  1. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January the main draws are out so have been spending all evening trying to do analysis. for now, i will give some tips for the qualifyiers this evening.I don't really have time to explain because it will take ages. 1. lisicki-chan double with paddypower at 4-6 3 points 2.dubois-rus double at 8-11 with skybet 2 points 3.danillidou-keothavong at evens skybet 1 point 4. pivovarova and llagosteres vives double at 11-10 1 point 5. peter polansky to beat millot at 10-11 skybet 1 point 6.falconi to win at 8-13 william hill 2 points 7. zuzana kucova at 8-15 .....bit short but think she will do it. obviously i understand that because i haven't given reasons these tips might seem unattractive but i have worked hard at them so each to their own. there aren't as many single bet opportunities as yesterday so we will see what happens. from what i have seen of the main draw i really like zakapalova at 4-5 and benesova at 4-5 but we will go into more detail about that tomorro. good luck all

  2. Re: Tennis - The Australian Open (17-30 January) yeah, that match looks like a cracker11 hopefully they will roll back the years...i actually think hewitt looks like value at 11-8....but nalby in full flow plays more beautiful tennis than federer i reckon ...so will probably stay away from it. yeah, i reckon it will either be kim or justine. i have a wee bet on kvitova at 350-1....so you never know. so why you happy that murray has a tough draw

  3. Re: Tennis - The Australian Open (17-30 January)

Couple of early ones for me for the Oz Open. Karlovic vs Dodig OVER 38.5 games @ 1.80 (Bet365:4pts). Karlovic returned to action after injury in Doha, won 2 matches vs Rosol and Kohli and every set was a tie-break before Davydenko schooled him. Dont think the 5 set format suits Karlovic at all and alot of his matches tend to be drawn out. Dodig did OK last year reaching round 2 in 3 of the slams and ended the year in decent form reaching 1/4's at Stockholm and winning a challenger event(both indoor hard). He doesnt have the best of results on outdoor hard, he's a pretty average player overall but I think he can hang with Karlovic here on serve and even win a set, hopefully take it over the line. Vinci (to bt Molik) x Stakhovsky (to bt Brands) @ 1.773 (Bet365:3pts) Molik playing like she's semi-retired these days. Her end of year form was very poor and no signs of that improving now. She was schooled 6-1 6-0 by Errani last week and thats not a good result against someone who is not great on hard surface....but Errani is consistent on the ground and that was enough to draw errors from Molik.Vinci is a capable player, had a good second half to the season and reached 1/4's in Hobart this week before running into in-form Groth....think she can move Molik around, change the pace up with her slices and draw enough errors from her. One winner here for me. Also fancy Stakhovsky to beat Brands. Neither has done well here in the past but I think Stakhovsky is getting better all the time.....won a few titles last year and although he switched off after the US Open he started this year with a 1/4 in Sydney losing to Gulbis but got good wins over GGL and Becker. Brands IMO is a mug, has done little on hard surface....basically all serve and no brain. 2 matches so far this year he lost to Kubot in Brisbane and Greul in Sydney, both in 2 sets....poor poor results. Hopefully Stakh is up for this, great chance to progress for him. Also has a 2-0 h2h lead over Brands. GL!
Totally agree with you on these bets...make a lot of sense1 cheers for the comment about chan btw. what do you think of the draws in general
  4. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January WATSON-MIRZA DOUBLE AT 8-11 WITH SKYBET 2 POINTS! I expect the price on watson to shorten as there will be plenty of brits piling on the money for her but i still fancy her to win! She is actually playing a pretty dangerous player in the form of tsurenko! Tsurenko, like watson, has a bright future ahead of her and she had a very good win against the talented stephanie voegele in the first round! she basically played the big points better than voegele who gets notoriously nervous during tight moments! however, voegele isn't in great form right now and I still feel there is not much evidence that tsurenko is playing at watson's level at the moment.... two weeks ago watson raced through qualification in auckland hammering the talented thai youngster lertcheewakarn on the way and then she beat the classy carla suarez navarro before matching the in-form shaui peng stroke for stroke for most of the match though peng proved too classy in the end for her! she is a natural player, an excellent mover, lovely classic forehand which she likes to flatten out and a solid backhand....she still has concentration issues but she doesn't seem to have any fear of the big points which is the first trait i look for in a tennis player and sportsperson for that matter! she won her match easily today proving that she has maintained her form and she is so enthusiastic! She tweets regularly and one of her tweets from yesterday was 'rain rain go away, i want to get out there and compete'! tsurenko is not to be under estimated but watson is brimming with confidence and just seems the more likely winner! As for mirza against diatchenko, i feel this is a dead cert! she flew through her first round today and a s i have said before she is motivated and claims to be in the shape of her life! She's has monster groundstrokes and should be able to blow diatchenko off the court!Diatchenko is a fantastic battler (she's also hot) and she's very good at scraping through tight matches! But she is still an ordinary enough player...especially off her favourite surface clay where she can plug all day long! She has a powder puff serve which mirza will gobble up amd the fact that she needed three sets to get past local girl rajicic today doesn't bode well for her!good luck all!

