Mathematical odds / stake calculator

Hi all. I am trying to work out what formula I need to use to calculate stake levels dependant on odds to give an equal return for each scenario. For instance. I have £100. I have 4 selections at odds of 8.80, 6.40, 2.40, and 2.20. How can I distribute my stake to ensure an equal return for each selection? To complicate matters further. There may not always be 4 selections and of course the odds may differ. Thanks in advance and apologies if this is on the wrong forum

Re: Mathematical odds / stake calculator I created before something similar for my use, for 2, 3 or 4 selections; I've just uploaded it here, so try and see if it can help you; it's Excel 2003, 30 kB, you'll find it at the top of the list: http://goo.gl/GXGxf I haven't needed more than 4 selections, so if "There may not always be 4 selections" means "more than 4", it will probably be unuseful for you... Though, it has one major flaw: all calculations are done on the basis of 5% commission; I forgot to include it in separate cell, and later I couldn't bother to repair it; so, if you have different level of comission, it will be again unuseful for you, or at least not quite correct - if all your selections are in the same market, stakes will be correct and profit will not be correct, but if they are in different markets, both stakes and profit will not be correct. Since your bets may be matched at different odds than requested, or not entire stake, there is auxiliary column for "real" stakes and odds, if they differ from requested. If, by any chance, you need those 4 selections in Correct Score market, I have another calculator for that purpose, you will find it below previous one, and it has possibility to choose different .
