  1. Re: Thurs 2.40 : Ryanair Chase [Now 10-1 for Kalahari King. Stable out of form, no winners in last 2 weeks (unless they've had one today) but that's often the case. Dodgy Ferdy will pop up at Cheltenham with an unfancied 50-1 winner. I expect KK to be 100% by March and stand a great chance of winning.] ======= Yeah you've got to respect any of his runners he sends down there,,as they have been specifically trained for that day all year[winner 2day Divers]..But really how this man gets away with his blatant cheating-twisting,,,god only knows or the devil

  2. Re: Thurs 2.05 : Pertemps Final (Handicap Hurdle)

I was told to watch out for The Real Article' date=' i thought he was running in this race but i cant seem to find him anymore.. Anyone any ideas where its running?thanks[/quote'] ------------- A little more info--and seems this race was not a target anyways------------- Edward O'Grady has revealed a trip to Aintree could be more likely than an outing at the Cheltenham Festival for his unbeaten youngster The Real Article. The three-time bumper winner opened his account over obstacles at Listowel in September and has since been saved for a spring campaign. He carries an entry in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle. "He will probably run at the end of February or more likely early March. His entry in the Supreme is more of a 'just in case' than anything else and the chances are that he might be more likely to go to Aintree," said the trainer "That was my original plan, but trainers can change their minds, so we'll see. "He'll work fairly soon and then we'll decide where we run him. If he ran at the end of February, then the possibility of running at Cheltenham would certainly be live.
  3. Re: Tues 2.05 : Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy Steeple Chase Key Trends (includes 2010 Festival) French bred horses have won 7 of the last 16 runnings from less than 25% representation. 22 of the last 24 winners had finished first or second last time out. Only 2 winning favourites since 1992, but the last 20 winners started at no bigger than 11/1. 9 of the last 10 winners were rated 142+ over hurdles. Only 2 winners aged over 7 in the last 19 runnings.

  4. Re: Gingers Jumpers 2010-2011

There are many mods I get on really well with cc75. There is however a significant minority I do not. The "ffs" shows what BH thinks. :eyes
--------------- quite frankly dont give a monkey's who you like or dislike.....either... "put up".."shut up"...or... "move on" -- It would be best if thread was back normal... beating the bookie...not one another
  5. I'm surprised that a lot of you fellow punters never mention this type of betting stategy.. I find thats it a great way of making money[easy].. Maybe its the challenge of picking winners outright that gives you all the satisfaction. There are a plethora of match bets daily--from all the major bookmakers, but ladbrokes[who i find have best coverage] cover every u/k and also a lot of irish horse races, and you can even bet in mutiples. Dont get me wrong,i do bet straight also,,but keep a seperate banks for both forms,,but match bets bank generates the most profit.

  6. Re: Thurs 2.05 : Pertemps Final (Handicap Hurdle) The Edward O’Grady charge, under jockey Andrew McNamara was always prominent, hitting the lead four furlongs out, travelling well and clear of the field approaching the last, his lead reducing but continuing to stay on well. The event favourite held off all challengers, powering on in the final stages to defeat the strong finishing Riverstown by half-a-length. “We bred him ourselves. I’m impressed with the way he jumped. I’ll probably give him one more run at Tipperary or Limerick then put him away,” said the winning trainer, Edward O’Grady after the race. “We’ll bring him back in the spring with the aim of running him at Aintree more than Cheltenham. I have to discuss it with the owners but I think the flat track might suit him better. “His brother ran earlier today, Rare Commodity, and he’s had trouble with his wind. This fellow also had a small wind operation and that’s why he didn’t run until he was five. “We weren’t 100 per cent sure of the merit of his bumper performances but today was a decent class maiden hurdle, possibly of the standard of Leopardstown at Christmas. “He’s not the finished article yet but he’s The Real Article!” ------------------- sugests his target is more towards Aintree

