  1. Re: BBOTD Sunday 26th January

2.45 Sedgefield - Tahiti Pearl win @ 7/2 Bet365 Tahiti Pearl has been knocking on the door recently being placed 2nd in each of its last 4 races and I feel that this race is a good opportunity for it to finally get its head in front. It likes it here as it has won four races (One over C&D) and has been placed on one other occasion giving course form figures of 11112. The conditions are also fine as it has won on ground ranging from Good to Heavy so the potentially Heavy ground will be handled well. The trainer/Jockey combination of Sue Smith and Ryan Mania have been doing well enough decently and were unlucky to lose in the Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday. I think the other four all have their chances, especially the top 3 who have all been in better races in the past.
Nice winner! :ok Shame about Our Conner in the other race, came closer this time, but not close enough..!
  2. Re: BBOTD Sunday 26th January

Nr at Sedgy 235 Leopardstown: Our Conor 4/1 bet365 Whichever way you look at this i cant help think that 4/1 about Our Conor is pretty good value. Of the three when they raced last time he should be the one that can improve and didn't do too badly anyway on bare form. I think the Fly had the run of the race and got first run which was so crucial, Jezki got caught out and he would prefer better ground and i said from the beginning of the year that i would be opposing Hurricane Fly this year with so many good youngsters on the way up. I have to give Our Conor a chance to show he's the real deal and the price is worth a nibble.
Going with you on Our Connor today, really impressed me at Cheltenham last year & should be fitter from last run. 4/1 is decent, but will also try & get a higher price in-running & have a saver on Jezki/McCoy (who should get a luckier run today & so be closer).. I don't think any horse is undefeatable*, seeing what happened to Big Bucks yesterday, especially with a brusied foot..! *Except for Frankel!!
  3. Re: BBOTD > Thursday January 23rd

19.30 Kempton: Divine Call @ 9/2 Paddy Power Divine Call has been extremely unlucky in his last two runs and really gave me the impression that he is poised to win. In fact if he is not well handicapped, who is? At Wolverhampton on his penultimate start he was trailing behind a big field and had a whole bunch of horses in front of his nose when turning for home with nowhere to go, his headway after approaching the home turn was then stopped quickly when he got locked on the inside rail while it appeared to me that with a clear run he would have won that race. He looked the best horse, no doubt. Switching to Kempton didn't prove a problem, and why it should, he won here already in the past. Again he travelled very well but had a bunch of horses in front of nose when it mattered around 2f out again, while not getting quite a smart ride by his jockey, who steered him in all sort of trouble. He had to wait for bit of room and as soon as this happened he switched to the left and produced a nice little turn of foot to finish a strong 3rd in the end. He is able to run of the same mark again tomorrow, which is a career lowest mark, and while his wide draw isn't ideal he might simply try to get a clear run on the outside this time and then he should really win I feel.
Probably the last winner of the day! :ok
  4. Re: BBOTD > Thursday January 23rd

3.40 Meydan - Capital Attraction 1pt win @ 25/1 Bet365 This horse is one of few of these that has history around this track, which I think is important. He is a CD winner and usually comes on plenty for his first run back from a break. He made his return to action this season in a hot group 2 event a couple of weeks ago where he finished last. This should be much more to his liking and with that run under his belt I would expect a much better run. He has a decent draw in 8 and this will be his first run in a handicap since winning over CD this time last year in a big field.
Backed for a win & place, cheers! :ok
  5. Re: BBOTD > Thursday January 23rd

Gowran Park 3:15 - Goffs Thyestes Handicap Chase (Grade A) I notice I have backed quite a few Willie Mullins horses of late in Ireland but his record is so sublime in this country that it is hard to ignore a horse of his at a price. On His Own won this race two years ago by a staggering 13 lengths and if he is in that sort of form tomorrow I don't think a 17 pound rise since then would stop the horse. He ran as well as could be expected at Aintree last time out and this is the obvious target. On His Own WIN @ 10/1 Boylesports Read Full Preview @ bit.ly/1dPdiID
    Nice winner!:ok
  6. Re: BBOTD > Wednesday January 22nd

