LeMale got a reaction from The Equaliser in DAILY LUCKY 15
I was happy to be on the first big price winner and had that in three L-15's (and should have had it as my nap but changed my mind last minute) but it was actually my worst RL meeting for winners/placed(ew) with just the first two races that i found my two winners and just one other place. A couple of my picks had traffic problems/boxed in and a couple were just beaten by better horses on the day and the fact that i had those winners in my top 2/3 selections means i felt fine with the losses because i was close enough to finding them and i felt my picks all ran their race.
Anyway, i hope i have proved my point about these meetings NOT having handicap cutting runners in them, but i suppose that just means if there are none of them in these races and all are trying their best, it can still make it difficult to find which one of the buggers is going to win! But hey-ho, that's horse racing!

So, 1 winner, two 2nd's and an unlucky in running 3rd. All ran well and gave a good run for your money, but if you still don't agree, as i said, fair enough, but i thought your picks were good.

Good start! There wasn't many in that race that liked g/f as much as Show Me. You picked wisely, i didn't, but i had the first two winners so i'm not complaining.

You have mis-understood. You and some others have been saying the Racing League is crap (and yesterday you said the same about the Shergar Comp) comps for the benefit of the bookies. Just to make it clear, i'm not digging you out, (or any one else) you are very opinionated and are entitled to your opinion, if you think it's crap, fair enough. The point i was making, that i believe you have not understood, is of course there are trainers (to use @Zilzalian's best described terminology) "Manipulating The Handicap", John Gosden said it on live tv, and ALL punters know this (including you - That's for you @harry_rag) no matter what you call it. I didn't say you said these things about Racing League and alike, but on handicap racing in general (as you quoted about a Tim Easterby horse ridden by David Allen - and yes, betting on that trainer/jockey you really were asking for trouble) and the point i was making was, that doesn't happen in these team events. The trainer/owner offers a "team" a horse and expects it to be ridden to try and win and the jockey will try his/her best to win and will not ease a horse down, because they will lose their team points, (and is better for ew bets) no "manipulation". You have races where all horses will be running at their best, or the best they can give that day. (as @MCLARKE say's, they're not machines, they could be unwell and nobody would really know) So imo you have a non-bent race, all you have to do is pick what YOU think is the BEST horse in the race using they're rating, conditions and trip, and anything else that matters. Yes, you still might not win, but if you've chosen wisely, you should get a good, honest run for your money and that's what we all want, don't we? I know you like a challenge, so here's mine to you. Next Racing League meeting, forget all other meetings that day and just put all your effort and time into those races and see how you get on. (you don't have to post on here, you don't even have to bet on them if you're so against it, but i would be interested to see how you get on)
Anyway, i still probably haven't explained myself very well, but hope you take on the challenge, good luck what ever you do. (hope you take no offence to anything i've said, it wasn't my intention)

Yea, strange. Couple of whips at the furlong marker and imo thought he'd passed the post, but wasn't riding hard last 100 yards. (different race to the quote though)

No offence taken, or even a gate. I am happy to take up the challenge for the next Racing League meeting I think that @Trotter had some success by using a mixture of RTF/RPR figures). However, I will not just focus on one meeting on any day's racing. Something that I have learnt recently, a slow learner I know, is that with all the uncertainties with regard to a horse race one has to think very carefully before placing a "singles" win or each-way bet. All the pro's on here rarely put up numerous single bets on any one racing day. I have never had any pretensions about being a pro gambler, my whole purpose of posting up on the forum has been to help the ordinary punter enjoy a day's racing without losing his/her shirt. I now think that I have the answer. Courtesy of Betfred and their triple bonus is given to punters who may only find one winner in a Lucky 15, I will be posting up to three L15's , if I get the time for 2 points a pop. This can provide a fun-packed day of racing excitement for a maximum of 6 points. I will still post up a daily win bet of up to 2 points, the notion being that my Nap bet or strongest selections should possibly pay for the multiple bets. The only variation on this will be that I will place more win points on Richard's @richard-westwood, top-rated horses. I am not now including my bets on his selections as part of my overall profit for the rest of the year. This gives me encouragement to place extra points on selections in the future should I ever gain the confidence to do so. My current racing chat (RC) figures are -38.14 MTD (damn festivals) and YTD -24.78. Watch this space.

Well, I will have to consider that my wrists are slapped. Don't know why you keep calling me "lad" I'm 73 years old and still need parental (or should I say spiritual guidance now) before placing my "singles" bets.
The physics or anything else you like to call it has nothing to do with trainers letting their horses run on a racing day when they know, for whatever reasons they have, that the horse will underperform.

Agreed. (and don't forget the fine) Having limitations and asking jockeys to basically keep count, is stupidity, they have enough to worry about already. Whip or no whip, there should be no limits. (God, i sound like a cross between Yoda and 2Unlimited)
Just out of curiousity, have they ever had a horse race where jockeys carried no whip?

there was a big debate once if i remember correctly and it was rejected on the grounds that the whip was also a steering mechanism as well as a teaching tool. there have been a few races where just hands and heels is tried.

I reckon they are scared to death at getting a 20 day ban so who can blame them? Typically the authorities have created a new problem for everyone where non really existed before.
