Choose just one horse (flat or jumps or 1 for both) that you think will either win a major race, pay it's way, spring a shock or make you rich for 2011. It can be a jumps horse you fancy for Cheltenham, Aintree or otherwise, a flat horse you look forward to seeing, a possible Guineas or Derby winner or maybe an all weather specialist you think will reward you with a few wins. We can bump this thread at the end of 2011 and see how we all got on. I'll start us off: Flat - It is the year of the Royal Wedding in 2011 and it's in the script for the Queen to have the Derby winner. Therefore the horse I'm nominating is Carlton House. Really impressive last time out at Newbury when bursting clear and potentially a very classy sort. Keep your eye on it next season, could win some good races if it's ability matches it's potential. Try watch it's last run on Racing UK site if you get chance. Jumps - Maybe too early to be trying to predict a Grand National winner but look out for Ballabriggs. AK tells me it will stay over hurdles in prep runs to protect it's chase mark. A beast of a horse, made to carry weight and just hops over fences. Was dead on it's feet when winning at Cheltenham but held on for the win.

Re: A horse for 2011 - feel free to contribute yours Blessed Biata will make a lovely 3 year old I think. Backed her on 2 of her 3 two year old runs and I really think she could turn out to be top class. She's speedy and has a good mix of stamina too. 2011 1,000 Guineas winner in the making. ;) Not sure what NH horse to pick. I reckon Fine Parchment could be turning out to be a nice type and could progress something along the lines of Midnight Chase, not to the same extent but who knows. I've a few other hurdlers to keep my eye on though. Barwell Bridge being one. He should of won there a couple of weeks ago but he'll make amends soon. Should turn out to be a nice staying hurdler, lots of time on his side too.
