  1. Re: Barclays Premier League > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season

Blackburn look a good bet to go down now at 5/4 with Coral. Why on earth have they bought Scott Dann when they already had Nelsen, Samba, Givet and Hanley? They don't have a single decent striker and the lack of depth in midfield is alarming. QPR have strengthened very well, while Wigan don't look as bad as Blackburn & already have a 5 point lead on them. Norwich or Swansea might finish above Blackburn too. I expect Kean to be sacked soon (the 5/6 with Paddy Power might be worth a bet), but given that these are the owners who sacked Allardyce, the chances of them making a good appointment seem very low. Who would want to go there anyway? I like this 5/4 a lot.
Surely the winning on the second bet will make the first bet more unlikely. Dann is a quality player and will be slotted alongside Samba in their defence which should be solid enough. Nelsen has injury problems and Hanley is inexperienced plus Givet if often used at left-back hence the Dann signing.
  2. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 27-28 August Arsenal are a silly price at over 8/1 to be honest. Could understand if Man united where full strength but they are not, questions over their goalkeeper and I don't rate Evans at the back. Plus Anderson & Cleverley is a relatively new midfield pairings. Arsenal may prefer playing on the counter through the likes of Walcott and Arshavin as oppose to their usual style of dominating the game and possession at Old Trafford but ultimately losing the game.

  3. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 27-28 August Swansea v Sunderland - Under 2.5 goals @ 1.79 (Pinnacle) Probably my only PL bet of the weekend, Sunderland usually keep it tight away from home and have also been struggling when it comes to scoring goals. Plus the fact I don't see many goals in the Swansea team at present. Think this will be a low-scoring game, could see this going 1-0 either way or maybe a goalless draw. The under 2.5 goals gives me some cover and is a decent enough price in my view. I'd have if closer to 1.66 mark here.

  4. Re: UEFA Champions League > 16-17 August Be surprised if Arsenal don't win even though their squad has been weakened during the season. Although they've played plenty of games without the likes of Fabregas and Van Persie in the past anyway because they are always injured a lot. Got to remember Serie A is a weak league at present you only have to look at how their team faired in Europe last season to know that. Udinese have also lost key players as well don't forgot. I've priced up Arsenal at 1.54, anything bigger than that is worth taking in my view.

  5. Re: England: Premier League Aug 13-15 Managed to lay Chelsea last night @ 1.75, woke up this morning at managed to lay off at 1.98. Nice profit locked in without worrying about the result. Be interesting to see how the game goes though, I'm still not fully convinced by Chelsea's midfield we all know they've got a good defence and colleciton of strikers but the midfield as still got question marks over it in my opinion.

  6. Re: England: Community Shield Aug 7 Just had a quick early look at this fixture. I'd have it priced up (100% book) as follows: Man City 3.33 Draw 3.33 Man Utd 2.50 The odds look about right then I'm guess, If Man United drip lower to around 2.30/2.35 maybe they would possibly be worth opposing or alternative if they go upto around 2.60 they'd have to be worth backing. Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5 with Sky Bet makes some appeal I'd have had unders around the 4/6 mark myself. Even though it's only the Community Shield neither team will want to lose this and I think it will be a tight game.

  7. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 13 April Mourinho: "I don't think five goals would be enough for Tottenham to beat us because we are coming here to score goals. "I will pick the best team, to get the best result possible. We have a job to finish." Sounds like it could be a strong team from Mardrid, represented in the change of odds with Real Madrid now firm favourites.

  8. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 13 April Think Jose might be going for the aparcar el autobus approach to be honest. Until the most recent Premier League game Tottenham had been struggling for goals, although with Bale and Van Der Vaat both fit there's always a higher chance of goals from Spurs. Can't honestly see them pulling back four goals here though, true Real Madrid may rest players but surely they have enough about them to see the tie through. Maybe worth waiting to see how Real Madrid line-up and start the game before deciding on overs or unders. Think the fact that Real Madrid is going to rest players is already factored in, if they play their full first team they are surely massive value at the current price. The likes of Ronaldo and Ozil would be suited to quick counter-attacks as Tottenham have to push forward.

  9. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 17 March I'm going for Man City (-1.5) @ 2.50 (Bet365) Man City have no choice put to try and go for a win by two clear goals or more in this game. Dinamo Kiev are a decent team but Man City are in a different class in my opinion and back at home on a pitch that Balotelli isn't allergic too. ;) Fancy Man City to score at least two goals in this and I expect them to progress along to the next round with Liverpool and Rangers also. Can see all three British sides progressing to be honest, that seems a good treble for anyone that likes multiples.