  5. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January young, sweeting and manasieva treble at 4-6 williamhill 3 points this seems like a fairly safe bet. i'm not a fan of young in general but he seems to like austalia ...he got through qualifying here last year and made the second round. he walses through his first round match and he plays veteran italian clay courter brizzi in the second round who has never done anything on a hard court and was just lucky to face a poor opponent in lobkov in the first round of qualifying. Sweeting is surely one of the more talented players in the qualifiers...he's a fine ball striker..and though he has concentration difficulties and doesn't seem to have much of a plan b or court savy he still should be way too classy for french man reynet who beat the young australian in the first round but my friend saw that match and said it was a very poor standard. finally manasieva plays yet another one of the asian players in the draw that you probably wouldnt see in any othe other slams.... a lot of the european players haven't made the trip. manasieva is just a solid competitor with no real weapons but she plays tough on every point....she's kinda like a poor man's zahlavova-strycova. she's usually very reliable in the qualies untill she plays someone thats simply just better than her and judging by lungham's results that's certainly not the case.11 worth a few quid this accumulator..i reckon jaroslav pospisil to beat brezac at 8-13 the price is a bit short i know... but i really fancy him to win this. brezac is no great shakes and jaroslav pospisil, who is not to be confused with vasek pospisil who is useless, has shown some good form over the past few months. he also had a very good win against the promising jurgen zopp in the first round and i expect him to be good enough to take brezac out. I LIKE FISHY26'S TIPS ON POLANSKY AND HAMPTON THOUGH HAMPTON'S PRICES SEEMS A LITTLE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...LET'S HOPE NOT AS COHEN ALORO IS WELL AND TRULLY A SPENT FORCE....CAN'T EVEN WIN ON HER FAVOURITE CLAY. ANYWAY THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OUTSIDER TIPS. 1. RIK de voest to beat blaz kavcic at 11-10 paddypowers 2.Nicolas massu to beat kravchuk at 5-4 powers 3.yevgeny korolev to beat dancevic at 6-5 powers And finally, sloane stephens will beat ungar at 4-7 with william hills and a kucova-llagosteres vives double should come in at 10-11 with powers also. good luck all.

  6. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January krystina pliskova to beat erika sema at 5-6 paddypower 1 point. krystina is the better of the two pliskova sisters it seems. she is still young but showing some improvement..she had a good run to the third round of the australian open qualifiers a few months ago beating albanese and fellow youngster Rus before finding wily veteran dominguez lino too good in 3 sets...but that's no disgrace. obviously she is no worldbeater yet.... but i've been looking at erika semas results for the past year and they have been very poor even at challenger level...she's not to be confused with yurika sema who knocked krumm out of the Us open qualies two years ago....she seems to be operating at a much lower level.... for this bet my analysis is purely based on results on paper and therefore i wouldn't advise a big bet but it seems to make sense to back pliskova in what powers claim to be a 50-50 match up.

  7. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January keothavong, mirza and rus treble at 10-11 paddypower 3 points this will be a big bet i think. keothavong plays kustova and there is a class difference here i think....kustova is very average and doesn't know how to win tight matches...anne is back fit and motivated and will be aiming to qualify for the main draw...can't see her slipping up here. mirza plays kuryanovich who is a fairly poor itf circuit player. Mirza twittered two weeks ago that hse is in the physical shape of her life and she should win this one easily...she'll be really motivated to get to the main draw of a slam where she belongs...especially in australia where she recieves huge support. rus is a player that i regularly bet against last year...as she struggled for most of the year...but she has posted some more impressive efforts already in 2011 and she is still so young so has plenty of room for improvement. she beat lucic in sydney qualifiers and lost a tight 3 set to jovanovski in the next round 7-5 in the third set and jovanovski went on to have a fantasic week. So that bodes well...although I'm still not totally convinced but I expect her to have too much for julia cohen who is a pretty poor itf challenger level player ...not really up to this standard.

