Re: Ascot card !? e round course is not fit for racing so they have removed the two races there and had to split two races on the straight course into 2 divisions to make the card up. It's unfortunate but the round course just doesn't drain like the straight course, and as it's a 50s night too better to have a night As a punting card though it is far from great

Re: Betting online while you're at the races Yea, what Brad posted was what I was referring to in my post

Re: Betting online while you're at the races It's hardly policed but if they see you on the iPad or similar they will kick you out. I'm not bothered about betting on course and this being part of it. I bet to win and want the best terms, on course it's a joke most of the time. By the time I go racing I usually have all my bets on already, unless there is a maiden or I want to see the horse and how fit it is then I will bet on course. You see on course backers and layers at Lingfield and other places not on the premesis but watching the racing without a time delay and taking advantage, and boxes being hired out on course with the same thing going on though.

Re: How many places are paid in the 1000 Guineas? Best to go to a site like oddschecker and have a look at each companies EW terms for the race
-
Re: Guineas 2000 - 5th May O'Brien won't have Camelot fully tuned for this, Derby is the main aim and definately his best chance, plus there are concerns about the ground. He is just not backable at the price at all Last time there was soft in the going description in the Guineas the first 3 home had won over a mile aged 2 and while that is not necessarily a great stat there is logic behind it with the mile in the Guineas being a bit more of a test. I backed Born To Sea after his debut win for the race, I'm not overly confident now but he could go well. I have backed Abtaal and French Fifteen over the last week though who will like the ground and are both classy horses in their own right. It is hard to know how the French form will translate here but I think the form may be good, and with the ground as it is they both have an excellent chance at nice prices. Abtaal beat FF over a mile last year and although FF beat Abtaal a few weeks back that was over 7f and my slight preference would be with Abtaal, but bet both.

Re: Key Race: The Lincoln Handicap Sat 31st March - Doncaster Not sure they have benefited with Amitola and Clockmaker the other side. Bookies have reacted as if high is best but not convinced

Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 Awful news Montjeu has been put down :(

Re: Key Race: The Lincoln Handicap Sat 31st March - Doncaster I liked him too Rob, but looks like he is going to run at Kempton instead

Re: Canford Cliffs I backed him to beat Goldi at Royal Ascot :lol

Re: Lady Jockeys Championship It won't really be that embarrassing due to the way it works, with it being broken down into wins but mainly done on strike rate. I think before there weren't enough riding to make it worthwhile, but now there are. I sound like I'm really behind it and sticking up it, I'm not bothered, but just think it is a decent enough introduction into racing
-
Re: Lady Jockeys Championship Not really because it's based on strike rate rather than winners, although it then has 3 tiers based on winners. The ri des will still be the same, for the same owners and trainers but I guess it just gives them something seperate to compete for. The ladies are not excluded from anything else. Don't really see a problem myself. It would be different if this excluded them from other competitions and rides but it just allows them to ride as usual with an added financial incentive Who is gonna get over 30 winners though? Turner and Gannon, any others?

Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 een hammered over the weekend for the Guineas

Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 Just seen Harbour Watch is pretty weak on Betfair although there haven't been any really positive reports for a while
-
Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 I have already backed 3 ante post. Regal Realm for the 1000 Guineas, who looks crap now, in fact most aren't betting with her now, but at one point her maiden win was amazing beating Gamilati and subsquent Royal Ascot winner Samitar, she then lost out narrowly to Angels Will Fall who went off favourite for the Lowther Stakes, but she has turned out to not be good enough unless she trains on amazingly well! Not even sure she is with Noseda? I have also backed Harbour Watch and Born To Sea for the 2,000. Harbour Watch thank god seems to be back on track for the race after a setback. He looked very nice and his Richmond win was excellent, with a very good time. He easily beat Casper Netscher who went on to win 2 Group 2 races after and not too far off in better company. He could make into a top miler. Born to Sea, the last son of the amazing Urban Sea, couldn't have been more impressive easily winning a Listed contest FTO at the Curragh. He was found lame after his next second but still could be a very good 3 year old. I am really looking forward to seeing what he can do, and hope for Urban Sea he turns out to be top class. For me Camelot is one for the Derby, not the 2000. Betfred said they laid a 100k bet on him today for the Guineas but I am not sure he will line up. I was against him at the price massively for the RP Trophy but he couldn't have been more impressive and the reports from Ballydoyle are all very good. At 3/1 though for the 2000 he is a bit of a silly price imo I have my eye on one in the Lincoln too but not looked in great depth yet.

Re: Are you coming to the races? Tomorrow and Friday! Canny wait

Re: Cheltenham Placepots Gutted mate. I won the placepot at Cheltenham on my brothers stag do, £700 from £2 lines, dad copied me as well so he won! Won it at Newbury once and got back less than I staked (about £30 form £32 staked) :( Will be on this tomorrow for sure

Re: Cheltenham Chat Rubi Light he will be on surely Harpsy Chord got a chance too

Re: The Cheltenham Bankers For me Quevega is the biggest cert of the week Why would you discount SS based on a bookie offer? That doesn't make sense. I am aware they have taken 3 horses on and they have been beat, but you need to take each one on it's merits

Re: Grands Crus goes RSA People always say plenty of time but this is not always the case, horses get injured, next years Gold Cup might be considerably better than this years line up. Probably the right choice really in the end though

Re: Tues: 1.30 Supreme Novices Hurdle
I have been saying this for ages, especially when he was fav. Open race for sure so would never rule him out and there was that work he did the other day seemingly beat Oscars well easily on a gallop but not sure you can take much from that. On paper though I just think he is opposable. Interesting Davy will not ride Midnight Game who I backed. Mullins said MG had a bad piece of work the other day. Still this race is one not to get onvolved with too heavily from a betting perspective but I am looking forward to it a lot as there are so many form lines coming together and we will only know the top horses next Tuesday afternoon. Personally just gonna stick with Dylan Ross and MG and see what happens!Steps to Freedom surely one of the terrible value prices of the festival. Form hasn't worked out at all and doesn't seem like a horse that does only enough. ;/
