Re: Cricket: County Championship 2008 As for the opening games. Usually get around 100% book for cricket, which is good if you shop around to get the best price. County Championship Division One Matches
I think Kent can see off Notts, weather permitting. Notts weakened in both batting and bowling from last season; and Broad or sidebottom won't be playing. Division 2 -
Re: Cricket: County Championship 2008 I'm on Di Venuto at 14/1 e/w (top 4 1/4 odds) with betdirect, with all div 1 batsmen in. Di Venuto finished in the top 4 last season despite missing 4 games through injury. Injury apart will play all season, opens and so should give a good run for your money. I have shah 10/1 for division 2, risky though as scoring plenty of runs may well see him called up, more likely for the one dayers which will see him missing games. Yorks are my div 1 bet, I got 22/1 last season, and laid off, though best can get is 10/1 this. Leics have come in from the 16/1 mark and have made some good South African signings. More south africans than english in their line up for some games this season. I see them as solid e/w shouts.

Re: I Know The Score 2007/08 - Sponsored by BETFAIR Not sure how long it's been running, I have done the score prediction and fantasy football for last couple of season. and no Derby never win a game, well apart from one which was against Newcastle. I thought last week might be the only team I'm leading, but hey you never know!

Re: I Know The Score 2007/08 - Sponsored by BETFAIR I have just joined - (well 30 mins ago) to make the number upto 35. Are betfair sponsoring the comp? I missed the first game, but will hopefully remember to predict the rest!

Re: Fantasy Football League 2007-08 - Sponsored by Betfair just added my team to PL MiniLeague, and selected my team for GW1. Lamps is my captain. Good Luck all!

Re: Fantasy Football League 2007-08 - Sponsored by Betfair
It was kinda hard to change my team when I was out in the bush. They don't like showing the English footy either. :wall I asked in Melbourne's massive casino, why they weren't showing premiership kinds, and they just made some bullsh*t excuse up! I just put it down to them wanting to get back at the italians, and annoy the Poms! :@ Who is favourite in the betting market? Can I back myself at about 25/1 please? Very open field you see! Good Luck All!I'm signed up. I quite like the idea that Nick has that being in Australia is a handicap. I demand a 100pts start :dude Thanks to Jonne for setting this up and Betfair for agreeing to reward my impending league triumph :clap -
Re: Fantasy Football League 2007-08 - Sponsored by Betfair I will pick my provisional squad over the weekend. I see it is winner takes all, and thanks to betfair for agreeing to sponsor the comp! Can we e-mail betfair for them to put up a "winners" market, then we can back and lay each others teams on betfair during the season! It was an International Looking Top 5 last season. I was travelling Australia for much of the season, so I thought I was at a slight disadvantage, compared to those back home. I usually managed to watch one live game a week when Down Under, and the Monday evening one hour highlights programme. Crouch Potato ("aussie I think") led for a good chunk of the season before being reeled in, and Jonne "The Dane" finished 2nd for starters.

Re: Tennis 18-24 June I am going to the tennis in Nottingham ("rainham") tomorrow. I am not a tennis expert so can anyone recommend any bets please: See the draw/schedule of play at: http://nottingham.lta.org.uk/ Tim Henman is due on centre court at around 1.30pm. I prefered watching Murray live in Australia, but never mind!

Re: Cricket: County Championship Division 1 I have been put off betting the last few weeks with the weather. I agree with your two bets Kev, and they are the two I am going with. I will see if I can matched at a price I want as betfair first, as I think neither match will end in a draw. (wrong thread but Durham look a good e/e punt for the 20/20's at 33/1)
-
Re: I Know The Score - 2006/07 I went backwards points wise over the last few weeks but still managed to finish third. It was good fun and I will definetly be up for doing it again next season!

Re: Cricket: Friends Provident Trophy As a Notts fan I agree with everything you have written Kevshat for todays game which is live on Sky Sports. Think the key for Notts winning is to get Jacques out early as he is Worcs dangerman. For Notts all batsmen are capable of getting a big score. I would pick Shafayat as top runscorer for us as 11/2 is decent value especially after his century last week. Bowling wise Notts share the wickets around and are all equally dangerous, while Worcs are missing Bollinger and Mason. Also Worcs have lost all their matches at home this season.
-
Re: Cricket: County Championship Division 2 Langeveldt has been signed up by Leics and will go straight into their team, so I wouldn't say Gloucs are overpriced. Broad will be back and New is expected to play as a batsmen. Chirpy Nixon back as wicket keeper and team motivator, so I might go against you here.
-
Re: I Know The Score - 2006/07 I think it is done on a running total average by adding up the top 10 scores from each min league every week. There was some fantastic scoring in our league last week, while the weak before we did nearly all have stinkers.
-
Re: Cricket: County Championship Division 1 I have taken Hants in this division. 7/2 seems a fair enough price though Clark will only be there for 7 weeks. Warne should be able to galvanise them after their near miss last season. Yorkshire @ 16/1 e/w with ladbrkes who go 1/4 odds top 3 look a good outside bet. They have strenghthened the batting wel in beringing in Khan & Younis. Bowling looks a little weak but Bresnan and Rashid look very promising players and they have the experience of Gough, Gillespie and Kruis.
-
Re: Cricket: County Championship Division 2 Somerset though looked a great price 15/8 to overcome Derbyshire & Northants in the group match up at Stan James. Trescothick and Langer should perform a very formidable opening partnership.
-
Re: Cricket: County Championship Division 2 Great preview KevShat. By the way "cricketxpert" a side only needs to take 2o wickets to win a match! I agree though while Middlesez have a formidable batting line up they are going to struggle to bowl teams out twice. The same can be said about Somerset. Little bias as I support Notts, but they shouldn't really of been relegated last season. A collapse on the last day saw them go down. Maybe a slight weakness in bowling teams out with the only spin really coming from Swann. Shreck though had a really good 2006 season taking 54 wickets in 11 county championship matches. Also Ealham, Harris & Sidebottom all got their fair share of wickets. A trio of new recruits: Shafayat, Wagh and Jefferson should help overseas stars Hussey & Fleming in scoring enough runs batting wise. 11/4 seems a fair enough price on Notts. I will still have a wee dabble on Middlesex 8/1 e/w as they have recruited Vaas, R Johnson and Kartik which has given their bowling attack a much needed boost. They have strength in depth in their batting even allowing for potential England call ups.

Re: I Know The Score - 2006/07 it was an impossible round to predict... 4 draws out of 6 and Watford winning. I did get the bolton v everton score right, but lost my banker bonus as that went on Charlton...

Re: Fantasy Football League I have update the standings.
Go Stetsa increases his lead at the top over me, and I am also being gained on by Jonne's dudes in 3rd. Don't forget another Gameweek takes place tomorrow! Annoyingly I transfered out Matt Taylor as he has only been sub the last few games. He then goes and scores against Man U, while his replacement Clichy concedes. Also my strikers have been firing blanks the last couple of games (as has my whole team), and my Star man has been earning me next to nothing, Adebayor was my pick for last match week.# Team Manager Gameweek Total 1 Go Stetsa! We are still 4th in the league of leagues, but have lost some ground on the top 3.. Re: Cricket: County Championship 2008 They all look good shouts Kev. I was considering Surrey, though left it as just punted on them for the title. Gloucs have a great top 6, though wil find it difficult to bowl derbys out twice. Pattinson has played around 10 games for the state side Melbourne in Oz, in the last two seasons. Backing against my own team myself though.