  8. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January tips for australia. 1.lisicki-martic double 3 points skybet at 3-4 lisicki is back in form as she showed in aukland pushing wickmayer close...she has a very big game and is very much a confidence player and seems really motivated. she plays michaela krajicek who i have always had a soft spot for.... i like the girl...but she has really lost her way in recent years and is a little bit slow. even if she plays near her potential i still expect lisicki to have too much power for her. martic plays chronic under-achiever madison brengle...who just hasn't stepped up to the plate since juniors....martic had a mixed season last year but she still has plenty of ability is a good mover and should have too much class for the slow brengle who tends to break down in long ralleys.

  9. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January yung-jan chan to beat stefanie foretz at 5-6 williamhills there are a lot of bets to have on the australian open qualifiers i reckon tonight and particularly the womens draw looks quite tasty. this is my first tip. i basically cannot believe the prices available here as there is a huge class difference.yung-jan chan has had her injury problems over her short career but she is a young player with a lot of talent and a fine ballstriker although perhaps a tad one-dimensional. she comes into this grand slam on the back of a good grand-slam showing in flushing meadows where she beat keothavong and paszek before wozniacki thought her a lesson. she is mentally pretty strong and knows how to win tight matches and if you look over the past few years in the grandslams it's usually been a quality player thats had to beat her as she doesn't seem to have a plan b to her game. this year kanepi beat her in australia, an in form groth at the french, petrova at wimbledon and wozniacki at the US. Make no mistake she is no world beater but a solid main draw grand slam performer and the simple fact of the matter is her veteran opponent is a very very poor opponant indeed. foretz hasn't been able to qualify for the australian open in 3 years and hasn't won a main draw match since 2005. She had a very poor year last year and despite doing well at an itf event in quanzhou last week by reaching the final, she didn't play any player of consequence and lost to ling-ji in the final. I feel the bookies seeing as they had all the foretz matches in-running last week and witnessed her winning streak might be over-rating her here.chan is a class ahead and my only worry is that i couldn't find any recorded matches that she played since october so there is no guaranteed proof of form to go by and she might even be carrying an injury but one would have to expect that if a player is going to make the effort to come to australia just for the qualifiers, she must be in some way fit and motivated. I just feel the price is just so wrong that I can't resist it. if she is fit , she will win.

  10. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January hradecka-andreev double at 10-11 1 point hradecka in good form of late! she's beaten dulko, cirstea and vania king of late and she should have too much firepower for yakimova....while andreev is not a man to trust on short odds either but here he really should get the job done! he beat becka dn berankis in qualifying which is solid and he's just playing a very average opponent in andrej martin who really has no weapons and got a cushy draw in beating headcase korolev and aussie boy millman! its a good value bet but i wouldnt put huge money on it! the bigger bets are to come!

  11. Re: Tennis - 9-16 January bammer-kohlschreiber double at 5-6 with paddypowers! 2 points bammer is playing zahlavova! bammer is a wily old veteran, with no huge weapons but she's consistent off both wings, solid on serve and mentally very strong! just the type of player that could grind down zahlavova! zahlavova is talented and in good form at the moment having turned over camerin and rebecca marino in qualifying! however, i don't feel that she has any real weapons to hurt bammer,in fact they both have similar styles of play so i would be inclined to think that the experienced bammer will be more mentally strong as i have seen zahlavova collapse mentally on numerous occasions....she only did it last week in qualifying as she blew a set and 5-2 lead to alice cornet who herself is struggling for form! bammer beat kulikova in qualifying also and looks in good nick to take this one! kohlschreiber is never one to trust on short odds but i can't see him lose against carlos berlocq! i read that kohlschreiber has been training really hard and is really motivated for the new season! he has also been quoted to saying that he loves playing in aukland and is the former champ here and a semi finalist from last year! he beat seppi last week and fell in 3 tight sets to the huge server karlovic which i dont see is any disgrace! berlocq himself is no slouch and has been in good form on the clay on the challenger circuit but he rarely ventures away from the clay and isn't really in kohlschreibers league if truth be told! so 5-6 feels like a good price!