3.05pm @ Lingfield 'Wilfred Pickles' 9/2 (Hills) Ran a really good race last time out and been freshened up with a short break since so should be primed and ready to go. Had a bad start that day, impeded early on and a bit of a rough ride but came home very well. Had been threatened in the runs leading up to that as well. If gets the breaks today will be in the mix. 1 point win
I thought one of you guys had to come up with the winner of this race! :ok I ended up backing Munsarim, Club House, Bloodsweatandtears, Gracious George & Wilfred Pickles - & lost a fiver! Gracious George was so close, got a good price, but didn't back it each way! Just checked the prices traded on Wilfred Pickles in-running, after the race, & see that some people got upto 100s!
  7. Re: BBOTD - Tuesday 21st January

16:15 Southwell Layla's Hero - Dandy Nicholls horses usually do well here. Layla's ran a decent race over 7f at Wolves LTO just not seeing out the trip. Back to 6F for today with Adrian Nicholls onboard. Speed rating not to bad and will hopefully see the trip through this time. 0.5EW William Hill
Another nice priced winner, cheers! Alot of the time though, when you back for the win it gets placed & when you do each way it ends up winning!
  8. Re: BBOTD - Tuesday 21st January

15.25 Leicester - Wood Yer - Win @ 7\1 Bet365 BOG Won last time out at Warwick over 3m 1/2f on soft ground and has been raised 5lb for that win and will run today of OR 114. Has had 6 chase career runs winning his first 3 (twice off 112) and then failing twice off a higher mark (OR 120) and then a higher class 3 chase before latest win. This class 4 chase should suit and the win last time out confirms he will get the slightly shorter distance (1f) of this race and no concerns over ground. Sam Twiston-Davies rides for his Dad on this one and has won 3 times on this horse from 4 rides. Has only run once over this course in a hurdle but was 2nd on that occasion but has won at Towcester a similar course with a tough uphill finish. Really fancy Sam to drive this one to victory! Looks
Brilliant, great write up, lost quite abit in the last week or so, haven't backed any of the recent winners on this thread for some reason (only the losers!) & this has got me out of a hole!! :ok
  9. Re: BBOTD > Sunday January 12th

4.00 - Wolverhampton - Forceful Appeal 1pt @ 14/1 Bet365 Forceful Appeal may well need the run after a lengthy absence but he's a big price tomorrow in a race which isn't all that great for the grade. He's got some form which suggests to me he's well handicapped, including a win at Lingfield in April off a 1lb lower mark. He held his form well over the summer on turf off slightly higher marks, including a placed effort behind Highland Colori. His highest winning mark is 83, and tomorrow he runs off 79. His last effort of the summer is probably ignoring as it came over 10f and all his winning has been over 7f/1m. He runs tomorrow off a 157 day absence and its obviously hard to tell whether he'll need this run, although he has ran well off the back of a break before which is a positive and at the prices its worth chancing. Its also worth noting he has a very good record on Polytrack. He's won 4 races from 10 attempts on the surface and although they all came at Lingfield he's done most of his AW racing there and never been to Wolverhampton. Graham Lee is a positive jockey booking and hopefully he'll attract some market support and run a big race. I was also tempted by Fantasy Gladiator at a big price, he was hampered early on lto and is better than distance he was betaen suggests, although i just get the feeling he's better in 0-75 company. Trojan Rocket also has a good chance i feel however i'd need a slightly bigger price to be interested in him.
Persuaded me to place a small bet, cheers! :ok
  10. Re: BBOTD Mon 30th December

3:35 Haydock No No Bingo - Dropping back to the smaller fences for today. 1st run for the new season but has won under going conditions won at distance LTO over the bigger obstacles. Class 4 again for today and yard form not to shabby. 1pt win 4/1 betvic
    Another great tip! :ok
  11. Re: BBOTD Mon 30th December

1.55 Haydock: Across The Bay' date= 13/2 Paddy Power, win Across The Bay ran quite well lto to finish 8th in the Becher Chase at Aintree. He has been dropped 4 pounds after that run and, although he runs off top weight today, I expect a bold showing. He likes it around Haydock with 1 win, in a grade 2 hurdle, and 2 places, including a 4th in the Fixed Brush Hurdle, from his three runs here. He will absolutely love the ground and the trip won't be a problem. Trainer Donald McCain is in very good form and he has a strong record at Haydock. Jason Maguire is in the saddle.
    Great tipping! :ok
  12. Re: BBOTD Sunday 29th December

