    PaddyPower have a $5k freeroll each day this week. Reg is open now but for a max of 1000 players, currently less than 500 if anyone can get in quickly. Here's hoping :hope

    Chances are you wont ;) That's why being patient is always the key to heads up, that and a little bit of trapping :lol

    Re: Trip Q's in 5 card draw? If you look at his play, he's discarded 2 cards also, so unless he's made a real loose raise preflop, he's got trips also. Considering you have an A & K in your hand, as robilaruk has said, it's unlikely that he's got a higher set. There is the risk he's filled a boat, but it's a definite call IMO. Nice to see some discussion on the strategy of other games of poker :ok Edit: Also notice you've discarded 1 card, i really like this play, it's potraying 2 pair, so in addition to my comments above; i think a raise is definitely an option.

    I think that Valencia will be a surprise...
    I agree that Valencia can pull off something at Stamford Bridge. They're coming back off a good home win at the weekend 3-2 against Espanyol so confidence should be high. David Villa in superb form, a goal & 2 assists in the game and should be able to take his form to the Bridge. He also takes their penalties & after his scorcher against Inter in the last round he should fancy his luck from any freekicks within 35 yards. David Villa to score anytime 3/1 @ PaddyPower. 9/2 on Valencia is huge IMO against a Chelsea side who aren't very impressive of late. I think Valencia can steal the win here. A little stake also on David Villa first scorer in a 1-0 Valencia win 50/1 @ PaddyPower.

    I like the look of Appleford Al in the 9:45. He's running in trap 3 (which is 4 from 5 already tonight) & he also coasted home in the same trap in his previous heat with a very solid performance. He's available at 11-2 currently which i think is very good e/w value :hope

    Re: Heads Up Starategy It's quite tough playing those kind of players, i recently was up against one and it was a nightmare. Every time i called the blinds he'd make a huge overraise. I decided since i could afford the blinds that i'd bide my time till i had a quality hand & try and trap him. I think thats the best you can do, KQ i feel is one of the best hands you can have to trap her since there's a lot of hands they can push in with that you have dominated. If it is all in every hand, depending on the blinds (if you can afford them), dont risk your whole tournament on a 60/40, wait till you feel you're close to a 70-75% favourite and cripple their stack then. You've then minimised the damage she can do with her all in's and next time she pushes you can afford to call with one of those A-rag/K-rag hands.

    Re: Straddle Bets...oh boy! Ive seen once in the local casino near me in the 1/2 blinds; UTG straddles to 5 next position to 15 next position to 25 next position to 50 It's just full of gamblers with money to spend having a laugh really :lol

    i would have re-raised the AK vs an all in and single raise. but i play TAAG shorthanded :)
    Im quite happy with the call with AK since it is an unmade hand. Ill wait till i hit and then push in. The original raiser is most likely playing with a mid-high pair and if you push in (although you're getting great odds with your 2 overcards) there's still slightly more than a 50% chance the pair will hold up. Im happy with waiting till i know my hand is best and then push the rest in.

    Re: Cash game hands Well done staffy, you're playing some great poker now i see, keep it up mate :ok Just a sidenote on the kings hand, when he checks it into you on the flop; bet out. You've been playing really tight, your table image will most likely have been recognised, whose to say you didnt raise with AK/AQ? Follow through your raises with a bet out on the flop, if he calls you most likely have 2 free cards to hit your set and cripple his stack as he'll check to you on the turn 90% of the time. If he comes over the top on the flop you can muck it and continue with the game ;) Great to see you improving your game though, becoming a top quality player :ok