  12. Re: Tennis - 1-9 January

A new event starts today, I like two in the WTA. 10pts (7/10) LAY A.Morita to bt. A.Amanmuradova @ 2.42 at StanJames - (or back at 1.66, whatever you like) I do not like the prices here too much. Amanmuradova beat Morita twice last year and I think this will continue here. I think she will just blow her off the court, since she is much better than Morita on hard courts. She has also shown more form in her first match, fighting a tough match with Safarova, while Morita lost 2-0 pretty easily. 10pts (7/10) A. Chakvetadze to bt. S.Errani @ 1.90 at Skybet Cannot have Errani as equal to Chakvetadze here, despite the fact Anna lost her first match pretty easily. Errani did too. In fact, they met once and Anna won 6-1 6-2 and I can see a similar scoreline here. Chakvetadze likes hard courts, while Errani is not great on them. Besides, I rate Chakvetadze as the better player on talent. 1.90 are solid odds.
really like your thinking on the morita -amanmuradova match! i was tempted by amanmuradova myself and you have convinced me! let's hope she does the job!
  13. Re: Tennis - 1-9 January petra kvitova to win the australian open at a massive price of 350-1 with uni-bet!! ok, in fairness, i don't really expect her to win it but this is an incredible price and certainly worth a punt as i actually consider petra to be one of a very few underdogs that has a chance! women's tennis doesn't really have a stand-out player at the moment....and although i consider clijsters the best player in the world right now and rightful favourite i don't really think there are any other players that kvitova should have any fear of! henin of course is a class act and might find some form, zvonareva too is a threat and wozniacki has made great improvements and should be there or thereabouts ( though it is worth stating that kvitova hockeyed wozniacki at wimbledon just last year), but apart from that there really isn't that much depth in the draw! sharapova is clearly struggling to rediscover past glories, venus never really does that well in australia and is the wrong side of 30 anyway, though of course should never be written off... azarenka has loads of talent but mentally is fragile still, safina and kuznetsova are shadows of what they were, as are ivanovic and jankovic and it just seems to me that the womens game is crying out for a young underdog to come out of leftfield and make a really deep run! and why not kvitova...the likes of radwanska, kirilenko, pavlychenkova, kleybanova. georges, peer are just pretenders for me... petkovic has got a big game and could be a dark horse but kvitova at 350-1 is genuinely great value! after all, she reached the semi-finals of wimbledon last year and gave serena her toughest test!! when she is bad she trully is awful and she's more than capable of losing the first round to the likes of a vania king, yet when her game clicks it really is massive!! she's got a big lefty serve (easily in the top 5 serves in the womens game when its working), her outswinger is particularly effective, she's got massive groundstrokes off both wings which can be very wild but when they work she takes the ball on very early, always looking to play points on her terms and she can play with power and depth consistently which most players would find too hot to handle!! i also believe she has a good temperment and if she found herself in tight situations in a quarterfinals or semi-final she won't be found wanting.....she has no fear!! it's all a big 'if' that her game will come together but she has shown some good form this week in brisbane beating the likes of cibulkova, petrova and pavlyuchenkova and she plays petkovic in the final tomorro which should be an interesting test for petkovic! if she's been to the semis at wimbledon, i believe she can go one step further here in australia....and for 350-1 she could give you a great run for your money!

  14. the following are my tips for season ante-post in tennis with a new firm called unibet!! the lines close at 12 this evening so sorry for posting them up so late! 1) iveta benesova to finish over 51.5 places in the wta rankings at 5-6 3 points 2) maria kirilenko to finish over 16.5 places at 5-6 3 points 3)nadia petrova to finish under 23.5 places at 5-6 1 point 4)thiemo de bakker over 35.5 places at 5-4 with skybet 2 points 5)alexandra dulgheru under 36.5 places at 5-6 2 points 6)yaroslava shvedova under 37.5 places at 5-6 1 point 7)janko tipseravic over 36.5 places at 5-6 3 points 8)carla suarez navarro under 35.5 places at 5-6 1 poiny 9)francesca schiavone over 10.5 places at 5-6 2 points 10)svetlana kuznetsova under 16.5 places in the rankings 5-6 2 points 11) richard berankis to beat grigor dimitrov in the rankings race at 4-5 skybet! if anybody wants reasoning for any one of these bets that may interest you feel free to ask! i just dont have time at the moment!!

