Re: Clare Balding to take over as the face of Channel 4 racing It's funny how people have drastically different tastes in presenter :loon

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Last Friday (for a Friday) was terrible I definately think a meeting like the Shergar Cup has it's place. I went last year with a lot of non racing people and they all had a great day out and it raised their interest in the sport and they have definately taken more interest since Today is terrible though, not much worse than an average Monday but 3 AW cards is excessive. Still though, from a punting perspective just leave it. Some people (not referring to you BH) for some reason need to bet everyday. If turnover on these cards was poor then bookies would soon be asking questions

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread
Thanks for the heads-up' date=' no good to me as I have zero TV production experience etc but might be of use to someone :ok[/quote'] That is desirable, not essential -

Re: Help required from Irish betting experts please. Have you tried their Facebook page, and Twitter? They have an app too but I doubt this will be any more help than their site. They have an Irish edition of the RP so that is still key, I am not sure what info you need but you may be able to order back copies. Other than that The Irish Field may be worth a try

Re: The Jockey Thread Usually his biggest fan, but that ride from Buick on the Ed Walker horse was, well, no idea what was going through his head to be honest And I agree about the Hughes ride, not sure exactly why it was amazing? People are quick to claim a ride is spectacular if it flashes home fromt he back, not always the case

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread So Hereford is closing at the end of 2012, and so is Folkestone, although the latter they hope to reach a deal with the local council at some point and re-open the course

Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 They say he was just very immature as a 3 year old physically and mentally so this was always going to be his year. He is my favourite horse in training I think. I had him for big prices in the Derby and Leger but it wasn't to be! It will be interesting to see how his sister, Great Heavens, gets on in the Irish Oaks. Is a good renewal but I think she will go very close

Re: PL 10 to follow Flat 2012 Competition - Add Bonus Horses Now FYI Cirrus has recently failed a drugs test and has been pulled out of his last two starts.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Flat season has been just that, flat Hardly bet much at all the last few month. This is starting to do my head in. Already starting to think about the jumps!

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread It's not actually rained at Sandown somehow. Ground is getting quicker the clerk just said, but rain is forecast for tonight and tomorrow so will change

Re: Goodbye All...also a warning Good luck Andy You have already taken the difficult first step. Hope things work out

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread I much prefer the new Sporting Life site. Old one was terrible imo. People always hate change, especially when you are used to it and how it works etc. The old shows like Form Factor are going to be incorporated into the rolling news show but not actually boxed off for 45 minutes/an hour. It really should be a lot better

Re: Aiden O'Brien on So You Think Colour Vision the latest Group 1 winner previously battered by Frankel For the record I would back Frankel over 7f V BC (odds aside)

Re: Aiden O'Brien on So You Think But he isn't beating plodders though is my point And he has beaten Helmet by about 17 lengths with ease, not like it was 4/5. He wasn't going to be 80/1 + because of the EW terms with a short price fav so bookies weren't gonna make him a big price. He has beaten a I would like to add I am not knocking SYT either. I was a really nice performance and he won cosily but it's not good enough form to start gloating and shouting about in my opinion. Just good

Re: Aiden O'Brien on So You Think How can people keep saying Frankel beat nothing. That is not true. It is boring watching him beat the SAME horses, but look at his career and the Group horse that have some out all of his efforts. He beat the King George winner in his maiden and most horses since have won multiple Group races since, so that statement is nonsense

Re: Aiden O'Brien on So You Think I don't think anyone is saying it wasn't a nice win. But some have gone the other way with the praise imo

Re: Aiden O'Brien on So You Think Godolphin horse had a poor ride as well. To be honest I think he could be very good

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread You can currently see me on SSN on loop walking past Joseph O'Brien when interviewed - lol

Re: Flat Racing ~ Wednesday Aug 22nd Far too short to back now and almost certainly Pricewise. Zero Money has a massive pull in weights from the Windsor run and although Rex is lightly raced and improving I don't think there is any value left. On top of that he is drawn on one end which is probably not ideal. Tough race though
