  1. Re: Bounty Bonus All right guys...it looks like the bounty is a definate addition then! Sheedy I am sorry but I cannot backdate the games to include this. All games from now on will have this included in it and the scoring changes will be there for all to see in the thread, but I think its a bit unfair to backdate old games and change the goalposts for them so to speak. Jez

  2. Hi everyone, This is happening next tuesday (9th Aug) - this time I thought we could get the thread up nice and early! I realise that if the game is to be played on betfair paul needs some time to set it up....so if you can paul set it up there, otherwise we can have it on ladbrokes again. I will update the league standings from the last game today and the prize money table...... Also this game will see the introduction of the bounty hunter bonus! The exact details for the scoring are in the poll thread, and I will also update the league thread to explain them Jez

  3. Re: A hand I played last night in a live game - YOU make the play! I will post the next street now just for you CJB...and also because I am going round to said opponents house for a home game for the rest of the day! I decided that I almost certainly had the best hand here preflop and was going to play. My decision was then call or reraise. I would be out of position for the rest of the hand which is a big disadvantage, so perhaps a reraise to pick up the pot as it stands would not be too bad a play. If I had less chips I could well have gone for this. However in reraising I was only going to get played with if I was beaten and I did not want to jepordise my good position in the tournament by going into a situation as a huge underdog. True he could have a better ace and things could get ugly if an ace flops, but at least I would have a chance to make a decision as to my hand based on more information if I just flat called and played a flop. Taking all this into account I decide just to smooth call and defend my blind..... Flop : [[[[[&[[[[ ? ]]]]]&]]]] YOUR MOVE? (I had to act first) Jez

  4. All right guys its time for another one of these threads..... This is a bit more of a tricky hand to write up here....I had tough decisions on every street so I think I will post each street up 1 by one and see how you would have all played it, then I will post up how my thinking went and what I did on that street before moving onto the next...OK this could sake some time :lol Anyway.... Last night I was playing a ten pound rebuy PL tournament in a casino, and we were down to the last two tables. There are 7 players at my table. I have about 35k in chips as does my opponent in this hand. The chip leader for the tourney with over 100k is at our table but he is of no consequence, very loose passive and just lucky on the night - he is not to be feared. Everyone else at the table is short stacked in comparison to me and the opponent. Opponent is a good friend of mine, another pro player he really has some good MTT results on the net and isdefinately one of the best in the place. Not scared to make a power play and capable of playing lots of holdings he is definately a tough and tricky player. We are having a great laugh together and clearly trying to butt heads for the crack by opening with raises against each other and playing most hands. Blinds are 500/1k - it is pot limit. On my big blind it is folded around to opponent on the cut off who I know is ITCHING to raise my BB (and I am equally itching to defend it!) - I feel anything he wants to play here he will come in for a raise with. Indeed he does raise the pot and make it 3.5k to go. Folded around to me on the BB I look down and see !){ |||||&|||| Your play? (Fold, call or reraise) Note : Plow-King was present at the table for this hand and he is not allowed to post up the results of what actually happened! Jez

  5. Re: Raked Hands Requirements any hand you are dealt cards in that is raked counts as a raked hand for you. So you cant sit out, but folding all the time and playing very tight will still get you there...the party software tells you exactly how many you have accumulated and how many you have left to go at any time (click on cashier...bonus) Jez

  6. Re: MTT Table Balancing It just depends where you are I think... Some (the majority I think) sites do it seemingly at random, others like bet365 try to put you as far away as possible from the blinds and pokerstars (the best imo) trys to pretty much put you in the same place in relation to the blinds that you were before - which it manages to do very well. In my local live game they move whatever player is going to be on the big blind in the next hand and allocate them a random seat at the other table. Jez

  7. Re: Ladbrokes Now phone and find out, or email - they are good about this sort of stuff i will imagine you will all just get the entry fee back in your case Jez

  8. Re: Cains in line for PL modship? Think he is away on holiday now but sure he will see this thread when he comes back.... Happy Birthday mate....all the best :clap :clap :clap :clap (and LOL when I saw your profile come up randomly on ladbrokes website this morning) Jez

  9. Re: PL Monthly Tournament I really like this idea......count me in for sure. I'm not an MTT man really but ideally I think we want quite a big field and a buy in for 10 dollars or below, that happens every week around the same time...lets have a look around and see. Jez

  10. Several people have mentioned this in the past, I will put it to the vote - the way I suggest we implement it is... Whoever won the last PL league game is the "bounty". For knocking them out you get 5 extra league points. Should said person not get knocked out and win the game THEY claim the bounty points... Bounty or no bounty guys?

