Yes, you guys have done very well to stay up and it's a good platform to build on. Next season will be tougher. I do feel the three teams coming down won't be as strong as the three going up but I do think the three coming up from League One could well be stronger than the three going down. I've been impressed with you both times we've played you. You beating us 1-0 flattered because you could've won by more and even our 3-1 win over you in the return fixture didn't fairly reflect what was a more balanced game. Be interesting to see what summer business you do.

This season was a success with our main aim being just to avoid relegation. It was an even better achievement considering we had the 2nd lowest budget in the league, playing home games in Birmingham, little match fitness at the start of the season compared to other teams with League One finishing in March but the Championship continuing during the summer, and also long-term injuries to the spine of our title winning side. A crucial 7 days in April ensured our survival with 3 wins in the space of a week and ensured we avoided a nervy final few games of the season! Hopefully more of the same next season and our young squad will have gained a lot of experience from a full season in the Championship. We’ve been told our budget will slightly increase and will be roughly a 4th bottom budget, so hopefully we can find some hidden gems again. Hopefully we can sign Leo Ostigard and Matty James permanently (both out of contract) as they have been key players in the 2nd half of the season. The best thing to happen this season was in March when a deal was struck for us to return to Coventry next season

In terms of this weekend, it will be nice to get a win in our final “home” game at St Andrews. It’s been a good home to us over the 2 years and we have got a good record there. We go into this weekend with injuries to key men Leo Ostigard, Liam Kelly & Matty Godden. Millwall have just had a tricky spell recently after a really impressive second half of the season. They will be a very different side to the covid hit Millwall team we beat early in January so expecting a tough test this weekend. Very hard to predict a result, no pressure in terms of relegation will hopefully make it an open game.

Mate I really hope you're right with that one
It's a really big game for us now. We've got a run of games against teams around us/bottom half teams so got to pick up a few wins. We didn't really deserve to lose to Middlesbrough, it was petering out into a draw and then Middlesbrough snook it late on. Fair play to them though, their bench was strong (Assombalonga, Bolasie, Mendez-Liang, Watmore, Saville).
The worrying thing for us was no shots on target against Middlesbrough. Judging by Rooney's 6 changes in midweek and his interview in the last few days, he's targeting this game.
Our motivation is that talks are at an advanced stage about us returning to the Ricoh Arena next season so the players will want Championship Football for themselves and the fans potentially in front of a big crowd next season.

Totally agree with that treble. Although Derby have been a bit more defensively solid under Rooney, Cardiff are on great form. Definitely fancy your lads to beat Luton at home and also Watford to beat Wycombe.

@StevieDay1983 what were Middlesbrough like on Saturday? We've got them tomorrow night at home. If i was betting on it then it would be a low scoring game for me. Definitely under 2.5 goals. We've had quite a few 0-0's at St Andrews this season. 9 out of our last 11 games at St Andrews have gone under 2.5.

Fingers crossed mate, we could do with sneaking an unexpected win in one of our next 3 tough fixtures (Norwich, Brentford, Swansea). Got to bounce back from the Cardiff game and show some real fight.
Bad news for us is that our LB/LWB Sam McCallum is ineligible to play against his parent club Norwich, so somebody will be playing out of position tomorrow night, most probably Jordan Shipley covering at LWB. Robins said he ideally wants to revert back to 2 up front but the lack of fit strikers has hindered this. With Tyler Walker getting some minutes on Saturday he might be thrown straight back in. We'll still be missing key players in Godden, Dabo and Liam Kelly.
It will be a really hard task keeping Norwich quiet with the quality they have up the top end of the pitch (Pukki, Cantwell, Buendia).

Well done on the win mate.  Dreadful performance from us, Mark Robins said it's the worst performance of the season with no fight. But credit to Cardiff for taking full advantage. Kieffer Moore took his first goal well, nice turn inside. A couple of defensive mistakes for the 2nd goal. Fell asleep and didn't stop the quick free kick for the 3rd, albeit a nice finish by Josh Murphy. The only positives for us today were Tyler Walker got a good half hour under his belt and Birmingham below us lost at home. Cardiff definitely deserved the win and a very good start under Mick McCarthy.

Hopefully mate, getting quite tight down the bottom though. Yeah, 2 of our best halves of football this season and we ended up with 0 points!  Think a draw was probably the fair result last week. You were much the better team in the first half and then we dominated second half.

Haha!  Hopefully we can deal with Kieffer Moore again, we usually defend well against the big aggressive players (Moore, Akinfenwa, Deeney, etc). I'd imagine Ostigard will be in the middle of the 3 centre backs and up against Kieffer Moore. He coped really well with Troy Deeney on Saturday. That's right there a good improvement of form under Mick McCarthy. It will definitely be an interesting game. May the best team win

One thing I can guarantee is that you will win the midfield battle!  I think that's why we avoid that part of the pitch! Yeah, I can see a tightly fought game too. I did watch it. We are playing decent at the moment. Players got their tails up again thanks to Big Mick. Rotherham are now pushovers and nearly grabbed a point. I'm keen to see how our game plays out.

Coventry played like a play off team in both 2nd halves against us, should move up the table as their players come back.

Literally can't call any of our games mate. It's such a good league in the sense almost anybody can beat anybody. We were plodding along nicely till our loss against Forest and teams below us picking up good wins (e.g. Sheff Weds doing the double over Bournemouth, Rotherham with some good wins too, etc). But we got a decent draw with Watford at the weekend, although we were the better side on the day. We are really struggling with injuries at the moment and missed big players for large parts of the season who were mostly the spine of our League 1 title winning team (Marosi, Rose, Dabo, Kelly, Godden, Walker to name a few). But having said that we do play on the front foot and play some nice football. We've got quality in centre midfield and hopefully Matty James and Gus Hamer can win the midfield battle with O'Hare bombing forward as the more attacking midfielder. Our defence has tightened up since around November time and we can be difficult to beat.
I'd predict a tight affair like our first meeting this season, maybe a 0-0, 1-1 or a 1-0 either way. Under 2.5 goals.
Good win for your boys tonight. Did you watch it?  Play well?
