over the jumps for a nice profit and 1 winner on the flat results in a small loss. Re: Longest Travellers System Yesterdays flat selection was no good. I've put the prize money with the results from now on, on saturday which was the most profitable day so far there were winners in 20k, 12k and 9k races which goes against what we were saying but that is only 1 day and doesn't mean much at this stage. Flat Southwell Holyrood Tim Vaughan 01:40 181 - Hill 5/2 - unplaced - 1.5k One 2/1 winner and 12/1, 10/1, 9/1 for place money today including the 1-2 in the 12:55, Icebuster ran a decent race but didn't quite get a place and maybe of some next time out, an extra furlong might suit. Re: Longest Travellers System Thanks Rider, big gamble on the Neil Mulholland runner STONEACRE GARETH was available at 33s in a place early this morning now best priced 9/2. Neil Mulholland is 2 out of 2 so far on the system both 4/1 winners abeit over the jumps. Looks interesting.