Kelso 3:15 Ubaltique looks well overpriced according to my tissue, I had him much shorter than a 10/1 shot. Now down to a career low mark of 120 after a poor showing at Ayr last time out, he did run a very good race when 2nd at Cartmel before that. Both of his career wins have come on soft going so todays conditions shoulde ideal as he has also won over 2m 2f in France. Jason Maguire/Dnald McCain when they team up here at Ayr have won 9 of their last 20 races here which is a sublime record of late. Ubalqitue WIN @ 10/1 William Hill
Great work again!! Managed to place a small bet of £2 @ 30s in-running.
  13. Re: BBOTD > Saturday December 28th

Ling 1.10 - Birdman - win at 8/1 bog bet365 High class handicap (0-105) on the AW Most of these are regulars in the better handicaps and Listed races on the AW but as a result they're pretty exposed and the handicapper knows all about them - all the other runners in the field are on marks that they haven't been able to win off in handicaps My selection is the only 3yo in the field and had some good group race form at 2......including a head 2nd to Olympic Glory and finishing around 4 lengths behind horses like toronado, Garswood, Steeler in group races With such a record he started life in handicaps off 100 which he wasn't able to compete off. Now down to 89 and having improved in each of his last 3 handicaps he could now be ready to strike Has had two runs on the AW after a break, beaten 7L then 1L
Unseated rider & it wasn't even a jumps race! :wall
  14. Re: National Hunt Racing > Friday December 27th

Leopardstown 2:55 - Paddy Power Chase (Extended Handicap) (Grade B) Rockyaboya is running off a good mark with a top jockey on board and is entitled to go well as he has been running eye-catching races in big fields of late. The real value of the race for me though is the stable second string Sin Palo who has a good record when Paul Townend rides. He is off a lenient mark if he can keep the jumping mistakes down but with a clean round he should have every chance in a puzzling race. Sin Palo - 1 Point each-way @ 40/1 Boylesports Rockyaboya - 1 Point each-way @ 14/1 Boylesports Read Full Preview @ http://www.punterslounge.com/paddy-power-chase-betting-the-mullins-pair-sin-palo--rockyaboya-are-tasty-prices
Another one, i love you!! cuddle.gif (No homo!)
  15. Re: National Hunt Racing > Friday December 27th

Leopardstown 1:20 - Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase (Grade 1) Now that Benefficient is stepping back to a much more suitable distance of 2m 1f he should be able to run a big race at a good price. The gelding has a record of 2-4-1 over this trip and he clearly loves the course as he has won here two times already. He is also no stranger to landing a race at a big price as he provided two big shocks in the past before. He has plenty of ability and demonstrated this when he beat Dynaste comfortably in the Jewson this year so he looks overpriced to me. Benefficient - 1 Point WIN @ 14/1 Coral Read Full Preview @ http://www.punterslounge.com/paddy-power-dial-a-bet-chase-betting-benefficient-looks-good-value-dropping-down-in-trip
Nice one! :clap My first winner of the holidays, managed to get 24s on Betfair...
  16. Re: Copa America 2007 Brazil Vs Mexico tonight - 1.50am I reckon Mexico is a great bet @ 7/1 to win this match, plus 3/1 as a saver on the draw (Betfair)!! Brazil haven't really been impressive recently & are without Kaka, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo & Adriano...

The Brazilians kicked off 2007 with a mixed bag of results. They have been beaten in Portugal, held to a draw in London, pinched an unimpressive win against Ghana, and delivered a 4-goal beating to a hapless Chile side. More bad news for Brazil supporters is that their team are going into the Copa with just one planned warm-up match between now and their first Group tie.
  17. Re: Haydock 12/08 1.40 - Paraguay Was really impressed with this horse when it powered on to come a close 2nd to Multidimensional at Newmarket in July. Then it flopped a week later at Ascot when dropped to 7f. Now back up to it’s usual trip of over 1m (2 wins & 2 2nds - before disappointing in it’s last race; 7f Ascot), should hopefully come away with at least a place.

Price is around 23 to win, and 5.5 for a place on Betfair..

  18. Re: York 27/7 Was gonna go for Course & Distance winner 'Momtic' in the 7.30, but opted for Distance winner Byron Bay, who came out a good 2nd last time out. Price of 38 to win & 8.6 for a place on Betfair is too big!
