Re: Copa del Rey Sport Football (Spain) Event Real Madrid - Malaga Selection Over 4.5 goals Strength 7 /10 Date 03/01/2012 Bookmaker/Price Paddy Power @ 2.75 Reasoning Whenever Real Madrid play at home, and the visitors aren't Barcelona we expect a hammering and a high scoring game at the same time, so the bookies made the over line really short. When Real Madrid visited Malaga, earlier this season, it ended 0-4, but it was actually 0-4 by the 38th minute. For this game Real won't be counting on Di Maria, but Callejon showed good finishing skills, at the same time Higuain, Ozil and Ronaldo will be a big threat. Malaga probably already gave up on the Cup this season. Facing Real Madrid here, a team which scored 15 goals in their last 3 games against them surely doesn't give them much reason to hope. I'm backing another hammering, and a high-scoring game.

My logic based on this season performances from Liverpool tells me to go for the under, so I'll take the over 2.5 goals. Newcastle to be put in their own half for most of the game, Liverpool in control. Andy Caroll to put one or 2 past his former team, as this often happens when ex-players face their former employees. I'm not really counting much on Newcastle here, hopefully Liverpool will be able to do the job by themselves. Hopefully Gerrard will be involved from the start, but going against my logic in England Premier League makes this bet rock-solid :) -

Stoke City rested its main players in the game lost 3-0 at Manchester City. Obviously they will treat this game very seriously and anything but a win would be considered a dissapointment. Defender Shawcross returns for Stoke, after being suspended against City. As for Aston Villa, they finally showed some life in their 1-2 loss at home to Arsenal. They looked very dangerous at time up-front, however their defense was a mess every time they had to defend set pieces. And if it's one team who knows how to take advantage of this, that is Stoke City. Stoke can play high scoring games at home, especially lately, 4 goals here isn't impossible.

I suck. Gonna try to pull out a rabbit out of the hat to save the day. Gent is chasing the title this season. Some excellent results against the big teams this season, while being pretty efficient against the smaller ones, makes Gent 3rd in the table, just 3 points from Anderlecht. Westerlo is bottom of the table, lost 3-2 at home with Gent earlier this season. If we put into count that last season this fixture ended with a 4-4 draw, and the fact that Westerlo are coming here with a couple of players out, a heavy win for Gent could be in the cards. So once again, over 4.5 a 3rd time in the row.

Sport Football (England - L1) Event Huddersfield Town - Chesterfield Selection Over 3.5 goals Strength 6/10 Date 26/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 2.80 Reasoning Huddersfield Town are promotion contenders this year. After failing to score in 2 consecutive games with Charlton away and Bournemouth they seem to have refound their scoring form, in last week's 4-4 draw at Sheffield Wednesday. Their young striker Rhodes bagged all 4 goals, and he has truely been in impressive form this season. Defender, and team captain Peter Clarke is suspended for this game. At the same time striker Alan Lee returns from suspension. Chesterfield is bottom of the table and will be looking for some new signings in this winter break. They tend to play attacking football, and have a good percentage of overish games this season. But they also have goals in them, and if Huddersfield open the score quick they won't have anything to lose, so the game should prove interesting. Striker Lester is suspended for Chesterfield. As an interesting fact, Chesterfield has always scored on the road this season except for the 1-0 loss in opening day at Tranmere. Huddersfield needs a win here badly, they are promotion matterial, and with Rhodes in deadly form. Chesterfield has conceded at least 3 goals in 6 away games this season, at the same time scoring at least once in those game. Huddersfield is top of the table material, so they can get those 3 goals in, making odds worthy. -

