  1. OK, we have the final 16 today... at first sight I like Noppert vs Aspinall at 2,15. Noppert dispatched DVD yesterday with a 105+ average... he should have confidence, and frankly, he has been in better form than Aspinall before this event... and then the home crowd advantage so to speak. He should be the favorite, I think.

  2. The usual 3-day tournament, without Price, M. Smith, van Gerwen etc. this time.

I guess DVD or Ross Smith might win it.

One match in the evening that caught my eyes: Hempel to beat Wade at 2,75. Hempel has been beyond awful this past two years, but in the last three PC's he at least got a couple of wins each of the three days... might be worth a try.

Back to the Darts tomorrow with Players Championship events tomorrow and Sunday. I can't find any bookies with 4 places

    1pt DVD 20/1 Bet365
    1pt Van Der Veen 25/1 Bet365
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    0,5pts e/w Gilding 66/1 Bet365
    0.5pts e/w De Decker 80/1 Bet365
    0.5pts e/w De Sousa 80/1 Bet365
    0.5pts e/w Veenstra 100/1 Bet365
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    0.25pts e/w Woodouse 125/1 Bet365
    0.25pts e/w 150/1 Bet365
    0.25pts e/w Slevin 200/1 Bet365
    0.25pts e/w W.Plaisier 250/1 Bet365

May I ask who is your 150/1 MYSTERY player? :)

Yes, DVD should REALLY win one finally... (or not)

Anyway, I will try Doets (201) and Pietreczko (126) for 0.25 pts.

One name that struck my eye: Pilgrim at 67... I mean, who is this guy? :D Apparently, has has been dominating the Modus Super Series these last couple of weeks... let's see how he fares with his form at a bigger stage... but his odds look too short for me.

  4. Yes, Smith seems to have a very favorable draw... most probably he meets Cross or Noppert in the semifinals.

Price, Aspinall and Heta are all in the other side of the bracket. We can't count out Heta on home soil, and I was thinking about picking him, but most probably he would have to go through Price/Aspinall/Smith... which is a tall order for his odds of around 13.

4 180s and a high break of 86. Seriously? 86 highest break when you have played 18 legs. The quality in some of these matches have real shockers.

I feel like (with the elimination of MVG), Humphries-DVD might be the most crucial 1/8 final matchup, regarding the outright winner... (and of course, Price-Cullen and VDB-Clayton too).

    0.25pts e/w Van Peer 250/1

Awesome job, Fader, Heta winning it all! 2 PC event wins out of 3 for him, not bad before World Matchplay.

(And you were so close to a DVD-Heta final too...)

  7. Great write-up, Fader!

    https://www.pdc.tv/news/2023/06/12/schedule-confirmed-opening-night-2023-world-cup-darts

    Format
Group Stage - Best of seven legs
Second Round - Best of 15 legs
    Quarter-Finals - Best of 15 legs
    Semi-Finals - Best of 15 legs
Final - Best of 19 legs

All games will be played in a Doubles format.

So it seems to me, it's only "team" games, no singles.

I think Wales is the team to beat, that Price/Clayton machinery is such a force, and they are a proven unit too... but the odds are very short.

    England looks scary, too.

Who will replace MVG for Holland?

Australia was my first instinct, it's a generous price, last year they were something like 10... and it's the same unit now, of course Whitlock is quite "off"... but Heta has just won a PC, and again... the format suits them.

I like your Germany pick too, when those tow are on, they are ON... and of course, they have HCA.
