  1. Re: Rugby Union - French Top14 - 3rd Round Here's my picks for this weekends Top 14. Toulon -10 Biarritz scr Toulouse -11 La Rochelle -2 Toulon have been talked about already. Biarritz-lots of internal problems, the forwards coach resigned, then came back but it is written that he has the full support of the playing staff and Serge Blanco! Their opponents Agen were last seasons D2 champions but there is a huge difference in class between the two divisions, as there is in the premiership. They did score 24 points against Toulouse, but 14 of those points were scored when it was 44-10, so you could argue Toulouse were already in the showers! This game should be close but Biarritz should have the skill & wisdom to see them through. Could also be a low scoring game-maybe under 25 points. Toulouse v Stade should be a massive party! But unfortunately we are not sure if Stade have RSVP. They are sending their second string, who could prove to be anything and so this should prove an easy win for the Toulousain. La Rochelle came into the Top 14 from D2, this season and have surprised in their opening two games. A strong performance against Castres and good show in Paris against Stade put them as favorites at home against a Bourgoin side who have suffered two heavy defeats already! Bonne Chance Mes Amis!!!

  2. Re: Rugby Union - French Top14 - 3rd Round Bonjour, fellow Top 14 Rugby fans! Great post B10111, I agree with your thoughts on the Toulon v Racing game. Toulon have all their big names playing and this should prove too much for Racing. Also Racing have relied on getting off to a good start in their previous games and I do not believe they will be allowed this luxury against Toulon! Toulon points difference 11-15 5/1 with Paddy Power

  3. Re: Doncaster - Saturday 14th August 4.00 - Bonnie Charlie This horse has been running over 5 & 6f this season, which in my humble opinion is too short and now steps up to 7f for the first time this season. You can argue that all his best efforts have been over 7f and with the rain only helping his cause further, 7/1 looks good value to me.

  4. Re: Rugby Union: Championship 1/5 Odds a place 1-2-3

    Selection Odds
    Leicester 15/8
    Northampton 9/2
    Bath 5/1
    Saracens 5/1
    Gloucester 10/1
    London Irish 10/1
    Wasps 12/1
    Harlequins 28/1
    Sale 50/1
    Leeds 100/1
    Newcastle Falcons 100/1
    Exeter 300/1
These odds are from Corals the official betting partner of the Premiership(I hope this is what you are looking for!) First thoughts are that Quins look potential value, they have recruited a bit of beef this summer! Which is most unusual for them and they also have a great deal of potential coming through from their Academy team, who were runners up to Leicester last season. Watch out for a young prop called Marler, who is a beast and has made his mark internationally at u20's already!
  5. Re: Small field races - Any ideas ? I think jockeyship is also worth considering, for me one of the best jockeys that I can think of in a small field and aslo on a front runner is Phillip Robinson. I have often backed against and watched in agaony as he has dictated the pace to perfection. It has almost been as if he has a stopwatch with him! There may be a case for looking out for horses that do better in smaller fields, as it has been known to work for come from behind horses in large fields!

  6. Re: Has it always been like this? Was talking to one of the lads at work today and he went to RAF Fairford for an airshow and there was trouble in the beer tent and a couple of stabbings! Trouble at a bloody airshow and we think racing has crowd issues, what next? Brawling on the grass at Eastbourne Bowls! :loon

  7. Re: Has it always been like this? I haven't been racing this flat season yet (work getting in the way) but my favorite track Sandown has been getting a bit chavvy over the last few seaons. I guess you get what you pay for, if you can afford the premier enclosure then you can escape the idiots. But in saying this I have paid top dollar at Glorious Goodwood and have experienced a higher class chav, only time I have had a stock broker by the throat except on a Rugby pitch was at Glorious Goodwood! Its great to see all these meets with huge crowds but I guess our modern society tends to do things to excess and trouble tends to be better reported these days, so giving these idiots the exposure they sometims crave (youtube partly responsible!). Favorite day out recently was the extra meeting at Lingfield over Christmas, took my eight year old daughter as a last minute thing, small crowd, nice considerate people & everyone out for a good laugh!