Sport Football (Minor Leagues) Event Telephonaat Beni Suef - Zamalek Selection Zamalek(0) (Asian-handicap) Strength 7/10 Date 26/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 1.61 Reasoning Zamalek is a top team in Egypt, last season they finished 2nd, just behind Al Ahly, and were beaten just 4 times in 30 games. Here they face Telephonaat Beni Suef, which is a newly promoted team. They managed to get 3 wins at home this season, but they had a good schedule facing El Geish, Smouha and Al Mokawloon at home. All 3 are from the second part of the table, and they won all of those games. Of course Zamalek is favorite here, they do have some well-known players, even for a European like me. Striker Zaki played for Wigan, everyone knows Mido, veteran Ahmed Hassan who despite his old age, 36 years old, has been scoring quite a lot of goals lately, and is the team top goalscorer. And even Omotoyossi, the former Helsingborg striker is in the team. Alongside Al Ahly, Zamalek provides the most players for the Egypt national team. A gap in class, and we still get fair odds for a DNB on them here, as I'm not really willing to risk that much on a league I know so little. -

Sport Football (England - Prem) Event Chelsea - Fulham Selection Chelsea(-1.5)AH (Asian-handicap) Strength 7/10 Date 26/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price [email protected] Reasoning Fulham has one important missing for this game. First choice goalkeeper Schwarzer is out injured. He is the backbone of the Fulham defense, very hard to beat, and he will most definitely be missed here. His replacement, Stockdale, is not so hard to beat. He already conceded 5 goals from Manchester UTD on Wednesday, not to mention he was out on loan with Ipswich Town this Autumn, where he conceded 15 goals in his last 5 games, not to mention some hammerings from Peterborough 1-7 and Southampton 2-5, so it won't be so hard for Chelsea to get things going here. Other missings for Fulham are those of midfielders Simon Davies and Steve Sidwell. Besides them, defender Zdenek Grygera is also out. Stockdale, Baird, Hangeland, Senderos, Riise, Ruiz, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey, Dembele, Johnson One more stat... Fulham is the poorest traveler in the EPL in terms of goals scored, just 4 in 8 games, 2 of them coming in their 2-0 win over Wigan, which was also their only win on the road this season in a game where they also had a lot of luck for an inspired Schwarzer who was also helped by the posts a couple of times. I know... I know, why back a Chelsea team who have dissapointed us many times this season. Reason is simple, in order to be able to get something out of Stamford Bridge u need a good enough attack to get goals, as well as a good enough midfield to keep Chelsea at bay. Chelsea faired well against teams of Fulham's calibre at home this season. I see Swansea and Wolves as teams with a similar style of play as Fulham on the road. Defensive minded teams, which allowed Chelsea to control possesion and create chances, at the same time with a rather poor offensive record on the road. Chelsea had the handicap covered in both cases by half-time. There is also the matter of the League Cup game, earlier this season ended 0-0 at Stamford Bridge between the 2. There were a lot of changes in the Chelsea team for that game, yet they controlled the first half, and Fulham were very happy to go at half-time goalless. In the second half, a rare charge brought a penalty and red card for Alex, Fulham missed it, even 10 vs. 11 the game was balanced and Chelsea had its chances. And in extra-time they did win it. A couple of problems for Chelsea in defense, Bosingwa could partner Terry in the center of defense, but defensive missings don't really mean much for a team in control of possesion, creating scoring chances, and expected to create a handicap gap at some point in this game. Cech, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Terry, Cole, Meireles, Romeu, Lampard, Sturridge, Drogba, Mata Sturridge is in good form, Mata as well. Meireles and Lampard can always score goals, adding the threat of John Terry from set pieces, as well as the top marksmen which is Drogba. Unless Torres starts this game Chelsea should have no problems in getting a couple of goals here, the line-up above is perfect as I don't really like Kalou either. Bosingwa as center defender also adds a plus in terms of technique for the team. Stockdale as goalkeeper for Fulham is a good omen for goals against them, I don't expect anything less than 2 goals for Chelsea here. At the same time the inefficiency of Fulham makes me like the handicap bet here. And the price is a bit more than it should be, mainly because of Chelsea's incosistency in away games this season. But home, excluding the meeting with the big guns, they never dissapointed, and have an excellent record of handicap wins as well, failing only against WBA. -

