Re: Derek Kelly Found Guilty Whats afaik mean? :unsure How much do they cost? Will EVERY club now have to obtain one do we think to continue operating or not?

Re: APAT Announce Welsh Amateur Poker Championship How dyou know if 'amateurs' or 'pros' are joining I dont really get it?

Re: Derek Kelly Found Guilty I fail to see how this is a guilty verdict, poker clearly is a game of skill. There is luck involved in almost any game or sport, professional or otherwise. Poker is at least as skillful as a quiz machine! If they are saying guilty then they need to rework this Gaming Act to include any game at all where money is involved or something like this. Incidentally does anyone know if its difficult to obtain a license and if they are expensive? If the answer is 'easily' and 'not really' then this is hardly going to cause a problem in the poker world is it.

Re: Hole in my game???
Yeah I do understand that. I was talking about in general mostly but still I think youll find so often people will call fat preflop raises, theres no need to draw people in as it were. Also if theres any good players on your table theyll notice this. I get suspicious as fcuk about people reraising the minimum. It really spells out AA or KK to me and you wana try and avoid spelling your hand out like that prefloppo if poss. Lets say someone hits top pair as well on the flop, say a Q or J here against you. You pot it to them and now ANY raise they may make will be a much bigger one purely because you got more in there preflop. Betting larger preflop with the goods just makes it easier to form big pots which is the aim of the game.Incidentally, on the second hand - the small raise was intended to draw the aggressive big stack into the hand, whilst still building the pot slightly (I knew he would call a small raise) - and not price him out of it. I did want him in the hand - with me holding KK. -
Re: Hole in my game??? Ok Cloud, the doctor is in the house. Shit that sounded rubbish :lol Er anyway ill comment as I scroll down your HH... Hand 1 Ok preflop raise should be a bit stronger. 5bb aint the worst preflop bet ive ever seen BUT with 3 limpers to you in low limit net cash games, you really wana bet making that a bigger raise, I wouldnt be suprised if they all call you (if the UTG calls, the others likely will). Make it 7-11bb there and expect 1 caller as wished. You HAVE to bet the flop you are correct and you are thinking about draws correctly. $15 is ok, doesnt do anything $10 doesnt tbh but its neither here nor there. Wow all 3 flatcalled you :lol Err thats sick, youre almost certainly behind. Any more than 1 player flatcalls a BIG flop bet, its always very dodgy, with 3 doing it you are almost certainly behind. Its a key point to remember, any more than 1 caller of a BIG bet and you MUST proceed with caution and be prepared to lay down. They all go all in, well nows the time to fold, all evidence points to that there is better than 1 pair out there, 1 of them must have a set, so you are drawing to 2 outs, not enough to call the 4/1 odds with only 1 river to come. Sick theres the set, had to be though it was spelled out. Theres a reasonable amount you can learn from this hand though there. Basically you could have saved yourself about $30 on this particular hand. Hand 2 Ok well you reraise which is 100% correct BUT I hate the raise. Its little more than a minreraise out of position, dont like it at all. Whenever you make a reraise preflop you should always make it at least 3X the original raise imo. So in this instance I would make it between $4.50 and $6.50. Get some decent amount of BB in right now to form a big pot on the flop hopefully. Ok total raggy offsuit board, not an action board for you unfortunately but every single right to believe you are infront still of course. You should bet here and hope 1 of 3 things. He has picked up top pair or a straight draw. He has an overpair (or 66, 55 is ok), an overpair is great though and a lot of players will reraise and do their cash against you here. Or he reraises you on total air. How much to bet? You actually overbet the pot very slightly here, not a problem just a little weird but doesnt really matter. As long as you bet anywhere 1/2 pot and upwards youre ok here. Im calling every time to the all in, A LOT of the time you will see the situations I described above and youll double through. Id expect to see 88, 99 1010 a lot there. This time he has a set, wouldnt usually be the case at all so nothing wrong with the call there at all, its a very profitable call in the long run for sure.
Btw nothing wrong with his call at all, it was only another 4bb to him id call everytime with any pocket pair there as long as the stacks are relatively deep. Any way mate, hope that helps.I call (I consider a set, but would anyone call 7XBB raise and reraise with 22,44 or 77 - the only hand that worries me is AA - but any overpair is a possibility) -
Re: Big Slick Card Club - Purley For anyone reading this who was wondering about the stuff Morlspin was posting about, refer to this thread here it was all perfectly innocent and no harm done http://www.punterslounge.com/forum/showthread.php?p=689349#post689349

