Jump Racing 26/11

Recommended Posts

1:35 Newbury Oscar park 1pt EW - 16/1 (VC) Could be a huge price. This horse has gone extremely well fresh in the past. Won his maiden hurdle easily after a 9 month break back in 2005, finished less than a length second in a Pertemps qualifier in 2006 after a break identical to this one, and in 2007 had the race there to win (going well in lead) when falling and leaving it for Inglis Drever over this c+d. Last year the horse was eased into things over an inadequate trip (2m4f) but still stayed on behind the younger horses in fourth. Was campaigned over a few marathon trips which didn't bring out the best, but when racing at a realistic grade over the right distance, he finished second twice off marks close to today's. Good to soft ground won't be a problem and this trip looks to be spot-on, and at a level suitable for the horse. Has been to Newbury three times finishing second twice and as said, had every chance in the Long Walk won by Inglis Drever when falling. Age might well have caught up with the old fella but going fresh and at a course that seems to suit, 16/1 is huge.

Re: Jump Racing 26/11 2:45 Newbury Suntini 2pt win - 11/2 (VC) Rivaliste 2pt win - 3/1 (VC) Happy to take these two against the field. Suntini is another horse that goes well fresh and will relish the cut in the ground. Managed to beat Tataniano, who is rated 20lbs+ superior, on soft ground at this course in January. Raced twice more after that but didn't have conditions in his favour, something that he should have today. Rivaliste ran a decent race lto behind Dave's Dream. Nothing got to the winner that day and Rivaliste didn't have conditions in his favour. The cut will suit this horse too and is likely to come on for the run. Won at this meeting in a novice chase last year so is suited to the course, and with four winners yesterday the Nicholls squad is on fire.
