  2. Re: Ayr 19/4/08 just got back from a local bookie but there SIS system was down but i wanted the price for Noir Et Vert so he said what does the coral advert say in the Racing Post. 11/1 :eek :nana that'll do for me!!!!!!!!!!! Wife went to my shop where its 13/2 . :hope:hope

  3. Re: Ayr 19/4/08

The ground is currently soft' date= good-soft in places, and that could count against Noir et Vert who has done all of his winning on good or firm ground. That leaves us with a final shortlist of three: Old Benny, Flintoffand Leading Man.
It might be worth a saver on Noir as the ground might just dry out a little judging by the pitures on Ch4 its now GOOD. but great write up mate:ok
  4. Re: Ayr 19/4/08 NOIR ET VERT 3.40 Ayr SCOTTISH GRAND NATIONAL HANDICAP CHASE I had word last year for Hot Weld trained by Ferdy Murphy dispite having 2 in the race and the other runner going off 'favourite'. He has a great record in this and is three from eight in the past eight years. He's got 2 in this again and what makes most appeal is the jockey booking of young Gillies who takes off a very handy 7lbs. Noir Et Vert has form over 3m3f on good and good-firm ground, he had not been seen since last April when getting 4th at Cheltenham LTO. Having done all his winning on decent ground, conditions were probably far from ideal, but he ran really well, is only a seven-year-old, surely has further improvement in him, and there is every reason to believe that he could prove well suited by the demands set by the Scottish National today. 8/1 One of mine to follow last season was Leading Man , Ferdy Murphy's second srting so It might pay to have a nibble e/w on him also @ 16/1

  5. Re: Newbury 18/04/08 Its FRANKIE FRIDAY :nana:nana Klynch 1.10 Newbury Could be a bit a value as Frankie has a good record with Meehans youngsters and who is bred to have a bit of speed in him. Early Price: 10/1 Mountain Pride 3.15 Newbury Should appreciate the step up in trip and can take this at the expense of Bouguereau who Ive heard won't like the forecasted weather (Cloudy with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle for much of the day; strong north-easterly winds) and faces a bigger task than when winning a class 4 LTO. Early Price: 7/2 Changing Skies 3.50 Newbury Looks like Frankie could have a good day today (only booked for 3 rides) and who am I to back against him, Changing Skies ran well over Course on its debut, shaped as if the step up will suit and Meehans got the services of Frankie over Jimmy Fortune.

  6. Re: Scottish National I had word last year about Hot Weld so the Ferdy Murphy 2 runners have to be respected as he knows how to win this, also any that didnt make the line up for the G.N has to be looked at. I'll have a good look tomoz but these jump out at me for now: Leading Man Noir Et Vort Ossmoses Im surprised Philson Run lines up....mmmmmm

  7. Re: Newmarket - 17/04/08 nearly forgot : Phoneix Tower 4.20 Newmarket Unbeaten in 3 starts and stable mate to Multidimensional but the vote goes to Phoneix Tower as 4 year olds have a good record inthe race with just 2 favs winning in the last 10 years. Ran green for much of last season despite winning. I like the write up from the racing post after his win at Newbury in April last year "PHOENIX TOWER totally dominated the contest once asked to quicken-up and turned it into a procession. Henry Cecil described the son of Chester House as green and babyish and open to further improvement andfaces a dilemma of sorts in whether to run him over this distance of seven furlongs in the Jersey Stakes or take on the chin a hike in the ratings and move up to a mile for the Britannia. The colt's jockey Richard Hughes said he had to push his mount along to hold his position but then found the others coming back to him so that he was in front too soon. None of this made any difference and few three-year-old handicap have been put to bed with such glaring authority." Early Price: 8/1

  8. Re: Newmarket - 17/04/08

The trainer is not keen on Ravens Pass today... I'm sure he has an excellent chance - but he makes it clear he is being trained for the Guineas, not this...
I read that also Alex but I just think theres not much in the race to turn it over excuses can be made for at least 4 of its nearest rivals. Im not going to put a lot on it but Im not leaving
  9. Re: Newmarket - 17/04/08 Dark Missile 3.10 Newmarket 4 year olds are on a 5 timer since 2001 with 2 5years also winning since 2001, 2 favourites have won since 1998. Weight wise you can also knock the top 2 off ( War Artist and Balthazaars gift). The vote goes to Dark Misslie who gets a weight allownance due to the fact that its a filly. Beat some decnt types back in 2006 on the July Course and has run well over this course before. Willaim Buik gets on well with her ("William Buick was very cool and has given her a great ride. We told him to hold on to her as long as he could but he was going so well he had to go on. He has a wise head for such a young person and, most importantly of all, horses run for him. William's claim on her had made all the difference - I was very happy to seethe rain and she was already a course and distance winner which was a big plus. She is ultra reliable and has done us proud. She is a pretty good filly when I run her in the right races. ")Ascot 2007. He's not got the claimer now but I think the weight allowance will help a lot. 7/1