  7. Re: Mileni Over The Sticks 2010/2011 I'm not sure the ride was that good to be fair. He went too fast in front. Won because the horse had much in hand imo. Sway got 8lbs from him and only beat him a neck. Won again and is now rated 137. Bouggler and The Minack could be 150+ horses and he wasn't far from them last time. Off 130 in a limited handicap he was actually getting weight from lower rated horses :lol ------------------------- thought it was a very good ride,,,"he is a front runner",,,got him to front[easy lead] pinged every jump[which was the important thing],,gave horse a breather and allowed pack to close,,,then just rode a waiting race in front---he knew he was on best horse,,,Geraghty was after his horse from 2 out,and TBF got closer than he deservered--more wins in ROUGHAM

  8. Re: Please help!Haydock cancelled - need a lingfield selection for my £5e/w Lucky15 A

4/1 seems a bit short for an each way but its a big investment and you guys probably know best. Ive been away since 4 jan and missed the king george etc so todays a blow out - havent done a lucky15 with that sort of money before.
------------------------------- personally i would be happy with 4 placers at 4/1 with those stakes,,,any day of week:ok Good luck with your bet m8,,with whichever horses you've backed:hope
  9. Re: Please help!Haydock cancelled - need a lingfield selection for my £5e/w Lucky15 A this 1 got a good write up from Russ 2nd bet for me. 15.40 Lingfield A 0-95 Class 3 handicap with just 8 runners but I really like the chances of one but I'll cover EW. Anne Of Kiev is the likely fav and, although it's the biggest threat to my selection, I'm concerned it didn't win lto when looking like a very progressive type. Up in grade today, I'm just not convinced. Perfect Act is off a difficult mark and that's enough to make me want to take it on, whilst Sioux Rising is sure to run his race but is struggling to get its head in front. May need to ease a couple of pounds first. Both Breathless Kiss and Vintage looks promising types but could just be out of their depth so I'm going with the top one, Five Star Junior. The class horse of the race and much better than form figures suggest, this presents an ideal opportunity to win its first race in 9 starts. Ignore its last run when the muddling pace put paid to its chances but its previous run, over C&D, when 3rd to Edinburgh Knight in a red hot Class 2 is solid form. The drop to this grade is ideal and, looking back at its handicap form, backs that up. Form is Class 2 or above handicaps reads 2-3-4-4-7-4-8-5-0-6-0-0-3, whilst handicap form in Class 3 or below is a much more impressive 2-3-1-1-1-4-1-2-2-1-3. For me, this race splits into 2...those operating at a lower level trying their hand in the next grade up and Five Star Junior, a classy type presented with an ideal opportunity. With almost money back if it is edged out for the win, I just think this a superb EW bet to nothing. Five Star Junior, 3pts EW @ 4/1 Coral BOG __________________ Russ

  10. Re: Mileni Over The Sticks 2010/2011 Like the Phillip Hobbs runner here and I think he will improve for handicap debut. His novice form looks good and he jumped really well lto behind The Minack and Bouggler. Those two are probably very good chasers in the making. Saving on the fav, who will improve and looks the danger. ------------------------------------- hope you've got this 1 right,,,thinks its an absolute bricker and have hammered it,,,7/1 is very generous...personally more a 3/1 shot in my view:hope

  12. Miesque, the brilliant champion French miler who conquered America, has died at the age of 27. The 10-times Group/Grade One winner was put down on Thursday at Lanes End Farm in Kentucky due to the infirmities of old age. Miesque was bred in Kentucky by the Niarchos family, but was trained in France by Francois Boutin throughout her illustrious racing career and will be best remembered as the first horse to win two races at the Breeders' Cup, claiming the Mile in 1987 and 1988. The Niarchos family said in a statement: "Miesque was part of our lives. She was unique and gave us immense pleasure." The daughter of Nureyev was retired after her second Breeders' Cup triumph at Churchill Downs and went on to enjoy great success as a broodmare in America, with her offspring including the high-class miler Kingmambo. Other significant career highlights included victory in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in 1987 and the French 1000 Guineas of the same year