  15. Re: Tennis - US Open tomorrow is a big day for betting i reckon! could make or break ya! here are my tips for tomoro...no time for reasoning now but will give some in the morning hopefullly! 1)alexandra dulgheru to beat sofia arvidsson at evens bet365 3 points! 2)tamira paszek to beat yung-jun chan at 4-6 boylesports 3 points! 3)kateryna bondarenko to beat dominika cibulkova at 10-11 boylesports 2 points! 4)soderling,ferrer, verdasco treble 4-6 boyles 2 points! 5)kanepi, a radwanska, kirilenko treble at 5-6 boyles 2 points! 6)dominguez lino to beat U radwanska at 11-10 1 point 7)carsten ball to beat montanes 4-5 skybet 1 point 8)gimeno-traver plus 5.5 games against chardy 10-11 bet365 9)robredo to beat benneteau at 6-5 bet365 1 point! 10)ferrero,mathieu,fishh treble at 4-6 boyles 2 points! 11)beck v federer over 27.5 games 8-11 powers!1 point 12) petkovic to beat mattek at evens 1 point 13) polansky to beat blake at 2-1 2 points!

  16. Re: Tennis - US Open finally anna chakvatadze minus 5.5 games against ursula radwanska 5-6 bet365 2 points! anna is back in form now in a big way! radwanska is an ordinary enough player as it is but she's also in bad form and can be a bit of a head case so once anna finds her game i can see her blowing radwanska away!

  17. Re: Tennis - US Open these are a few of my smaller tips! niemenen versus gimeno-traver over 37.5 games 10-11 bet365 1 point i think gimeno traver is capable of giving niemenen a better match than expected!! he's predominantly a clay court player of course but i still feel that there is no reason why his game can't translate top faster surfaces! for example last year at wimbledon he beat grass lover taylor dent and took troicki to five sets! this year he is a better player and he has also won a challenger event on hard only last week beating us open qualifier mannarino in the final! he has a big serve and booming groundstrokes ...arguably more firepower than niemenen! i think he will be difficul for jaarko to break! he also has a good tie-break record and i feel he is more than capable of nicking a set if it goes to a tie-break! ultimmately he doesnt have the consistancy adn makes too many errors to win in straights and jaarko should be able to grind him down but i expect it to be competitive with at least 4 sets! nalbandian versus de voest over 28.5 games 2 pointsbet365 at 10-11! nalbandian is obviously playing very well at the moment and more than capable of thrashing any opponent on his day but i have rarely seen him make easy work of lesser opponents in the first round of a grand slam and he might come into this one a bit rusty! i also feel his opponent is a little under-rated in this spot....de voest qualified very impressively beating good opponents in the likes of koubek and bozoljac in straights! nalbandian's serve is always attackable and if he has one of his standard concentration lapses, de voest might just nick a set here! either way i don't think de voest will be a pushover and i also recommend de voest plus 9.5 games 8-11. flipkens versus schynder under 21.5 games 8-11 bet365 1 point! another mathematical bet here really! flipkens has been injured for past few months and has hardly had the best preparation for this match! flipkens has a bad record against lefties and its easy to see why when all she can do with her backhand is slice! so patty is a bad match up for her...although in a way flipkens could be a bad match up for patty as she can mix up the pace of the ball and frustrate her opponents! patty has a good record at the us open though and flipkens is reportedly not 100% fit! there's also a possibilty that the off colour patty schynder will turn up...and when patty is bad and unmotivated, anyone can beat her! either way there are plenty of reasons to believe that this match will be less than 21 games and its worth a small wager! kudraytseva plus 5.5 games against wickmayer bet365 4-6 1 point! wickmayer's form is suspect coming into this match and she rarely hammers players unless she is simply on fire! i don't expect her to just come out of the blocks all guns blazing as that form will jsut seem to have come from nowhere! she is a playert that seems to feel her way into tournaments! she's playing a tricky opponent in kudraytseva and normally i don't like to get involved in alla's matches as she is so inconsistent but she has the ability to live with wickmayer! she has fine groundstrokes and will enjoy the pace wickmayerr gives her and can put it up to wicky and 5.5 seems to be a big handicap!! kristof vliegen to beat james blake at 2-1 boylesports! 1 point both are off form basically but blake just doesn't seem to be able to handle the pressure at the moment and judging by the interviews i read from both players at least vliegen seems to be going into the match with a more positive attitude....blake was just saying stuff like i'll try my best but i'm not very confident at the moment! vliegen is a former top 50 player and if he can jsu play solid , blake might just end up beating himself! 2-1 represnts value brands to beat becker at 13-8 skybet! 1 point value! becker isn't in good form at the moment! brands has shown a hunger for the big occasion this year ...almost beating tsonga at the french and beating andreeve and reaching the 3rd round at wimbledon! both have biog serves...should be a close one....i think brands! jamie hampton to beat martinex sanchez 1 point skybet hampton is young up and comer! martinez sanchez has been out of action for a while and there are serious concerns over her fitness! hampton is no world beater but martinez sanchez is unbackable at the moment1 2-1 with skybet represents value!

