1. Re: Challenge Keep thinking long term danny, variance is a bi*ch but over many many games it should all even out more. Think of it as a journey North on A-roads or B-roads. The road often bends & deviates East, West, sometimes even heads South, but if you know which way you want to go (game selection) and have maintained your car ok (study and fine-tune your game minimalising leaks) you will get to the North in good shape (profit). Wow that was the worse association I think I've ever posted, but you get the idea :lol :\

3. Re: Winamax information Useful reminder, thanks for posting, hate it when these things happen. I used to have a hefty fee levied by Barclays (£1.50+small % i think) whenever I deposited or withdrew $ from Stars, until I realised you could tick "deposit in £" etc. Think it's pretty standard for banks to charge an exchange fee these days especially on the so called free banking accounts. Should appear as such on your statement if it is your bank charging. Had no dealings with Winamax except for donking around with the freeroll Euros, but aware that most companies add a small margin on current spot prices to cover themselves against the volatility of daily exchanges.

4. Re: Betfred Super Leagues incl Silver Fox League Thursdays Yep hugely discriminating, as a lot of the industry is now becoming, I'll take no part whatsoever on principle and I've already stated as much to Betfred but didn't get the courtesy of a reply. I personally don't have a problem with independent stand alone "ladies only" promos (for example). More ladies playing our beloved sport has to be beneficial to all, and the key is that everyone able to enter such events start from a level playing field. To have multiple restricted and uneven routes to a single final however is just wrong on so many levels. Used to be 5k added, now 2.5k Used to be top 40 to qualify over 30 ish tournaments, now top 20 or top 25 can't remember which from just 8 tournaments. Huge increase in variance, huge advantages given to a select few, I'm sorry but such promos and discrimination deserve to fail miserably in my opinion. Added is added however and not much of it around these days so good luck to any PL'ers taking a shot.

5. Re: Boyle Poker - IPO Killarney - Last Men Standing Promo - Starts 6th May [100pts/da Not a problem mate. If Newcastle is anything like London was (i.e. £230 buyin rather than €230), you might need to get Boyle support to manually reg/adjust your tokens. Don't know for certain, but assume they would be happy to transfer and sort any slight residue balance, they did say tokens could be used for any 2014 leg.

6. Re: WPT freerolls on DTD - 17th to 19th June. lol was storming through (online) day one of the £125, simple abc, value betting the cr.. out of everyone, play was so uber poor. Could easily have taken 60bb through with me to day 2 but decided to take a major gamble with 5's against the player who was calling and shoving everything. Normally this is a crazy poor move, a kin to voluntarily shutting yourself away in an empty room with Phil Neville and Adrian Chiles, but I actually LOVE this play, on this occasion only, and here's why:

• I freerolled in
• 400 mile/many hours round trip to make live day 2
• My health being what it is, still strong possibility I wouldn't make it anyway
• Options are...

a] to whimp through with 60bb, shell out effectively another buyin on expenses to make the trip and having to grind away hard against variance with no guarantee of return. b] I shove and bust, lost nothing, every possibility of gain. c] I shove and take through a huge 130bb stack with every chance of a big score. Most of all I love the play because I'm back thinking ev once more and not just the cards. Totally happy he hit the 6, good luck to him. Never underestimate what can be achieved from a freeoll, remember ;) and if you get a free shot at a big score... take it! Anyone have any thoughts on such situations?

7. Re: WPT freerolls on DTD - 17th to 19th June. lol. That's ipoker for you :\ Think the problems were surrounding logging in Ian, they've re-jigged the start screen and it seemingly is best to log in with your user name now, thats the GQR number, rather than table/nickname. Support should be able to help if you can't remember it.

8. I made a promise to never ever promote or help Partypoker ever again and I wholeheartedly stand by that. For members benefit however, there is a freeroll appearing most days this week on DTD as compensation for ipoker software issues. Freeroll is giving away £125 DTD-WPT125 seats which can be played either live at the club or online. Day 2 is this Sunday 22nd June in Nottingham with £30k guaranteed. I think the prize pool is being paid out in £500 WPT National seats but I'm finding DTD's website confusing.

9. Re: WSOP Event #60: $1500 NLHE (1-3 July 2014) Let's keep it civilised guys. It's perfectly valid to ask for additional details or to question past performance and similarly perfectly valid to defend your position and past results but lets do it in a constructive and polite manner on both sides. Staking is a very subjective topic, different people will have different views on what represents value or opportunity and varying reasons for backing or being backed. It is always up to the individuals involved on both sides to agree and be happy with all aspects of the arrangement prior to agreeing to any deal. This is a generic request to keep discussions friendly and purposely isn't stating any view either for or against this particular staking or anyone involved in the deal or thread and shouldn't be taken as such.

10. Re: Grosvenor 25/25 Series - Muttley Champion at New Brighton! Unstuck thread in an effort to keep the top of live poker forum tidy, most people now aware of series but mainly the following:

There are just far too many dates and changes to keep on top of.
It is however a great series of tournaments with superb structure and at least one fantastic champion :ok Good one to satellite into and to build up live tourney experience, highly recommend it. As I'm sure muttley :notworthy does too.

12. Re: Boyle Poker - IPO Killarney - Last Men Standing Promo - Starts 6th May [100pts/da Been at the Regency hotel, Swords Road, just north of the city, south of the airport the last couple of years. Haven't seen any confirmation this year yet but assume the same. Think the Regency itself tends to get booked up a year in advance and/or is quite expensive (relative to the tourney buyin). Lots of other good options around though. Will have a look. Do you guys want to catch up on skype or facebook sometime next week? Perhaps book into the same hotel for a few beers in the evenings, maybe swap a small % and/or draw up a plan for the side events? Ideally I'm still going to try to pick up a cheap 2nd seat in the sats as think it's re-entry (different start day) and to help justify the flight/hotel cost.
