  1. Re: Where can I watch the races? A high-street bookmaker screens all the races alternatively get a RacingUK subscription or if you really want to watch online I think Bet365 still stream live races from the RacingUK tracks (such as Salisbury and Redcar) as long as you've had a bet on the given race.

  2. Re: Copa Libertadores 28-30/4 Sao Paolo - Universitiario Sao Paolo @ 1.30 @ Bet365 You've heard the phrase never left second gear well Sao Paolo never really left first gear let alone second in the first leg of this game. Universitiario's big chance in this tie was to get a lead from their home leg and try and defend that in Brazil. But in truth Sao Paolo coped with Universitiario very well and if anything Sao Paolo looked more likely to score on the counter-attack. They'd have been happy to take a draw from the away leg and that was obvious with the way they played the game. Back at home you'd fully expect Sao Paolo to take the game to Universitiario, they are very strong at home and won all three games in the group stage of this competition. For thoose reasons I can't see past a Sao Paolo win here, even if it the odds are a little on the short side.

  3. Re: Quick System I love you Ralphie, had all selections in singles as well as a Yankee. Cooper's Crest ran well, if it had won I think I might have just fainted. Top, top man. Knew it would come good for you, slow year up until today and then suddenley boom boom! :clap

  4. Re: UEFA Champions League 20th / 21st April Inter Milan v Barcelona Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80 (SportingBet) Two teams who progressed impressively in the last round. Barcelona saw off Arsenal with relative ease whilst Inter Milan proved too strong for CSKA Moscow. It's also worth remembering Inter Milan knocked out Chelsea in the previous round after a very composed performance at Stamford Bridge. Think this will be a much sterner test for Barcelona than Arsenal was, the Italians will try and stop Barcelona playing their normal game and try and reduce their attacking threat. These two met in the group stages and played out a goaless draw. Inter Milan will desperatley not want to concede an away goal and will play with caution in the opening parts of the game I would have thought. Don't usually like going unders in games involving Barcelona but with it being such a crucial match between two big sides I think there will be tension and I expect a tight match. Like I've mentioned it will be a big blow if Inter concede an away goal and I think they'll be more than happy to keep the game close and try and nick one going forward and I see unders as a good option here. Bayern Munich v Lyon Lyon (+0.75) @ 1.92 (Bet365) Over 2.5 goals @ 2.00 (PaddyPower) Bayern Munich shocked last year's finalist Man Utd with a superb comeback to score two goals after going 3-0 down on the night to go through on away goals. Although truth be told Bayern were totally out played for the first 45minutes of that game and the sending off of Fabio really changed the game in the favour of Bayern. Although fair play to them they piled on the pressure and moved the ball around and Robben's beautiful strike was worthy of winning any football match. Lyon progressed against fellow french side Bordeaux to book their place in the semi-final. They won the game in a superb display at home and held out well in the away leg. Lyon are seasoned Champions League and despite all the personal changes they always strike me as a very professional team and know what it takes to win important Champions League matches. They knocked Real Madrid out it can't be forgotten by securing a 1-1 in Madrid. True they rode their luck a bit along the way but it takes a good side to progress against that calibre of opponent. They also secured an away win at Anfield in the group stage, which is a very difficult ground to visit in Europe. Think there isn't too much difference between the two sides and I think Lyon could easily sneak a draw or even a win in Munich, It won't be easy Bayern are very good at home but Lyon's Champions League experience should stand them in good stead here and they are capable of causing Bayern's defense some problems. I also feel obilged to take the overs here, both sides are naturally attacking and thier last meeting in the Champions League (2008) saw 5 goals. I think the price currentley available at evens is good value, as I can see this being an open game.

  5. Re: Best bet of the day 14th April

3.55 Cheltenham: Voy Por Ustedes 1pt win @ 15/2 Victor Chandler BOG Although beginning to look a little regressive I am willing to give the horse another chance today in handicap company. A far superior horse to these on his day and may be able to get back to winning ways with ground, course and trip all looking no problem and stable form, although far from being up to usual standard, a sight better than it was when this one last run. Willing to take a chance at a decent price and think VPU will be in the shake up.
This bet stood for me today. Can only echo what has been said really. VPU is a class horse and its worth chancing he can come back into form today against oppostion he would beat if back to somewhere near his best.
  6. Re: I Love Football I actually forgot to post my selections up this weekend and think it's not worth posting them up here anymore. It's not real a GH of such more just a slow progress seeing if I can be profitable. I'm doing very well at present and had another profitable this weekend (3 out of 4 tips winning). But don't fear if your interested in following my tips, they'll be up on my blog (see sig) as well as on the sports-punter tipsters site and also the relevant section on the forums on here. :)