  10. Re: Newmarket - 17/04/08 Stone Of Scone (e/w) 2.00 Newmarket Aidan O'Brien nominated Zulu Chief as his unraced three-year-old to follow but first time out he's a short price so Im looking else where for a bit of value. Fanjura looks a decent horse but he will probably want a mile and a quarter so the tentative vote goes to the Dunlop horse, connections won this last year with Chantilly Tiffany, the pedigree suggests that S.O.S should be suited by this 1mile (Pivotal (7.6f) - Independence (Selkirk (USA)(8.7f)) 3rd foal, half-brother to Mount Nelson, top-class 7f-1m winner at 2, and Off Message, a 9f winner at 3; dam a high-class multiple 7f-1m winner at 3, including the Group 2 Sun Chariot Stakes, from further family of Reference Point) and the booking of Ryan Moore also puts another tick in his box. 7/1 Ravens Pass 3.45 Newmarket This is all about Ravens Pass and the ability to take this before the Guineas, however I think he will take all the beating today but I have my own idea for the Guineas winner. Ravens Pass had turned over City Leader (7L's) at levels as 2yr olds and nothing I can see will reverse that today with City Leader giving 2lb to Ravens. Twice Over could be a danger, unbeaten over 8f and 10f's and if they go a fair clip then this sharp mile might suit but ratings wise he's a bit to find with Ravens Pass. 6/4 Im gonna have a cheeky nibble on both OBriens runners @ big prices, Great Rumpuscat ( anything related from Storm Cat is worth a nibble )66/1 and The Bog Berry -has some big GP1 entries so Aidan must think something of him.33/1

  11. Re: Newmarket Weds 16/04 Redolent 4.20 Newmarket A recent spin on the AW at Lingfield 11 days ago would blown away any cobwebs that had collected over Christmas. Found the 7f at the Curragh too sharp and ran better next time out behind IBN KHALDUN. Im overlooking the French race which brings me to the Lingfield run LTO. Should come on for that run and could turn over the hot fav in a race where fav's dont have a good record. 6/1

  12. Re: Newmarket Weds 16/04 20080416nmk151002.pngFat Boy 3.10 Newmarket P Chapple Hyam has 3 enterd in this and his pick could well be FatBoy who hacked up at Ripon as a 2yo over 6f's. "he scored with authority, soon in front and switched to the stands' rail and making all for a comfortable success." This extra furlong should suit with underfoot conditions spot on, also gets the assistance of L.Dettori who Ive heard is quite good. 5/1 20080416nmk154502.pngAnosti 3.45 Newmarket If Fat Boy goes wins the previous race it might pay to have a nibble on Anosti e/w at decent odds. 2nd to FatBoy at Ripon. Has a tendancy to hang right when getting her nose in front and 'gave up' when battling at Ascot 2 runs ago. LTO at Newmarket she was just pipped into 2nd by a nk the strapping filly deserves plenty of credit for nearly making all. She is already Listed-placed, and looks a candidate to win a race restricted to her sex. Eye catching booking of Spencer and at 33/1 it must be worth a nibble. 33/1

  13. Re: Fun Forecasts

Nothing returned :( Bets: 4 Wins: 0 Staked: 6pts Returns: nil And all that fancy stuff (yield etc.) some other smart a55 can explain to me!
its total profit divided by total stakes eg, Total Stakes 449.09pts Total Profit 80.70pts Strike Rate 47.69% Yield 17.97% 80.70 divided by 449.09 = 17.97
  14. Re: Warwick Tues 15th 20080415War143001.png Heaven and Hell 2.30 Warwick Won LTO and the booking of Richard Evans with his claimer should compensate for the penalty he's burden with. Would be no surprise if it won again. Early Price: 5/2 20080415War150004.png Kyllorien 3.00 Warwick B.Hills has a decent record around here (16%sr) and 3 of his last 10 starters have finished first. He's only bringing 2 to the track and it could pay to side with this one. Early Price: 11/4 20080415War153004.png Namir 3.30 Warwick Although we tipped up Digital LTO I dont think he will make this a double carring nearly an extra stone in weight. 2nd that day was Namir who was 2 3/4 L's behind and could reverse the placings off the same mark carring 2lb less. Early Price: 13/2 20080415War163004.png Cheshire Prince 4.30 Warwick Brisbourne is the leading trainer here and brings just 2 to the track, his first runner in the 2.30 will have a job to over turn the favourite but I think Cheshire Prince could run well at a price having finished off last season in great style winning beating Cat De Mille by 5L's. If he's fully wound up and race ready I think he could run well at a nice price. Early Price: 9/1

  15. Re: Fun Forecasts I did one the other day well in fact I did a ctc 60 bets @ 10p for 5 selections I got 2 out of 3 but the tri-cast paid £705 and would have been about the same if my selections had come in. A bloke in our shop only does cfc and ctc bets on dogs and horses and does alright off them.

  16. Re: Doncaster Sat 12/04 Blythe Knight 3.35 Doncaster Ran a cracker of a race in the Lincoln this year despite being top weight, he won his split of the group but just found Smokey Oakey (in the other split) too quick in the final furlong. He's only up 2lb from that and this GS ground should be spot on for him. Its a step up to Class 1 but he's beat some good runners last year in this sphere and should run well at a decent price. 3 of the last 4 wnners have carried 9-0 or more. 7/1

  17. Re: Kempton Saturday 12/04/08 Great write as usual Billy :clap Im quite sweet on GASPAR VAN WITTEL also, I followed it a bit last season (just search his name on here using the search facility). I was hoping for better things of him last season but I was a bit disapointted connections put him out over 6F. He needs 7F at least but I think this mile should suit to a tea. 7L's off Ravens Pass in the Solario but that was on GF, he needs a little give and the AW should also suit. City Leader (2nd in the Solario) won next time out over a mile at Ascot