  8. Re: Hugo Taylor

The 28/1 e/w is NOT there full stop . Yes you can have 3 pt win and 1pt place which reduces the profit what on earth are you clowns taking on!
I cannot see where the reasoning behind this quote is coming from, unless you are in the betting shop and the manager is dictating what you are allowed! Like others on here I read what HT has to say and if my bet matches his it is purely coincidental. Also if you look at his selctions table, he advises on where and how to put the bet on and as we all know betting odds are subject to market forces i.e.tipsters and weight of money ! Also a piece of advice would be not to call people clowns if you are trying to put your point across-

  9. Re: Royal Ascot - Day 2 - Wednesday 16th June 5.00 Ladies Are Forever-Possibly letting a bit of sentiment get the better of me here, but if she was to win what a great fairy tale win for a small yard this would be! Eye catching debut at Beverley when winning by an eased down 6 lengths, my concerns are not too much form has come out of that debut race yet but she does have a great draw in 16! 14/1 & possibly bigger come race time looks nice for small stakes each way.

  10. Re: York - Saturday 12th June 3.15 YORK I like the look of Nosedive at 25/1, first time out he was 4th to Duchess Dora who is expected to win a Listed event today at Sandown. His form has been consistent since that race, last time out he was 5th, coming from behind over 7f at Epsom and over a quicker 6f today it might just suit him better! Also as a two year old he was highly tried in Group company and although not getting any black type was far from disgraced.

  11. Re: Slovenia PrvaLiga Telekom Slovenije April 30th, 2010 Koper v Maribor Took a look at this game not realising that this was a top of the table game. On taking a closer look I really like the look of the odds available on Koper - 2.15. Normally I would not look twice at a game like this but when you look at Maribor's current form compared to Koper it does not read as good. I was hoping somebody would be able to give me some more information about both teams before I made a decision.

  12. Re: Turkish SuperLig 24-26/4 Kayserispor v Manisaspor I like the look of the odds for the home team, although their results have not been good they have been scoring goals. When you look at Manisaspor they haven't scored away from home in their last four games, which is why I am thinking this could be a good bet. Can someone give me the reason why Kayserispor's form has dropped and if there is any team news for this game that I should know about. Many thanks!

  13. Re: Rugby - 6 Nations Scotland v England On paper this looks like being a dour game! Scotland will rely heavily on the boot of Dan Parks and for this reason I think Martin Johnson has picked Joe Worsley to try and get in Park's face. The weather has not been kind to Scotland as they only seem to thrive at Murrayfield when it is raining and when conditions are generally poor. Scotland cannot hide from the fact that they are the worst try scorers currently and for this reason alone I believe that todays conditions will suit England's game much more than Scotland's! Todays Rugby teams (compared to teams in the past) rely more and more on the strenghth of their benchs, you have only got to look at the French bench and they are all recognised internationals! England's looks a lot stronger than the Scottish bench and this is another reason why I believe England will triumph over the Scots. England 6-10 pts 4/1 P.Power winning margin England 11-20 10/3 P.Power alternative winning margin Ireland v Wales Ireland's defence will be the strongest that Wales have faced (including that of the French) and are less prone to making errors or going to sleep like others! Wales will battle hard as always but with this being Brian O'Driscoll's 100th cap there will be no coming second for the Irish today. The one advantage the Welsh may have is their physicallity, the Irish have stood up well so far but their forwards have not been as strong as in previous years and they have certainly not been giving their backs a solid platform to run off! Ireland 6-10 pts 4/1 P.Power Good Luck everyone!! (except the Sweaty's :ok)

  14. Re: Rugby - 6 Nations Italt v England Just spotted the Man Of the Match odds (P.Power) and I think there are a couple of nice looking bets. Danny Care @ 10/1 - If it wasn't for a coupleof poor passes last week I thought Danny Care had a good game and I think his style of play could help England today, especially late on in the game when it begins to open up a bit more and hopefully when the Italians start giving away penalties :hope. Also Dylan Hartley is beginning to show us more of his true potential and he looks a good bet @ 20/1. He is a good ball carrier, he isn't afraid of getting involved and he is also learning to tame his temper! I can't remember which Autumn international (Argentina I think?) but Dylan was responsible for half the total metres gained by the English forwards. A couple of small bets to make things interesting!

  15. Re: Rugby - 6 Nations Italy v England Some good thoughts have been expressed already, one thing to bear in mind is that there has been a virus amongst a few of the players this week! I believe all of the squad have travelled but some may have been weakened by this virus, I know Borthwick was one of those suffering. I believe England will cover the -8 as they have the type of game to frustrate the Italians upfront, also England will rely heavily on the boot of Mr Wilkinson and although I believe that it will be later in the game that their strength will tell. The one area where the Italians will not get beat is in the scrums and they may for a while cause England a lot of problems especially for the new boy Dan Cole. I fancy England to win by 12 points, Paddy Power offer an alternative winning Margin market & 11-20 points is 2/1 which is a nice cover!