Sport Football (Scotland) Event Annan Athletic - Berwick Selection Over 3.5 goals Strength 6/10 Date 24/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Betway @ 2.67 Reasoning Scottish 3rd League game. We have 2 promotion contenders playing each other. Annan Athletic started the season really well, but a couple of poor results have made them lose the first spot. The first game played between the 2, earlier this season ended with 1-0 win for Annan Athletic. But the game was far more open than the final score shows. In fact Berwick played an excellent game, had plenty of chances to score, but missed them and in the end they were punished for it. Last season all 4 meetings ended with both teams scoring, and 3 of them were over 3.5 at the very least. Judging by the first game this season, which was also extremelly open, it is much more likely than odds suggest that we could see another 4 goals in this game, and I'll take a shot at it. -

At the same time left-back Clichy is once again available after serving a one match ban. Kolarov remains out. Stoke got 4 wins in a row. For them, defender Shawcross is suspended, while it is expected that midfielder Wilkinson will miss out in this game. At home City have been perfect this season, and even more they won 7 of their 8 games by covering the handicap, facing teams of Stoke's calibre, while in the last round they managed to keep Arsenal goalless and get a 1-0 win. Despite the good form of Stoke, they have been allowing goals especialy on the road this season, and I don't really expect Stoke to keep a clean sheet. At the same time it will be extremelly hard for them to get a goal here, and a handicap win for City looks reasonably well priced. -

Sport Football (Spain) Event Sevilla - San Roque Selection Over 3.5 goals Strength 10/10 Date 20/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 2.39 Reasoning Simple bet really, not much to think about. Sevilla won the first leg 1-0, I watched the highlights of that game. San Roque defended in numbers but Sevilla still found many spaces on the flanks and put in a number of good crosses. Kanoute had no problems winning the aerial balls with the San Roque defenders. Negredo is also another tall and powerfull lad, who will do the same here if the coach will decide to give a rest to Kanoute. As for the squad, a good squad for Sevilla. They play at home in front of their own fans, and will be looking for a convincing win to avenge the humiliating revenge from Real. Not really much San Roque can do here, they simply lack quality, they are only 5th in Segunda B, and as their record shows there, they concede few goals at home, but are more vulnerable away. -

He kept his job however, and it's a good thing as the players are fond of him. It wasn't really his fault for the poor results lately. The team played well, but had an incredible amount of missed chances. At the same time it's remarkable how easily they can create chances at home, and how dangerous they are from set pieces. Dacia Mioveni is a mess, club is as good as relegated, and could even go bankrupt in this winter break. The coach has very few options for this game, as the most important players were given a GTFO note after their recent disaster with Sibiu. Disaster often happens when Mioveni plays away... and now under current conditions, it's even more possible, so odds are great. -

They are creating a fair amount of chances every game, and Mandzukic has been in good form this season. Orozco is an excellent set piece taker, while the full-backs are also very offensive minded. However on the road they allow many spaces for their opponents, and are punished for it. However at home they have defended a bit better, not to mention that they are scoring more goals and only Bayern managed to beat them here, with a goal scored in extra-time, just 1-0. Stuttgart has an awfull record in Wolfsburg, lost their last 4 games here. They also come here after losing in Bremen 2-0 and 3-1 in Mainz. Home win. -

They defend heavily on theri goalkeeper Felgueiras to save their asses as their defense is not really that great. They defend in numbers, and that helps them from conceding a lot of goals, along their goalkeeper. Up-front they are non-existing and have 1,2 important missings in midfield for this game. Gaz Metan is a strong team, a bit unlucky at times, but a solid team nevertheless. U need to be a good away team to come here and win games, Brasov isn't that. So DNB on the home team at 1.65 looks very takeable. -