  18. Re: Tennis - US Open sofia arvidsson to beat sorana cirstea at 11-10 boylesports 2 points! totally agree with psycho on this one! arvidsson got to the final in the bronx last week and only found in-form chakvetadze to be too good! cirstea is in poor form at the moment and unlike a few years back is mentally very fragile right now! for example, in her latest outing she was 6-3 up in the final set breaker against all kudraytseva and lost the next 5 points!! arvidsson looks the safer bet! stephanie voegele versus dominika cibulkova over 20.5 games 10-11!bet365 1 point this should be a competive affair and perhaps taking voegele plus 4.5 games is a better bet so i backed both! voegele is talented, has an excellent two-handed backhand and a big serve when its working! she has plenty of firepower to trouble the more consistent and solid cibulkova who will probably force voegele into unforced errors through her court coverage and her ability to get an extra ball back! however, cibulkova isn't the same player this year she was last year and i certainly don't expect her to shake off voegele easily! indeed, voegele has a good chance of winning though i still have reservations about her forehand , especially in pressure situations! but she can certainly take a set or at least push cibulkova to a breaker in one! k-c chang versus suarez navarro under 22.5 games 1 point! this is more of a mathematical bet really! the simple fact is that suarez navarro under normal circumstances is a completely different class to chang who is ordinary enough, although likes quick conditions! however, i have read quotes from navarros coach and it seems she is just here to collect a probably badly needed cheque and he said she is just making 'tentative steps' back into the game and that she still feels some pain! in that case anyone who wants to back chang should back with the one ball bookies or skybet who pay out after first set, in case she retires! what i took from that quote is that navarro isn't back to herself yet...and from my experience of suarez navarro matches is if she is off colour she can be woeful! there's also the outside chance that maybe she's in better shape than we think and if she's anywhere near the level she's capable of she should destroy chang! either way, most tennis matches last less than 23 games in the women's game!for this to go over that we're talking a three setter! and given the circumstances i think this match is far less likely to be a 2 setter! but just a one-pointer!

  19. Re: Tennis - US Open sharapova versus groth over 18.5 games at 8-11 bet365 2 points! there is no doubt that sharapova is going really well at the moment and looks likely to set up a very real challenger for the championships but there are still some cracks in her game yet as azarenka exposed ruthlessly a few weeks back! she's still having some service issues although her first delivery can be a weapon and if you take the game to her and don't let her dominate she doesn't feel so comfortable! thats exactly what jarmila groth will do...she's a hyper aggressive player and in streaks can be almost unplayable as venus can attest to this year from the wimbledon 4th round! i think groth is being well under-rated here by the bookies and has a genuine chance of winning this match but the overs bet looks the best bet! the reason i think it will be over 18 games is because groth is an excellent server, one of the best in the women's game in fact and she likes to play the game on her terms...she'll either hit a winner or unforced error! she has already reached the 4th round of both the french open and wimbledon this year which is hugely impressive! i really believe she has enough fire power to at least take seven games from the match and maybe make one of the sets close...after all it's just the first round and it's hard to imagine sharapova coming out and playing the best tennis of her life!! sharapova should ultimately be too good and groth is still fairly one-dimensional and makes too many unforced errors but can't see her finishing the job in less than 18 games! (groth also said in an interview that she is really motivated and has nothing to lose) chanelle scheepers plus 3.5 games against akgul amanmuradova bet365 at 4-5 1 point! firstly, i find it hard to understand why scheepers is 6-4 underdog in this one!! these two have played each other 4 times and they have all been very competitive matches and perhaps most tellingly scheepers has won the last two matches including one grand slam 3rd round affair in the french this year where she won 6-3,6-3! In fact she only just beat amanmuradova 3 weeks ago in a competitive 3 setter!! she has raised her level this year and is basically a solid ball striker who doesn't give many free points away as dulko can acknowledge! she also gave radwanska a great game in stanford a few weeks back! amanmuradova is playing well at the moment and qualified comfortably with wins over evitimova, fuda and tetreault but schepepers is a step up in quality to those girls! i also think akguls win over jankovic in cinncinatti may be over-rated by the bookies a little bit especially since she got ahmmered the next day by ivanovic! this looks like it should be a close match...one which i think scheepers can win but certainly cover the 3.5 handicap!