  10. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 9 March I think Milan are a better team than they showed in their first leg, probably got one of the best front three in Europe in my opinion. Although Tottenham seem to rise to the occassion in these Champions League games as was shown by their display at the San Siro. There's also the added bonus of both Bale and Van Der Vaat being likely to play at least some part in this game. The odds look spot on to me, can understand why people are on Spurs here but I wouldn't totally rule out Milan in this one. Thinking of Laying the draw in this one to be honest.

  11. Re: UEFA Europa League > 22-24 Feb

I would very strongly reccomend that you don't bet City to score inside 10 minutes. They have been consistently weak in the opening 20 minutesin many recent matches. I'd need odds of at least 10 to put that bet on. Always struggle with Europa league betting because there are too many unknowns for my liking. Although I know a reasonable amount about City for the Europa league. A rumour earlier was that City were working on a new formation at training all week which would see 3 CB's played and Zaba and Kolorav as Wing backs with Balotelli on bench. I'm thinking draw at half time with City win but haven't checked the odds yet.
Very strong team out for Man City with a three strikers in Dzeko, Tevez & Balotelli in what looks like a very attacking 4-3-3 formation. Price is very, very short at 1/5 though.
  12. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 22 February Copenhagen v Chelsea Chelsea @ 2.00 (SBObet) 5pts Major, major drift on Chelsea here, they were a lot shorter earlier in the week and I noticed they are priced up at 8/15 on mylocal bookies match coupon. I have been impressed with Copenhagen but undoubtley the class lies with Chelsea here, even if they haven't impressed at times this season. Maybe a reaction to Chelsea's FA Cup loss an Copenhagen big win at weekend? still think it's a bit of an over-reaction especially if you consider Chelse were originally priced well and truely odds on. Chelsea are a seasoned Champions League side now and I think they'll use all their experience and keep the game tight and look to win this one 1-0. Torres hasn't fired so far for Chelsea, maybe this will be his night. Overall I think there's around a 60% Chelsea will win this one therefore the evens available is huge value.

  13. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 16 February Seems like a lot of people were willing to be against Roma and Barcelona tonight. Especially well done to the brave people who went for the outright win on both of these outsiders. Easy to say in hindsight but I think all the favourites this week have been a little too short. Whilst Barcelona had the majority of the ball I thought the game in terms of chances was quite even. Wilshere was amazing I thought, more than held his own in amongst probably the best midfield trio around. :ok

  14. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 16 February Arsenal v Barcelona Arsenal (+0.5) @ 2.04 (Pinnacle) 3pts Okay no doubting that Barcelona are probably the best club side in the world but I do think they shouldn't be odds on against an Arsenal side that looks in good shape at present. Interstingly enough the handicap was (+0.25) in this fixture last year, Barcelona have imporved since then but Arsenal have also in my opinion. This year Van Persie is back fit and Walcott's in good form add to the fact that Nasri may play some part. Overall I think Arsenal are capable of getting something out of this game, they are capable of beating anyone on their day. They also may have learnt from last year's two fixtures where they were ultimately blown away by Barca.

  15. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 15 February AC Milan v Tottenham AC Milan (-0.75) @ 1.98 (188bet) 2pts Only a small bet here because my champions league bets have been poor in the past. But watched a few Milan matches recentley and I was impressed they look in great form at present, any team with Robinho and Ibrahimovic upfront is always going to cause problems. A Tottenham side at full strength and in full flow would have a good chance to get something from this game but no Bale and Modric only on the bench means they might be lacking in creativity. A central midfield of Sandor and Palacios doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Looks like they'll heavily be reliant on Van Der Vaat for goals, who himself seems to keep picking up niggling little injuries which as meant his form hasn't been as good as it was earlier in the season. Overall AC Milan have the quality advantage as well as the home advantage here. Tottenham have been brilliant in the competition so far this season but I can't help but feel they may come unstuck against quality Milan side here. Not in Tottenham's nature to try and defend so I expect a fairly open game which should be to the benefit of Milan.

  16. Re: Stick to what you know! Interesting idea AK, I can't bring myself to bet on my own team but logic says you should really do so becuase you know your own team best. I'm also opposing Arsenal tonight, pricedoes look a little on the short side to me. Best of luck. :)