They have been missing key defensive midfielder Petit for the entire season, and their defensive records has gone down the drain. For this game they are also minning Lanig, I think he's a defensive midfielder, and another blow for Koln. Bayern Munchen is rocking this season. Splitting defenses like no other team and scoring goals for fun. Schweinsteiger is missing, that will give Koln a better chance of grabbing a score, as well as make sure tha Luiz Gustavo will be the only defensive midfielder starting tonight. Not much reason to keep babbling around. Bayern will hammer Koln tonight, as there is nothing the visitors can do about it. Also this season, Koln always went attacking when losing games, resulting in high scoring games, what more do u need to take the over. Bookies give shitty odds on over 2.5 and Bayern win nowing this, but 4 goals.... it's more than just possible. -

Defoe, Krancjar, Sandro and Ekotto are all set to take part into this game. Danny Rose will start as the lone striker, most likely with Defoe behind him. There's no reason why this game should be boring, Shamrock aren't able to keep a clean sheet for long. They've conceded in all 5 games played in this group at least 2 goals. But at the same time they score in 4 of those games, which is good news for us. 3-1 losses to Paok and Tottenham. 3-0 and 4-1 defeats by Rubin and 2-1 defeat in Greece at Paok. Truth is they play better on the road than at home. They open up more in front of their own fans, and once they are down a goal they have the instinct to attack,and allow their opponents more spaces. Tottenham already beat Heart earlier this season by 5-0 in an away game. I see no reason why another high scoring game shouldn't be on the cards here, since neither team have anything to defend. -
Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 14th December Lazio - Sporting Lisbon Lazio has to go for the win, at the same time Sporting has nothing to lose here, will rotate most of the team for this game, and their style of play isn't a defensive one. They can score goals even without using their best players, for example Bojinov will start for them in the attack and we all know the Portuguese style of football is very entertaining. I'm not sure if Klose will start this game, but Sculli,Hernanes and Rocchi are enough to guarantee goals in-front. At the same time they are missing their first choie goalkeeper and both full-backs. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 14th December Zurich - Vaslui Making Vaslui favorites here is a bad joke. The Romanians have important missings before this game, both up-front and in defense. As a result they will experiment in both compartments with players of a rather poor level. Zurich remains a strong team, no matter of their problems in the Swiss league. The level of football in their country has risen exponentially in the last couple of seasons, and results are coming. Every year we can see teams from Switzerland playing in both the Europa League group stages, as well as the Champions League, and results are becoming better and better. This is the team which defeated Standard Liege in the Champions League earlier this season, only to be defeated by Bayern by a respectable margin. I see no problems for them to control the game, pressure is off, and the win is very achievable. They won't make any favours for the Romanians. Zurich @3.10 StanJames

Re: Romania Liga 1 2011/12 Pandurii Tg.Jiu - Concordia Chiajna Pandurii is playing very attractive football, very offensive minded especially in their home games. They are pushing for a top place this season, and especially since their cup run ended this midweek after a dissapointing 2-0 loss at Rapid, they will be more than eager to win this game. Chiajna is relegation material, they have managed to keep their away games from getting embarassing by playing a bunker tactic. However Pandurii is really good in playing against such tactics, and once they get the first goal it's game over and humiliation coming. So this bet is mainly about Pandurii scoring 3 goals, and not careing who gets the 4th as long as the bet is won.

Cup clash, first game of the season, and really nothing to defende here. So a 3-4-3 formation will be used by Guardiola with Fontas, Pique and Dani Alves in the defensive line. Busquets will play the defensive midfielder part while Fabregas, Xavi and Thiago Alcantara will be the midfielders. Up-front Cuenca, Pedro and Alexis are enough to guarantee a couple of goals. Worst possible draw for Osasuna, they know before the game is even played that they stand no chance in this game. The coach shouldn't play the standard team here. And with Barcelona likely to go a couple of goals ahead, Osasuna my decide to start playing more offensive and a high scoring game could be on the cards. Over 4.5 goals.
