  1. Re: Ripon 09/07 with the ground going heavy this should suit Micheal Dods DUCAL PIP SQUEAK, has finished third on two occassions and the run at Haydock suggested a each play looks good value, with Four Miracles coming out and winning last month

  2. Re: 9.05 Windsor.

Seen a tip for Bobby Rose each way.
Polar Force is a big adversary this evening for Christine Dunnett and a very interesting booking of John Egan, holds Makabul and gets another 3lb this evening and is value at 11/2 off tonights mark Wups
  3. Re: Windsor 09/07 WINDSOR 9TH JULY 2007 CHEVIOT ASSET MANAGEMENT HANDICAP (CLASS 4) 20.05pm Mark Johnston's four year old Baan was rated as high as 102 this time last year when finishing seventh in the King Edward V11 stakes (Group 2) over a mile and a half on good to firm ground and did not really land a blow on the ground at Ascot.has lost his way terribly over the last 12 months, but with the going on the soft side and has dropped 19lb in the Hcp and gets another 3lb allowance this evening, finished fifth to Fortunate Isle over 1m 1f at Ripon last time out off a mark of 86, and drops down another grade this evening, Mark Johnston has got the services of Jimmy Fortune tonight and he is getting the first run ever for the yard, now with a price on offer of 7/1 it might just be worth to play this each way, and could even drift on course due to the form of the horse, but Mark Johnston would not send this here if he thought he did not have a slim of a chance to get into the frame. COOLMORE AUSSIE RULES MAIDEN FILLIES' STAKES (CLASS 5)20.35 With Ryan Moore in fine form it might be worth having ago on this trained Sir Micheal Stoute three year old, with only the two runs behind her,Dutchess Royale both runs have been creditable enough to suggest a bold bid here tonight, was last seen when finishing third to El Toreador over a mile on good to firm ground and went down by four and a half lengths, and finished a good 2nd on her course debut over 7f on the All Weather and that ground could suit diverting here to Windsor.has landed a plum draw this evening and if getting a good run through out should figure strongly off a strong pace

  4. Re: Jamie Spencer - Rated / Over rated

I personally like him and think he's a good jockey but excels in middle distance races when he can drop a horse in behind. He rode 2 winners at Wolverhampton when we were there and people may think good jockey but really he should have had 4 winners. That day in the 1st race he left his run too late and just got up for 2nd which would have been frustrating if you'd backed him yet he then goes and gives History Boy a fantastic ride at 12-1 and never comes off the bridle. We have to remember he's only young and will get better each year. The likes of Dettori, Fallon and Kinane have been around for years and he has a long way to catching them up and obviously went to O' Briens stable too early in his career. He needs to be stronger in a finish though, I think it was Mighty Magyar that backed him on Cleaver the other week. You had to be disappointed with that ride as he lost the race when it was in the bag. I don't think he's a great jockey in sprints and also couldn't believe when he got turned over on Ouija Board in Ireland by Dylan Thomas last year. That highlighted how good Kieren Fallon really is and how Jamie needs to be more crucial in a finish. Try get to see that race cos it was awesome at the finish. His ride on Cool Customer last year was very good too, last to first I think it was and timed to perfection.
Top notch response, i have to agree he is definelty a middle distance jockey, 1m 4f - 2m this year i have watched him on good rides coming home comfortably..but i still hate him lol
  5. Re: Mondays E/W Fancies.

with the ground coming up against the punter, a each way selection loks even harder, but i will play one here. Rothesay Dancer - :nana :nana :nana 5/1 Now i played this one the other day, and Sarah Brotherton rode the horse and did so i think against instructions (MY OPINION), but today gets Kelly Harrison back in the plate, and is off the same weight and mark when finishing a close second at Catterick on good to soft ground, and it is a dilemma why the trainer has sent it out so quickly, if you see the race last time, was given no ride at all, and maybe the trainer is very shrewd or the connections feel this will run a place claim again this afteroon. Also the 2.45 at Bath, O'Casey is a very interesting adversary, is dropping back to 5f and this should suit, has run over 6f and struggled, but ran a good third to My Shiela's Dream at Catterick on good to firm, and i think a little cut will help, the yard have been quite taken by his progress and still think a seller is not beyond him. GL Wups
Well it proved today Kelly Harrison back on board on Rothesay Dancer has won well at odds of 5/1
  6. Re: Compiegne well after a very bad run in the UK we come back to France and again a runner that has a chance.. 16.20 - Compiegne - Lucky Name Is only rated 2lb higher when winning over a mile on very soft ground, has been running in very low graded races ove the last 5 months and since stepping up in trip has not shown much to suggest anything that it can figure here, finished third over a mile and a quarter off 72 and went down by 4L on soft ground, the ground might suit when drying out and go a lot faster, but under these conditions and the services of Richard Thomas who is riding out for R Laplanche, who is a trainer that takes his time with his four year olds, if returning to the form of 72 he should run a good race. As this looks to go off a very big price due to its 2007 form, it might be worth playing this each way for small stakes..could go well. Wups