  7. Re: Grand National 2010 I've narrowed down my selections a bit, true it is very much a lottery but I like to go through the card and look at form, trends, ect and try and find the winner. Don't really do E/W bets just back a number for the outright win, narrowed it down to the following shortlist: Madison Du Berlias (80) - The class horse in the race with plenty of Grade 1 race experience. The trends are firmly against it carrying top weight but I think a horse of this class shouldn't be over-looked at the price. Fell in the 2008 national but is usually a sound jumper. Vic Venturi (32) - Impressive winner ar Fairyhouse last time out. As won over national fences in the past which has got to be major plus. The big weight again a negative if you look at the trends. Comply Or Die (26) - Got to be respected for 2008 national winner and last years 2nd. Up in the weights but previous experience is always a major advatange. Niche Market (22) - Very impressive third in the Hennessey behind Denman and What A Friend. Last year's Irish Grand National winner and you've got to think it will be thereabouts if it gets round. My Will (55) - 3rd in last year's Grand National whilst not in the best of form this year it still could prove a danger. Snowy Morning (17.5) - I've backed this the last two years, finished on both occassions 9th in last year's and 3rd in 2008. Down in the weights from last year and decent enough form recentley. Character Building (21) - Always thought this horse as good potential. Good win at Cheltenham last year, dissapointing last time out but was well fancied prior to it's late withdrawal last year. Should be suited to the race. Eric's Charm (65) - The jumping would be of slight concern with this one, managed to blunder to victory last time out. Looks to have good stanmia so the trip shouldn't be a worry. Arbor Supreme (21) - As previous form over 3m+ and put in a decent enough prep run last time out. Maljimar (42) - Hasn't run since third at Cheltenham over the cross county course in December. But seems to go best when fresh and does like good ground. Irish Raptor (40) - Nigel Twiston-Davies was talking up the chances of this one. It's won over the national fences and seems too love it round Aintree was also leading whe blundered in Beacher Handicap Chase last year over national fences. If that can be excused you've got to feel it's got a good chances. Cerium (75) - If you believe reports it managed 5th last year after sustaining a fractured skull. Same weight this year a similiar performance could see it thereabouts. At the moment I'm edging towards Niche Market and Irish Raptor as my two main bets.

  8. Re: Champions League- 6th April

And that proves the odds were correct all along' date=' and Barca, if anything should have been shorter than the odds on offer. Will never understand how people could have thrown money away on Arsenal tonight, be aswell flushing it down the toilet at 7.45pm. :lol[/quote'] Any given result doesn't prove whether the odds were correct or incorrect, you'd have to play the same game over and over again to be truely aware whether the odds were correct. Plus people who backed Arsenal haven't "thrown their money down the toilet", at least not the sensible ones they would have laid for a nice profit all round after they took the lead surely. I doubt you were saying "the odds were correct" when Arsenal went 1-0 up. Thought Arsenal didn't play too badly but Messi on that form is unstoppable and was the main difference between the two teams. I still say Barcelona were too short, this is often the case with highly fancied teams and the reason why you won't get rich back long odds on favourites all the time. I stayed away from tonight's games but I thought Arsenal's odds were too big but didn't fancy them at all to put any money on them.
  9. Re: Champions League- 6th April Arsenal priced up at around 8.5 - 9 with some bookmakers. That's just too big in my opinion. In some ways Arsenal will prefer a trip to the Nou Camp over going to places like St.Andrews and Britannia. The two teams play in a very similiar style of football when in full flow. Barcelona were superb in the first leg but I think the prices are a pure over-reaction to this fact, it will be very hard for Barcleona to play as good again. Wenger and Arsenal surely must have learnt from the first leg were they allowed them far too much space in the first half but closed down and pressured the ball better in the second. Somewhat ironic that Arsenal's only chance of winning this game is playing in the style of teams who give Arsenal a tough game. i.e. in your face, constant pressure football. Arsenal need eleven players to put in a full shift and work for the team if they are going to come away with anything. I'd propose a team like this: Almunia Sagna, Vermaelen, Campbell, Clichy Eboue, Diaby, Denilson, Nasri, Rosicky Walcott Probably not going to be that, but I'd put out the team with the highest work-rate and the above is probably that. I'd also play Walcott down the middle as Barcelona were obviously threatened by his pace in the first leg. All that being side I'm not going to have a bet on this game as I think Arsenal will get beat because they play to open and their defense isn't the best but Barcelona is no value at the current odds. Vermaelen anytime goalscorer @ 11.00 seems too big though and may be worth a small punt because he's always a danger from corners and he's capable of a striking a ball from distance. Barcelona don't look to have the tallest team either so Arsenal could be a danger from set-pieces. Sol Campbell is 21.00 for anytime goalscorer again good value in my opinion.

  10. Re: Boom Or Bust#3 Good to see you back in profit pal. :ok I'm presuming they'll be a lot more selections coming up soon as the flat season kicks in? If I remeber correctly last summer's selections proved to be very profitable, hopefully the trend will carry on this summer.

  12. Re: Champions League 31st of March Yeah Arsenal didn't play that well I thought, but Barca were superb for large parts. Luckily got away with my Arsenal (+0.25) bet at the end with the dubious penalty. I believe I said the most likely result was a score draw in my preview, I certainly didn't think that at 0-2 though.

  13. Re: Champions League 31st of March Arsenal v Barcelona Arsenal (+0.25) @ 1.90 Bet365 A very interesting match and one which will hopefully live upto the promise. Undoubtley in my eyes at least the two most entertaining club teams in Europe. Both teams are untouchable when in top form, I would argue that on the balance of things Barcelona have a stronger team. Barcelona are packed with superstars throughout the team (especially in attacking areas) whereas Arsenal have a younger but still very taleneted side. Can't help but think Arsenal are over-priced in this game, I'd say this game is very equal whne you take into account it's at the Emirates. Barcelona weren't that impressive in the first leg of the last round away at Stuttgart and a similiarly performance here and Arsenal coudl capitalise. It's vital however that Arsenal get off to a good start, they tend to go over attackive when falling behind and concede goals on the break, see home games Vs Chelsea and Mna Utd for examples this season. It should be a totally different game to the Chelsea/Barca ties last season which was Barca's attack against Chelseas couter-attack for the large part. It's not in Arsenal's nature to sit back and soak up pressure which Chelsea very nearly did successfully against Barca. It should be an end-to-end game almost more like a South Americian style game than a European one. I'm taking Arsenal (+0.25) at a decent looking 1.90, I think the most likely outcome is a score draw but Arsenal are more than capable of taking a lead into the second leg.