  11. Re: Freeroll Saturday Oh yeah and a small pot by this time but nonetheless amusing...... Folded round to me in the small blind, I have 120k chips and just flat call with !&!!!! -.-.-, The big blind has about 20k and he checks, 4k in the pot preflop. Flop : ? ££&££ '''''''''' Not bad for me at all, I consider betting but instead decide to go for a check-raise. The BB is a bit of a mouthy **** who thinks he is the macdaddy and surely he will step up to the buffet if I check. I check and straight off the BB goes all in for 20k! Woah I think....calling an all in is very different to raising all in (which is what I had planned) so I took a step back to think a second. The BB had about 10 big blinds left and there was just the two of us preflop. I really think if he had an ace he would have raised me preflop, infact I am sure of it. Normally this sort of bet would scream DRAW to me however there is no draw on this board apart from ridiculous inside straight draws (which he would have had cards he would have raised me preflop with to have). I can only guess that he doesnt really want called with this bet (I mean if he had slowplayed AA and hit top set with me checking to him he is hardly going all in is he?) and I must put him on a 7. I am a little worried he has a better king than me but I feel its 70% 7 20% king 10% Ace. After thinking this through I call his 20k all in bet cold, he turns over [}} ££££££££££ OOPS....this time I have got my read wrong fair play to him. Nevertheless it is only about 1/6 of my stack and I could still outdraw him I suppose. Turn : $$$&$$ :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin River : ]]]]]]]]]] :drums He goes out to my outdraw. Cue a chat box explosion on how bad I am and how terrible a call it was :lol . I tell him to stop whining and 20k is nothing to me anyway.....cue more frenzied explosive typing from mr mouth. I considering typing in the old rhyming classic "ace deuce.....no use" into the chat box but decide for the sake of any pets he might have to refrain. Jez

  12. Re: Freeroll Saturday The hands I got lucky in.... With blinds at 300/600 I raised my stack of 4990 all in with A6s at the cut off. I was called by the button with QQ and I flushed him on the river :lol A guy raised UTG in another hand and I reraised him all in with AK.....he called with KK and I hit a straight (AKQJ10).... Jez

  13. Re: Freeroll Saturday Ended up 17/2500....60 dollars for my efforts Party poker seems to go hand for hand in MTTs far more than it needs to, not only that the tournament clock is not stopped during the time tables are stalled. This means the blinds get to a ridiculous stage compared to the average stack. I lost most hands I played after the bubble broke, and then very quickly the average stack was 90k with the big blind 15k. Technically this means most people are short stacks and the action is very forced. I still had 100k however when I got JJ on the big blind, reraised a mid pos raiser all in and he called with AA That was me gone Jez

  14. Re: Freeroll Saturday Yeah the Q8 hand which basically started off my mountain of chips.. I was doing pretty well, up to 40k in chips when it was my big blind. Someone in quite early pos raised it from 2k to 5.5k to go. He had about 38k behind him and the two of us were the biggest stacks at the table. It got folded around and I decided to defend my BB with the.>>>>>>&>>>> Now this is not a hand sklansky would tell you to consider playing nor is it ever a hand I would call a raise with on a cash table but I decided to play it for a few reasons. Firstly the guy has a lot of chips as do I - I play MTTs to win and possibly this is a chance to win a huge pot and propel me to the chip lead. Secondly although many good players make tiny raises with AA and KK trying to entice people into pots this guy has been not that good, I think he probably has two high cards at best (AQ is of course the hand I am most worried about) and if I do catch a flop I fancy my chances of winning a monster off him. So I call and the flop comes....

  15. Re: Bet365 $20K Freerolls In July GotAFancy, Thanks an awful lot for your work on this, its superb and much appreciated :clap If you start your thread up I will sticky it for you and no doubt join some nights ;) Jez