  7. Obviously we all have reviews and suggestions on Jockeys, but from my point of view i really think Jamie Spencer is so over rated. We all cheer him whem he rides a winner, but the stats are there to see this year, his form on the turf in 2007 is poor, i believe he was the worst jockey in the ratings when he won his jockey title, and showed a -£212.79 over the course of that year despite winning the title He has been more effective on the AWT this year, and we have to look into some of his rides this year He rode Rique Heights this afternoon, a heavily backed favourite into 5/4 now he was not to blame for missing the break and they went a good clip he came there after making headway three out, go into contention, but the horse found nothing, but that does not give him the excuse to drop his hands and let the horse finish last against some terrible platers.. Risque Heights is most definetly becoming very exposed with 8 races under his belt and if cannot beat these types the owners have to look to off load him in a seller, which is probably the only place it will win. Jockey's should be slammed for not riding to the line, and dropping his hands and giving up should also be punished, JP Guillembert was given a 42 day ban for doing just the similar, but that was at the line. So again as i stated yesterday, where does this leave the punter, the layers are screaming thankyou Spencer you came through for them, but for the punter it is coming fustrating when jockeys do not ride out. I know i am leaving myself open for criticism on this matter, but i think you have to be bold in this game and state things you see and need addressing professionally. Wups - Thats my gripe of the day

:nana :nana :nana :nana Get in - Great tip write ups - did you really expect it to reverse the form with the favourite. Superb mate :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
Well looking at the race, to be honest yes, as it looked at least 4lb better in the ratings than a short price of 6/5, could not touch the yard for the fav came from, and E.Lellouche putting a 8lb claimer on board how shrewd is that, very i think.. Wups
  9. Re: Compiegne

I do not know how many people play away from home, but the off shore racing has caught my eye over the last few weeks, and there are winners to be had here 14.50 Compiegne - Global Hero - :nana :nana :nana 9/2 This five year old has won off marks of 97 and 88 and has again dropped down the handicap by another 3lb this afternoon, likes good ground and even though it is stating soft, checking the course and stats out this horse should be up there against this easy types.has won two claimers and being trained by E Lellouche has to be respected in what the yard send out..this couse is a lot easier to ride from the usual tracks he has run at, and i think will be there today. Wups
Winner..i think i will stick to off shore racing lol

  12. Re: Windsor 09/07 I would like to give some insight out to when backing at Windsor, you will find yourself in profit usually when backing horses at the track from high draws in softish ground, and usually it is also wise to play 3rd or 4th in the betting, and you should fine yourself in profit and prices averaging at about 5/1+

  13. Re: Bath 09/07 BATH 9TH JULY 2007 ADECCO RECRUITMENT HANDICAP (CLASS 5) (3yo,0-75) 5f161y John Spearings three year old No Worries Yet should set the standard here,if we discount her last run when disappointing over an extended 5f here back in June when finishing last to Ocean Blaze off a mark of 72,Maysarah was suppose to run that day but was pulled out on the fast ground, which is why i have resevations on that this afternoon, the selection is dropping back to a realistic mark of 66,and if we look at her runs prior to these when winning at Beverley off 67 and again over course and distance off 67 again, this makes the selection a head of the hcp and Franny Norton gets on well with the horse and realistically should hold the aces here. Suited Ground : Good Jockey % at track : 14% = +£30.00 - Age 3 Trainer % at track : 18% = +£20.00 - Age 3 Trainer & Jockey at the course : 67% = +£2.88 - Age 3

Re: Musselburgh 09/07 MUSSELBURGH 9TH JULY 2007 RAILS BOOKMAKERS MEDIAN AUCTION MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 6)15.30PM With results going terribly wrong due to adherse weather conditions it is going to be a very cautious day again Spencer takes the ride on Guy Butlers three year old in Risque Heights, this needs to win this afternoon and show the early promise when finishing a near second when going down by half a length to Show Trial over course and distance on good to soft ground, had a slight hitch of a bad spell when running on Good to Firm ground, now diverting back to more softish surface should see this lose the over lengthened maiden tag, is coming here off a good enough mark to do so and has the ability to win this poor contest. Suited Ground : Good to Soft Jockey % at track : 33% = +£2.44 - Age 3 Trainer % at track : 20% = +£3.50 - Age 3 Trainer & Jockey at the course : 22% = +£22.00 - Age 3 GL Wups

  16. Re: Sunday Naps Kidzplay Amateur Riders' Handicap (Class 6) (4YO plus) - 17.20PM Jim Goldie's Rothesay Dancer has been running good enough to suggest a race of this kind is there this afternoon.and being entered into a race of this nature with amateurs might just get the hurry up the horse needs, was last seen when finishing on the second occassion second to Dark Champion over 5f on good to soft ground going down by a head, is coming here with out a handicap penalty due to the amateurs race here, and this should win this if putting her best foot forward. 17.
