  1. Re: Rebuy Strategy

Not saying I agree or disagree. But why wouldn't you rebuy if everyone else is. Surely it means you are giving them free chips.
I think it depends on your performance so far. Lets say you've bought in for $xx, built up your stack to 5*starting stack without being knocked out & now it's time for addons. Ill opt not to addon, reason being ill let the other players build up the prize pool for me. I dont like to addon here as im paying double my original $xx for 16% more chips. I dont find value in this and will continue in the tournament without the addon. In my opinion, entering a mtt is backing yourself e/w at (# of buyins)/4 - 1 & dont find it necessary to addon here.
  2. Re: Feedback please???

Thanks for your comments chaps. Can I ask what sort of bet you would have put on the River? About 3/4 the pot? Or more? The more I think about it, the more I'm kicking myself for not doing so. I'm fairly certain that Bestdealer would have called anything upto about a pot sized bet and both the others would have probably folded (its easy to say that now I know I had them beat :) ). Unless I'm certain I'm ahead, I think I'm quite weak at raising on the river. Even when I put decent size raises in after the flop and after the turn, if someone checks all the way to the river I tend to get a bit nervie :$ (Which means I'm probably losing money). Again, thanks for your comments. You've definitely given me something to think about.
He had $6.70 left on the river, i think you toss $4 into the pot hoping he'd continue his sloppy play & come over the top of you with his king-rag.
  3. Re: Cash game hands

I should have won more from this hand and reraised him after the river. I think I would have got a call but was worried he had QQ.
Nothing wrong with your call on the river, a min-raise is a sign of great strength, made the correct decision in my opinion :ok Nice scoop in the first pot :notworthy Edit: Only just saw there was 3 hands posted; in the AJ hand, i think a min/2*bet raise on the flop would've been best ere. Other than that, great profit on the night :)
  4. Re: **Poker Sunday 1st April**

Anyone else still in the Mansion $2k?
Out in 57th for $5 :sad First time playing there, think the setup is great. The tournament paused for a couple of minutes around a dozen times though (100's of places before the bubble), did my head in :wall
  5. Re: Feedback please???

    Halibut / curtains / radiator' date= no.

    Pre-flop

I’d pass KJo in that position. But, you seem to know your opponents, so maybe your judgement overrides generalisations. When it gets back round to you, making up to 0.20 is correct, no-one can come over the top of you.

    Flop

I don’t agree that the flop is good for you, not against one foe, definitely not against six.

You are almost certainly behind. You know you have to improve your hand, but you should think “improve to the best hand”. On the turn, of 47 cards, you have 3 outs to the nuts, 1 to a very good hand (though you may be losing to a flush), and 6 to a hand that’s more than likely to still be behind.

Against that, you complete the betting again. Ok, call. If you know that you’ll get paid off if one of your 3 good outs comes, then your implied odds are excellent. But, be aware that if you hit a good Ten, you have to hammer the turn, so that anyone on a flush draw doesn’t have odds to redraw on you.

    Turn / River

As Masterplan says, your foes seem real passive. I agree that you can raise the end. You’ll likely only get a reraise from a KT, and in that case, why did that player slowplay the turn?

Agree with everything said here :ok
  6. Re: Dubai World Cup

On a side note here; Just got a text off a buddy, saying that Invasor has failed a drug test. He quoted from paddypower; Haven't been able to find a news story on the net yet to back this up. Anyone can confirm?
Argh!!! :@ Just rang me and asked me what date it was, silly me :lol:lol:lol
  7. Re: Dubai World Cup On a side note here; Just got a text off a buddy, saying that Invasor has failed a drug test. He quoted from paddypower;

Due to the failed drug test of Invasor, Paddy Power are refunding all losing bets on the Dubai World Cup market
Haven't been able to find a news story on the net yet to back this up. Anyone can confirm?
  8. Re: ffs,,,ok analyse this hand

i have to disagree with your comments here jimany, although plum has a great starting hand, but you say 3 cards under 8 come he as the stone cold nuts not nessacarily so if 3 cards under 8 come and one of them is a 2 hes in trouble. So many players with a2 always think there gonna win the low but he as no back up with no other low cards so if he as a2 and 3 low cards hit and ones a 2 and then next 2 cards are high then your fukecd, just my opinion. :ok
Apologies. Did mean 3 non A/2 low cards. However if another one comes then he's back with the nuts :lol:lol:lol
  9. Re: Contrary System (US Sports based) Just noticed this thread, nice profit so far Val :ok Unlucky with the previous losing streak, im sure you'll bounce right back ;) I was thinking of an idea while reading through the thread. Regarding games where there might be 2 ATS teams playing each other, one with a winning streak and the other with a losing streak. If playing in different games you'd be backing one and laying the other. What do you think of a double stake in such games? Thought the bigger stake could be profitable due to both teams contributing to your selection. Anyway good luck for future bets :hope

