The Punters Lounge £150 added Poker League continues on this week with our December League.  All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club.  For added interest we will again feature a PLO leg in week 3 with the other 3 legs NLHE. 
Starting time is 8.10pm to hopefully assist those players who are rushing home from work to register, but without too much impact on finish time. (There will still be a 10 minute late registration period on top of this.)
Due to Christmas Day falling on a Wednesday we'll take a one week break and resume on 1st January to complete this month's league.
 > Leg 1 : Wednesday 4th December at 20.10 GMT in the PL Poker Club Home Game.
 > Leg 2 : 11th December
 > Leg 3 : 18th December - PLO Leg
 > Christmas Break
 > Leg 4 : 1st January 2020 - double entrants in formula *
Buy in is $5.50 per leg.
To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 4 ( * so if 12 entries the formula will use 24 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive.
Your top 3 scores of the 4 legs will count towards your league total. We will be using the usual PL league format, which will be updated in this thread. (The PokerStars own league scores will not be used.) Formula is -Log(position/Entrants)x100
All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league.  Please spread the word and invite your friends so we can get the weekly numbers to keep this league viable.  New players always welcome to join in.

Well done to muttley on an undefeated month  and ultimately a runaway victory.  It was tighter for the runner up positions, Leo managed to hold on to second spot and demios produced another good 2nd place finish on the night to climb back into the third podium place.

Paul crushed it this month, well played champ. I am rubbish at working out points, bit simple me lol, was very happy to see I picked up 2nd  Well done Demioz for the other podium and everyone that played, enjoyed the games and chat as usual when I could chat, so many distractions when I play, I turn around and people are out sometimes :)) 

Wish I could run like that all the time. Unlucky guys.

Bit of a bloodbath early on last night! There were two eliminations before I'd played a hand, both coolers, AA v KK and set over set.
We were still on Level 1 when 3 players saw a flop set v set v NFD. The turn gave me quads and all three were all in. 
Great HU with demioz, who started with a big deficit and turned it into a close comp in the end.

I think the new format is clearly better than the double points. Going into the last week 4 or 5 people could still get into the money in pretty much any order.

Well that was an epic 3-hander. Well done to thebestthere on the win . 
After all the guys formerly at top of the table seemed to jump over the cliff, I was just playing tactically and hanging in there with my short stack hoping that the 2 titans would take each other on, which they did eventually! ? So after a rather extraordinary result I find I am this month's champion ?
Well done to Leo and Paul who hold on to podium positions in 2nd ?and 3rd ?
A very close fought month, thank you everyone who played.

It seems a fairer system, and I'm happy for it to continue. I would have been embarrassed to take 1st place after Leo's superb run this month. This month was slightly unusual, in that two of the money places were pretty much decided. I think it will be far more competitive in the last leg in most future months.

Difficult to assess how successful the double runners is, with Leo running away with the first 3 legs! However numbers in the final leg held up pretty well so doesn't seem to have put off too many from trying.
It's a fairer system in that it's not too heavily weighted towards the final leg. Had we continued the double points, on this month's results muttley's final leg win would have taken the league top spot (he did have 2 previous 2nd place finishes in leg 2 and 3), despite Leo winning all the other legs.
We'll continue to run with it next month.

Since the introduction of double points for week 4, two things have happened. Firstly, the numbers have increased, or at least not fallen off throughout the month, which is GREAT. Secondly, the league has been won each time by the winner of Leg 4. This isn't a problem if everyone is happy with it, and it hasn't impacted on the numbers player Legs 1-3 so far, but I'd like to explore other possible structures for the league.
Assuming everyone is ok with it, could we try another system, say Leg 4 scores Double Entries, for the next couple of months? Would be good to hear your comments, and I'm happy to consider alternatives.