Re: Big Slick Card Club - Purley I havent although I know people who have, I have heard it it good also. Out of interest what tourny did you play in at BigSlick?
-
Re: Big Slick Card Club - Purley
Sure thing. Just take a look at the site for the tourny schedule. If you like £10 rebuys then Friday is the most popular night and sells out. Tournaments cater for up to 110 people. NOTHING is self dealt, every table has a dealer, proper tables and everything like that. Id like to add that the atmos is friendly and smoke free. Tournies start at 20:30 and youd be advised to phone up to book your place if you wish to attend. Cash games available once the tournament starts to break up a wee bit usually and on into the small hours. Anyone who likes poker in the area should give it a go anyway, its way better than any casino poker place ive been to because its specifically a poker club.Mrm, any chance you can do a brief sum up of the place please? tourney schedule, number of tables, self dealt etc... I know you're there as a dealer but I think I mean do they provide dealers all the time? Cheers :ok -
Re: Big Slick Club Privacy Issue Are they texting you too :lol I think they just REALLY want you as a member Morl!
-
Re: Big Slick Club Privacy Issue Yeah thats what I thought Legend though I thought I might be missing something because of the discontent. You been to the club then aLegend s you know about the terminals upstairs? Thats a point actually, they have lots of computers with internet that you can play on in the club by yourself and alongside friends, you would need to use the software that they signed you up in to utilise that im guessing.

Re: Big Slick Club Privacy Issue This is really weird that this got posted just as I did my post in the live forum weeeeeeeeird! I could have a word with the owner tomorrow and get back to you on any questions you may like to ask if you wish (personally I dont see what the fuss is though :unsure) but id be more than happy too
-
Re: Big Slick Card Club - Purley Oh aye. Whats the problem with that btw? (I have nothing to do with any of that so dont have a go at me lol). Its just their poker site, like a Big Slick online.
-
Hi there. Id just like to recommend this fairly new club to anyone who might be in the area and fancies a game. Its a very nice club with tournaments every night ranging from £10 rebuys through to £50 semi freezeouts. Cash games are available every night as well. Are links allowed? http://www.bigslick.co.uk/ Of course their main selling point is that I work their part time as a dealer in their games.

Re: HuddersfieldGrovenor Sounds like standard £10 turnover rebuy tourny to me mate, thats just what they are like. Gambooooooool

Re: what r the odds a ROYAL FLUSH???? I heard that if you hold 2 suited broadway then the odds are something like 20,000/1 of flopping a royal flush. The 650,000 odds just treat it on an any one hand basis I think.
-
Re: what r the odds a ROYAL FLUSH???? Ill tell you one thing that is crazy odds. That bird who goes out with Sheringham and is on Celeb BB at the mo, saw her on a TV STT type thing and she got dealy pocket AA THREE TIMES IN A ROW :loon :loon :loon

Re: Late on strategy question Forget him Cloud 100% correct play.
-
Re: How do you play 9s , 10s and jacks?
This the correct strategy in full ring low limit internet cash games. I will hardly ever raise preflop with these hands.I generally prefer to limp and draw to trips, however will sometimes raise with them in late position and noone in the pot before me (or only limps from loose players) -
Re: whats your bogey starting hand? Probably 87s although i like the hand whenever I see it, I just have lost some big coinflips with it. JJ I have had some problems with and I just 'seem' to so rarely flop a set with it. A set of Jacks is a monster. I went through a period when KK was a definite bogey (including getting knocked out a $5500 buy in tourny with it against QQ, thats where it started). But it was just variance and it came good in time. AJo learned from experience is just an average hand not be overplayed.
-
Re: mansion value Unlucky Gaf, im confident there was a final table and who knows what more to come, if you were to win the coinflip. Still you more or less made your $$$ back overall now eh? Typical to I show up and then youre in against my signature hand 66 and it holds :( I swear wherever I go it wins
-
Re: Thoughts Please Nah I cant really see you getting away from that. You should be raising on the flop or at least the turn yourself though, not that it would make any difference in this particular hand but slowplaying 2 pair all the way isnt the best.
-
Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!! Where the fcuks the $1000 NL event? I can only see rebuy ones. Thats annoying that is they had 1 last year
-
Re: WPT Hand - Scotty Nguyen A5s in SB Fair enough GAF but im quite comfortable with his situation actually. I think im probably ahead but if not then im WAY behind. I dont like to bet myself cos I dont want to get raised itd be sick. I dont mind giving a card off, as if they have 2 unpaired high cards chances are they wont hit on the turn and ill take it from there based on what comes. I dont want to form a big pot with my hand.

Re: Derek Kelly Found Guilty Hey ho look at this, Big Slick (the poker club where I work) has just put this up on their website....
Im working tonight so I will find out what this about tonight and post up here what these changes are. Presumably whatever these changes are will have to be the case for all other poker clubs too. I just hope it doesnt have anything to do with my wages :(