  20. Re: Tennis - US Open nishikori v korolev over 38.5 games at 5-6 bet365! 2 points this match screams overs to me!! nishikori is on an 8 match winning streak and obviously in good form but he's still a player prone to concentration lapses and his serve isn't big so korolev will always have chances to break! in fact, even though i fancy nishikori to win the match, if anyone is more likely to win in straights, i believe that it's korolev!! both players are fairly streaky, particularly korolev who is coming back into a bit of form right now after some wins over berrer and gil last week. he's capable of playing incredible tennis in streaks and go woefully off the boil in other streaks! i can't see him not win at least a set in this match but ultimately i see nishikori being more solid and fighting his way through in a marathon! almagro, isner and bagdatis treble at 5-6 boylesports 3 points! almagro hasn't been in great form for the last few weeks but i expect him to raise his game for the US open! his game is well suited to hard courts as his run to the australian open quarters last year proves and he should have way too much class for starace who rarely wins on a hard court especially against top players! isner surely can't be beaten by gil who is very average on a hard court and in poor form! isner is mentally strong enough and focused not to slip up here! bagdatis is in excellent form at the mopmenty and it would take a big dip in form for him to lose to the out of form veteran clement who admittedly usually raises his game for slams but ultimately bagdatis does everything better than clement and should have too much class! robby kendrick v gael monfils over 36.5 games at 10-11 bet365 one point! i have also backed kendrick plus 5.5 games! kendrick simply loves the big stage!! he has given the likes of djokovic, tsonga, murray and nadal real scares in the past in grand slams and has often been unlucky in getting tough draws! honestly, he has never failed to cover a handicap in which i've backed him....probably because he has a big serve and is difficult to break and he has a lot of heart and doesn't fall apart on the big stage! he's playing monfils who has recently acknowledged his mental difficulties regarding the game and has even admitted to seeing a psychiatrist!! yet, he says he is fit and determined to do well in the last grand slam!! however, kendrick is not a player he will relish playing...he doesn't like playing against the ultra-aggressive net-rushing types who don't allow him to get into a rhythm so i expect this to be a tough match for him! he will still probably end up having too much consistancy for kendrick though i wouldn't put anyone off backing kendrick! overall, i can't see this being an easy straight sets victory for either player and the overs...or kendrick plus 5.5 with bet365 both look like good bets! tamira paszek to beat lucie safarova at 11-4 bet365 2 points! it's just a very good price really! safarova is very inconsistent if truth be told and has performed very poorly in the grand slams over the last few years!! her agressive style will suit paszek who is very much a counter-puncher who feeds off pace!! paszek,(as i've said before) is a very talented match-player but she has had mental and physical issues which have prevented her from reaching her potential over the years! yet she came through qualifying very impressively here and is quoted as saying 'finally i am back playing my tennis, punchy and aggressive'! it wouldn't shock me at all to see her turn over safarova and 11-4 represents a lot of value! other players i like the look of are ball at evens as atko pointed out, bammer at 8-15 though its short, kvitova at 8-13...i hear she's been hitting the ball very well in training and went on a deep run here last year! also an errani, hercog double looks a good bet at 4-6 with powers! and falconi is a promising youngster who can cover the 7.5 game handicap with bet365 against pennatta who usually does hammer inferior players but might be taken by surprise a little bit by falconi who walsed through qualification and beat some decent opposition!