  10. Argh!!! :wall Went into the 5 card draw freeroll on Bet365 as i feel this is one of my strong games & see how id fair out in a draw mtt. Got my chips up to 7*Starting stack playing for over 2 hours. Then a popup which read;

    Tournament Cancelled
    :@
  11. Re: Dubai World Cup

End of the day it got beat by a quality horse but to finish last raise some questions, I would have understood more if it was a case of getting beat fair and square but the most frustrating thing is I know for fact DC is better than what we have seen tonight. Ah well that's cricket for ya.
Just before the turn to the home straight, it did look like he was making a move on the outside, but fell back pretty quickly. You see this? Maybe a kickback of dirt? Or a slight bump from another horse? They were pretty tightly packed coming into the corner. The camera angle did change just after it so cant be too sure what it was.
I also backed Discreet Cat to quite big amounts, partly due to Carl's write up's but I chose to back it after its winning form against Invasor over a mile. I genuinely think that Discreet Cat IS a better horse than Invasor even over 1m 2f and he just didnt show his true colours today. Maybe due to stable form ?? Whatever happened tonight: DISCREET CAT IS STILL A TOP CLASS HORSE - NO ARGUMENTS.
In the same boat and agree fully with the fact that he still is a top class horse. Id still like to thank Carl for the tip, great writeup & through watching his past performances i strongly fancied him also. He'll bounce right back and we'll all get our money back with interest :ok
  12. Re: ffs,,,ok analyse this hand Take Plum's hand for example. He has AA2J, this is one of the best starting hands in omaha H/L. If 3 cards under 8 come up on the board he has the stone cold nut low hand & has picked up half the pot already. He also has the best starting High hand, this is what i mean by ultra tight. Not taking a stab at you, but if you adapted that tight style, you'll be able to get people to push in like he did to you. Just using it as an example. Good luck for future games :hope

  13. Re: ffs,,,ok analyse this hand Teaulc, this is the one mistake holdem players make while playing omaha. They think their TP with a strong kicker is ahead, now some of the time it might be, but if you bet it you're beat 90% of the time & will lose money. Remember the other player has FOUR hole cards. Now i do love omaha cash games (prefer high but ill take a nibble on H/L also). I play ULTRA tight, which i feel is the best strategy playing omaha. I will mainly play only with the nuts & will gladly lay down a house on the river if i feel the other player has a bigger one. Tighten up your starting hand requirements severly, rarely raise preflop (as you will get called no matter what) and always be the one in control of the hand when you hit (as when you've hit, you'll be ahead 95% of the time). Pot bet all the time, and also come over the top of anyone who bets into you. You will soon find your groove in omaha then :ok

  14. Re: Dubai World Cup

Any word with what went wrong with DC?? I saw the race and thought the horse didn't look right, a bit too quiet in the stalls while they were try to get the last one in. :unsure
I noticed this also, he was very calm in the stalls. Looked pretty relaxed with Franky just sitting back on him, while all the others looked pretty energetic & moving around alot. Didn't know if it was a good or bad thing.
  15. Re: another nice pot Love the slowplay in the 2nd hand after flopping the nuts :nana With the first hand however, you've flopped the nuts, still have the nuts on the turn but you just called with 4 players in the pot. I really think you should be pushing all in here, there's now a diamond draw on board, and also if the board pairs you dont know where you are. I have no idea why he's playing his 5-4 so strong, it's nowhere near the nuts. I think you could've gotten into a lot of trouble when that 2nd 5 hits on the river, as either of the other 2 players could've had a better high or low hand than you.

  16. Re: Peoples Choice **Poker Saturday 31st March**

Is this still running? I thought Bet365 had changed their freeroll schedule (thread somewhere)' date=' but I haven't checked the lobby. :unsure[/quote'] Could've sworn i saw it yesterday & even registered. But nowhere to be seen now :eyes
